Trials can be Dangerous.

How would you react?

A couple of weeks ago, I received a letter for jury duty. I went to the courtroom where they asked me a couple of questions and thought that was going to be it but after a couple of days, I was contacted by the clerk who told me that I was selected as a jury for an important trial. This trial involves an alleged mobster that is well-known and has apparently a lot of influence. I did not think it would put me in danger but while I was walking home from work, three men came to me. Before I could say anything, one of them started talking. He told me he was representing the accused in the trial in which I was going to be a jury. He explained that the whole trial was a mistake and his client was an honest man with a bad reputation. I could feel this was very shady and seemed very illegal. How could they already know I was a jury? After talking for a while, he handed me his briefcase. I opened it and it was full of money. I don't know how much money but a lot. He told me it was mine as long as his client had a vote of not guilty from me. He also said I would much prefer to have his client as a friend than an enemy which sounded like a clear threat to me.

Choice 1 : I accept their offer.

Choice 2 : I refuse their offer

Shady men

I accept their offer.

They did not leave me much time to think about it. I don't exactly know what happened in my head but I took the briefcase and told them I was going to vote not guilty when the time comes. They smiled at me and left. I keep thinking about it and I am not sure I made the right choice. I am afraid of getting sucked up in the criminal world.

Choice 1 : I do not go to the police. I just wait for the trial.

Choice 2 : I go to the police and tell them exactly what happened.

Money!

I refuse their offer.

I tell them I don't want their money, and that I am not for sale. They start getting closer to me, but we are in a public place, so I just start screaming that this is sexual harassment and they leave me alone. Before going, they tell me this is not over.

Choice 1 : I go to the police to tell them what happened.

Choice 2 : I don't talk about the encounter with anyone and hope it was actually nothing.

Offer rejected

I do not go to the police. I just wait for the trial.

I decided not to go to the police. The trial started and I was really nervous. I felt like the judge, the defendant, the lawyers and everyone was watching me. Accepting a bribe is no misdemeanor and the sentence would be harsh if I got caught. When we arrived at the moment of deliberation, I went in a small room with all the other members of the jury where we voted to know of we had a verdict or not. This is what I got paid for, I now need to vote for not guilty even though I do not believe it. I was thinking about it and who would even know if I voted for guilty instead?

Choice 1 : I decide to vote not guilty.

Choice 2 : I decide to vote guilty thinking no one will know.

Jury

I go to the police and tell them exactly what happened.

I go to my local police station and ask to speak to an officer. Two officers come to see me and I tell them what happened and they seem quite surprised. I also show them the briefcase full of money. They tell me this will come in handy since they need hard evidence. After that, they tell me they also need me to testify or the money is of no use to them. They tell me if I do, they will have to relocate me and change my identity or I would be in danger for the rest of my life. I could also leave them the money and forget all that happened. They would find a reason to get me out of the trial without the mobsters knowing the police was involved.

Choice 1 : I accept to testify.

Choice 2 : I refuse to testify.

Police station

I go to the police to tell them what happened.

I went to the police station to tell them what happened and they told me they cannot do anything because they have no proof. If I had taken the money, at least there would be proof but now it is my word against them. They tell me I can either go on with my life or I can set up a meeting with the mobsters and wear a wire. Either way, they will make sure I am recused as a jury.

Choice 1 : I want to go on with my life and forget all this.

Choice 2 : I want to wear a wire to catch those guys and stop being scared.

Cops

I don't talk about the encounter with anyone and hope it was actually nothing.

I did not go to the police. I wanted to forget all this and get to the trial but the three men came to my house. I got home from work and they were waiting for me in the living room. They basically offered me the same deal as before. A briefcase full of cash for a vote of not guilty and threats if I did not comply. This time they were in my house and that really insulted me. Should I use one of the numerous weapons hidden in my house to fight them or should I just accept their offer?

Choice 1 : I decide to fight them since they are now on my territory.

Choice 2 : I accept their offer.

My house

I decide to vote not guilty.

You vote for not guilty. The votes are counted and it is a draw. We now have to talk amongst ourselves to reach a majority and be able to give a verdict. I am scared that f we reach a verdict of guilty, the mobsters will be angry at me even though I only promised to give them my vote of not guilty. Should I stay quiet and hope he ends up guilty even if I vote against it or should I push to have him acquitted of all charges.

Choice 1 : I start arguing openly that I think the defendant is not guilty and try to change everyone's mind.

Choice 2 : I decide to stay quiet and just keep voting not guilty.

Juries have a lot of power

I decide to vote guilty thinking no one will know.

