The beginning.

Melina has been working out all summer. Her goal is to be accepted in the police school program at Ahuntsic College. She knows that the physical test is very hard to pass. She has been running every day and lifting weighs.

Melina is very happy she passed her exam, many were not accepted. All of her efforts paid off. She is looking forward to her classes and can't wait to start the real police training.

Life sometimes brings disappointments. Melina was really sad when she learned that she failed her physical tests. She had trained all summer for what? Her parents and friends tried to cheer her up and told her that sometimes dreams need more than one tries. All these talks lead her to a crucial choice :

Adapt, succeed and complete program.

Melina graduated her police program and just got hired as a junior police officer in her hometown. She is the first one to be hired in a group of 3, so she's lucky to have this choice to make.

Feeling overwhelmed by all the work.

She thought this program was the right choice for her, but it has now been 3 weeks and Melina feels she doesn't belong in this program. She didn't think it was going to be this tough. She is too emotional for this kind of job. Also, she can't keep up with her homework, training and her social life.

Her family was right, sometimes when you really want something you need to persevere.

Not again :( Melina couldn't believe she failed again, she did put the extra effort. She knows she cannot go through this again. What will she do with her life? She needs to choose another path.

Car patrol by day.

Melina enjoys working the day shift because she has all her free nights with her family and friends. Also, her parents are relieved because she doesn't put herself so much at risk by patrolling the streets of Boisbriand. She has been dating a colleague, and they plan on buying a small condo. She knows she would be more challenged if she accepted a night shift, but she also likes her day job and the tranquility it brings her.

Risky at night.

Working the night shift is really exciting and unpredictable. Melina and her partner Phillip never know what the next call will be. They get domestic violence calls, calls for theft, but tonight's call has brought them to a local supermarket. A man has taken the cashier hostage, and gunshots have been heard.

Choice 1 : Negotiate with suspect

B plan in college.

When she was young, way before wanting to become a police officer, Melina loved playing school, and she told her parents she wanted to teach. She has just been accepted to the University of Montreal in the elementary school program. A new path is waiting for her.

Choice 1 : Teacher

Quit school and continue working in restaurants.

Two disappointments in a row was too much for Melina. She decided to quit school, and she will continue working as a waitress. Besides, she's making more money that most of her friends, and she has plenty of time to decide what she wants to do with her life.

Melina took the night job because her day job didn't make her feel useful. She needs some action.

Start family.

Melina and Philip have been living in their condo. They both work as police officers by day, and they enjoy the same activities on weekends. They have decided to start a family and Melina is pregnant. This brings them a lot of joy.

Choose another program.

Sometimes, you need to try something to figure out you don't like it as much as you thought. This is what happens to Melina, but she does not see it as failure, at least she had the courage to try. She has always been very interested in the teaching field. She will change program soon and become an elementary teacher.

Melina finally became a teacher, she got a job teaching in her old elementary school. She is very happy.

Start negotiations with suspect.

Melina calls and is able to get the suspect on the phone. She explains that he still has the power to make the right decision. There is no need for anyone to die. She tells him to get out, and that they will be able talk and help him.

Her heart is beating very fast, she enters by the back door. She gets to the front of the store and the man sees her. He points his gun towards her.

Shoot him.

Melina has no choice, she sees bodies and blood on the floor, and the suspect is pointing his gun at her. She knows anything can happen, but she needs to stop him. Suddenly, everything she learned makes sense, and she knows what she needs to do. She shots in the shoulder exactly where she practiced at school.

Melina confronts the suspect with confidence. She gets to close to him, and she got distracted by the blood on the floor. She was not ready for this kind of crime scene. By doing so, the suspect pulled the trigger and shot Melina. She fell on the floor.

Man gets out.

After 20 minutes of talking, the front door of the supermarket finally opens. A young man, nervous and shaking, slowly opens the door. He lifts his hands up and screams he has not harmed anyone inside. Police officers tell him to turn around and get on his knees. He cooperates and he is put in handcuffs. Everything is over, everyone is safe.

Attack.

Melina quickly realizes that there is no hope in trying to convince the suspect of getting out. He is not willing to talk, and she hears people screaming. Suddenly, another gunshot is heard. She decides to go in from the back with her team, she is getting closer to him...
