I had graduated from university with a master degree in accounting. Before hunting for jobs, I did an extra study outside of school to obtain a certificate for technology. I wanted to have that as one of my asset and I know it will come in handy for any work or future project. After that, I spent three to four months applying in different company for an internship. At the end of the fourth months, I began to lose hope and started thinking of taking a break from this tiring life. Little did I know, I received a call from a company one morning. Without second thought, I immediately accepted their offer to work as an intern and I could start next week. A week later, I was put under the care of the accountant and finance department. Weirdly enough, they were only three people on the team, four including me. They started by giving small work such as paperwork on small businesses. I was pleasantly content by their help as they guided to learn the ropes of the company.

After working as an intern for four months, I felt pretty confident about my skill as an accountant. The team was nice, but they were not really on good terms with the marketing department because of money issue. In fact, the company I work in is pretty small and they were just getting started. No wonder everyone is really sensitive as they work overtime to meet the deadlines and it was overwhelming for me as an intern. They constantly fought about the budget of the company. One wants more percentage for their team but we want to keep the budget for every firm as equally as possible for the beginning. During lunch break, I was eating with some people of the marketing department. They were friendly to me despite being on the rival team because I was new and good at my job, but there were specially this one person. It was pretty obvious he was into me because he kept budging me by asking personal questions. I didn't mind at first for formality but as days went on, it started to get on my nerves. I thought to myself I could put up with his actions until the end my stay because I had six months left. On the contrary, I was wrong, he started to sexually harass some female employees including me. I was scared so I asked the director of my department for a leave of absence for two days. During those two days, I contacted the people concerned and we went to inform our HR.

The day I went back to work, the perpetrator was called in the CEO room. Since the accountant and finance, and the marketing firms were situated on the same floor, he transferred the man in another team. Rumors started to spread fast about him sexually harassing women in the office. He was getting outcasted and undermined by his colleagues. Two weeks later, he couldn't take it anymore and he handed a resignation letter the his director's team and the boss. Honestly, I didn't care and I wasn't relieved either. On the contrary, I was proud of myself and so the others. My job was a piece of cake. To be precise, not my job as an accountant but the job to get this certain man quit or fired. To do so, the women in my team acted innocent, gentle and interested in the man. Also, saying that he was harassing us was an exaggeration. We did it so the marketing team had a vacant position. With this former, our team could hire a new employee to for them without them knowing. By doing so, we could have fewer problems because the new employee's job is to supervise and tone down their non realistic ideas and project.

One year had passed and I finished my internship. My coworkers and I bonded really well during this year mainly because we had good chemistry. We could understand each other with little communication and we all excel at our tasks. I was happy with the environment and the company that I decided to apply as an employee. The boss and my team were contented that I made this decision because they were about to offer me a position in the company anyway. I stayed in it for five years until I was transferred to another branch of the company. Yes, our small company grew over these past five years. Also, I swore to never do what I did before again. I was under the influence of my colleagues as I wanted to fit in.