I was wrong, some of the other jurors were also paid and saw me write a guilty verdict. The defendant was condemned because of me and his friends know it is my fault. This is maddening, I am now fleeing for my life, trying to get to another country where I can maybe start a new life with the money I got from the bribe.

Choice 1 : The End

Escape

I accept to testify.

I accepted to testify against the mob. I am now living in a new country, far from where I am from. I can't have any contact with anyone I knew before. I work a dead-end job. I am always scared that someone will find me and I will be killed. It is weird to think that all this started with just a jury duty notice.

Choice 1 : The End

WRP

I refuse to testify.

I refuse to testify for my safety. The cops understand, they tell me they will find a way for me to get out of the trial. However, they will also keep the money I was given. We ended up faking a heart attack that brought me to the hospital and made me miss the trial. Now the trial is over and the mobsters now want their money back. They came to my house and they are not leaving. They do not seem to suspect the cops were involved but I cannot be sure.

Choice 1 : I tell them what happened with the police.

Choice 2 : I tell them I don't have the money here, and they should come with me get it.

Hospital

I want to go on with my life and forget all this.

The trial went on without me. I tried to forget all about that experience but I always feel like I am followed. My life is not the same and probably never will be. I don't know if the mob is after me or not. I am living in complete ignorance and that is worst than anything I believe. Two weeks after the trial, a man got into my house and strangled me to death.

Choice 1 : The End

Not sure about this

I want to wear a wire to catch those guys and stop being scared.

Just as the cops predicted, the mobsters came to me to treathen me again. This time, I told them I would meet them in two hours at my house and that they should bring the money there. When they arrived, I had my wire on. I did everything perfectly but the cops were not listening on the other end. I used the safe word that was the signal for them to come in but I was by myself. The mobsters saw that I was acting weird so they searched me and found the wire. They killed me right after that.

Choice 1 : The End

Cop sleeping

I decide to fight them since they are now on my territory.

I use some of the weapons I have in the house to take them by surprise. After a couple of seconds, all three of them are dead. I need to decide my next step. Should I try to get to their boss and also kill him or should I try to disappear?

Choice 1 : I decide to go after their boss.

Choice 2 : I try to disappear.

My big gun

I decide to go after their boss.

I start killing all the mobsters, making my way up the chain and after a couple of months, I have killed them all and built my own empire. I am now the godfather.

Choice 1 : The End

Godfather

I start arguing openly that I think the defendant is not guilty and try to change everyone's mind.

I argued very well and I ended up convincing enough people to reach a not guilty verdict. After the trial, the mobsters contacted me. They told me they heard what I did. They were very happy. They said they are now my good friends and I should contact them if I ever need anything. They said I was now of of their interns and that if there ever was a vacant position, they would consider hiring me. I told them I was volunteering for any mission they had, no matter the wage or the compensation package. They said I would need good time management, and that there was going to be a lot of leg work before I learn the ropes.

Choice 1 : The End

My new friends

I decide to stay quiet and just keep voting not guilty.

The other members of the jury kept debating and in the end, we had a majority of people thinking he was guilty. We gave our verdict to the judge who condemned the defendant. I was scared that the mobsters would come after me but they only gave me a phone call saying they knew I did what I was paid for so I would not have problems with them. My theory is that they had paid many of us and at least one person did not do as planned. I read in the papers that one of the other juries was found dead a couple of weeks after that. I can't help to think this is linked to the trial.

Choice 1 : The End

Verdict

I tell them what happened with the police.

I tell them the whole story with the police keeping the money and the fake heart attack. They are not happy. Their boss is in jail and they can't get the money back because the cops have it. They see it is all my fault. They tell me I will be tortured for a long time before they kill me.

Choice 1 : The End

Torture

I tell them I don't have the money here, and they should come with me get it.

I take them to a field near my house where I say I buried the money but it is actually just a normal field. I just wanted to waste some time and reach a quiet place when the moon came out. We are now here, the moon is full tonight. I am starting to transform into the Beast. They see me, and they start screaming and trying to flee. It is too late. Even their weapons are useless against me. I rip them apart in a couple of seconds. I think I will get the money and start a new life somewhere. I don't think the mob will be after me once they see what happened to their friends but I always wanted to start back my life in Asia. Now is the time!

Choice 1 : The End

My ultimate form

I try to disappear.

I go straight to the airport to try and disappear but I get intercepted by some cops before getting there. Turns out they are crooked cops working for the mobsters. They kill me and dump my body in the ocean.

Choice 1 : The End

Ocean
