After nearly three years of intense work studying Architectural Technology at Montmorency College, I am getting ready to earn my diploma. With that in hand, I am faced with making a choice among the following three.

Choice 1 : Go directly to the job market since my diploma gives me the title of Technologist in architecture.

Choice 2 : Apply in the Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Montreal.

Choice 3 : Apply in the Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Laval.

Job

Go directly to the job market since my diploma gives me the title of Technologist in architecture.

Going directly to the job market seems like a good decision. The idea of starting to make money right now is something to consider. I'm starting to get for a job looking at the ads on the internet, I must decide which of these three jobs I should apply for.

Choice 1 : A permanent job as an architectural technologist in a prestigious architectural office.

Choice 2 : A job as a building inspector in the city of Montreal where the salary offered is very interesting.

Choice 3 : A non-permanent job at a curtain wall subcontractor that seems like an excellent opportunity to gain solid experience.

Architect Office

A permanent job as an architectural technologist in a prestigious architectural office.

When I arrive at the interview, I notice that I may not have the profile that the company is looking for. What should I do?

Choice 1 : I'm better off lying about my personality and abilities to make sure I get the job I want.

Choice 2 : During the interview, I am as honest as possible, I do not try to over qualify myself and I begin to accept mentally that I probably won’t have the job.

A job as a building inspector in the city of Montreal where the salary offered is very interesting.

Job Interview

I decide to go to the interview despite being a few minutes late. After all, no one can be perfect!

Arriving at the interview, three people are waiting for me at the end of a long conference table. I feel intimidated by these people. During the interview, I'm asked strange questions. I realize that I do not want such a job. How should I react?

Choice 1 : I put aside my pride and I say sincerely to the three people who are present that the job no longer attracts me.

Choice 2 : I decide not to comment on that and I answer the questions that are put to me.

It's a trap! I must not answer the email otherwise a terrible job awaits me!

By choosing not to respond, I am being harassed by emails from the owner of the curtain wall company, Richard. Do I have to send Richard's emails directly to my spam box?

I feel honored to be trusted so easily. I send a positive response to my new employer.

My new employer gives me an appointment at his office at 7 a.m. the next morning. When I arrive, he immediately puts me to work without giving me any training. I must learn everything by myself and there is no room for error! What should I do?

Choice 1 : I decide to impose myself in the company by proposing to my employer, Richard, to offer on-the-job-training to future new employees.

Choice 2 : I do what my boss tells me to do. I learn by myself over time. After all, as long as he pays me at the end of the week, I’m okay!

Depression

I agree to work overtime without saying anything.

After a few years, all these accumulated overtime affect me drastically; I fall into depression and must stop working. I will never find a normal way of life. I regret not having spoken to my boss about my personal limitations right from the start.

I immediately talk to my boss to tell him that I do not feel able to work so much time.

My boss does not take it well. He fires me on the spot, insulting me roughly. A few days later, I found another job where I spurned until my retirement.

I accept the offer without hesitation. I can not wait to start my on-the-job-training.

After a few weeks, I learn the ropes of the company and my boss decides to keep me. A few years later, I get a premium wage that will allow me to retire earlier than expected.

Over time, I climb the ladder in Anneau's company and then take his place at his well-deserved retirement.

Sexual Harassement

I decide to impose myself in the company by proposing to my employer, Richard, to offer on-the-job-training to future new employees.

Richard is hard to approach, he is like a badly trained dog! After all, he decides to accept my advice. I establish a good relationship with Richard. At the end of my contract, he decides to keep me at his company. After a few years, things degenerate, I am a victim of sexual harassment from Richard. I am extremely affected by the situation. I have no choice but to leave my job. To change my mind, I decide to go on a Road Trip in Europe that will last, in the end, for the rest of my life.

I do what my boss tells me to do. I learn by myself over time. After all, as long as he pays me at the end of the week, I’m okay!

Over the weeks, I am accumulating the bad energies that this job brings me. I explode, I lose control of myself and hit Richard in the face and I smashed the windshield of his pickup truck. He sends the police to my back; I get arrested and find myself having to spend 15 weekends in prison. I will not be able to work in my field of study again because most employers do a background check before hiring a new employee.
