I like the program very much! I'm sure that I will work with art later because I love to draw, to paint, to sculpt, etc. However, I'm not sure yet where I should continue after the Visual Art Program...

My plan is to be a professional artist now. All the courses are very interesting but also competitive and tough. Even if the drive of work is hard, I like it very much! This school is also a test drive to see if I'm passionate enough to be an artist and it gives me a foot in the door at the same time. I will stay here and study Fine Arts during approximately eight years. I don't know if I will succeed as an artist, but I know that there are a lot of other opportunities.

It was difficult at the beginning of my career, it took several months before starting to expose my art. But now, I sell my art in many Art Galleries and I love the job I do. I joint an artistic cooperative to make new contacts and friends to share our artworks and studio, which also gives me more opportunities to grow up my reputation and my career. I decided to learn Spanish and try something crazy and unusual! To study in this country is an enriching and unique experience that can open many new doors for my career. I will make new friends, new contacts, meet other artists and improve my style and artwork in a completely extraordinary way. I'm going to have a student job and student financial help to pay the bills.

A cooperative of artists is an artistic organisation where each member put an equal quantity of money each month to pay for the common studio and it's equipment and sometimes when the organisation is bigger, for the rent and food of each other. It helps artists to create their work freely, grow up their career, make contacts and to have a financial security. I joint this group and I'm now very glad because I learn a lot of new techniques and inspiration from others. I still work part-time to pay the rent, but now that I have support, it is pretty easier to put all my time in the creation of art pieces. Definitely, I can't be alone if I want to learn!

A mentor is a volunteer who wants to help inexperienced artists to begin their career. There are organisations who allow masters artists and novices to meet each other and learn. I decided that if I want to succeed, I need to learn from them who make it. I'm mentored by another artist who will help me to know how to begin and work every day as an artist. This person is not just a teacher, but a friend which we share trust and mutual respect. Definitely, I can't be alone if I want to progress! Also, I still work as a part-time tattoo artist to pay for the rent.

I move to New York.

I decided to move to New York because it is the center of contemporary art in the world. There are a lot of artists who live there and I think that I can't make it alone because it's a very complex and big city.

I have been studying photography during one year. I have now my own studio and I will shoot photos for events and weddings and build at the same time a solid portfolio.

They need a photographer who wants to go to Haiti to cover the achievements of the organisation and the stages of the traveling.
