My Life in the Fututre

A new beginning!

I am very happy! I just finished my two long years and my four rough semesters at Montmorency College. I also passed all of my courses in the Science program, the hardest program, in my opinion. Now, I have two choices in front of me. I could immediately go to university to pursue my studies and achieve my dreams as fast as possible, or I could take a semester off to travel to celebrate the end of Montmorency College.

Choice 1 : I decide to travel.

Choice 2 : Go to university.

Montmorency College

I decide to travel.

After a long reflection, I decide to go travel. There are a lot of choices in front of me for destinations, but I only hesitate between two destinations, because they both seem very fun to me. The first choice is to go travel around Europe with only a back pack for a few months. The second choice is to go do a road trip on the west coast of the United States with some friends.

Choice 1 : Do a road trip.

Choice 2 : Go to Europe.

A plane

Go to university.

I decide to take the safer choice and immediately go to university after college. I hesitate between two programs at university because I am not sure of what I want do to in my future. The first choice would be to go to Polytechnique in Montreal and pursue my studies to become an engineer. The second choice would be to go to the HEC (Hautes Etudes Commerciales) and study in the marketing area. I would go to HEC if the courses at the Polytechnique don't interest me in any form. Both schools are a part of the Montreal University.

Choice 1 : Go to Polytechnique.

Choice 2 : Go to HEC.

The Montreal University

Do a road trip.

I decide to go with the West coast of the United States with some friends for a nice road trip vacations. We love the sun and the hot weather. We go to beaches, and we love to swim in the ocean. During our trip, we realize that there are a lot of festivals and parties that we could go to. It would be fun to go to the festivals because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to these away festivals. We ask ourselves if we should go to the parties and festivals or if we should save our money for the rest of the trip and for our return to Quebec.

Choice 1 : Go to festivals and parties.

Choice 2 : Save money.

A road trip

Go to Europe.

I decide to go to Europe alone with only a backpack. I travel around multiple countries by train. One time, I was in a club in Paris when I met a fabulous girl and I immediately fell in love with her. I sacrificed some time of my trip to spend some time with her in France. After a couple of weeks, we became an official couple. I don't know if I should return home or if I should stay with her in Paris.

Choice 1 : Stay in Paris.

Choice 2 : Come back home.

Barcelona

Go to festivals and parties.

My friends and I decide to go to festivals and some parties. We go to festivals such as Coachella, and we go to some clubs in Los Angeles. We do not have a lot of money remaining in our budget because going to festivals costs a lot of money. Fortunately, we bought our plane tickets in advance, so we did not have to worry about that.

Choice 1 : Find a dead-end job.

The Coachella Festival

Save money.

We make a safer choice, and we decide to save our money. We still do a lot of fun activities, but they cost less money than festivals. They are still very fun tough! We have the chance to visit big cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. After our one month long road trip, we come back to the province of Quebec to pursue our studies and start university.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

San Francisco

Find a dead-end job.

Because we are poor, we have to find a dead-end job in California for the three weeks because we need some money for our return to Quebec. We choose to work at McDonald's because this job requires less in the job training than other dead-end jobs.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

McDonald's

Stay in Paris.

I decide to stay in Paris with my lovely new girlfriend. Now, I just have to find a new job in Paris because I need money to survive with my new girlfriend. I will still comeback at home in Quebec to visit my family and my friends but I couldn't leave my girlfriend alone in France.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

Paris

Come back home.

After a long reflection with my new girlfriend, we decide that it is better if I return home in Montreal and I continue my studies at the Polytechnique or at the HEC. We will still see each other during the Christmas break, the Spring break and the long Summer break. I hope that our relationship will still work even though we are not on the same continent. We will still continue to communicate via video calls though.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

Montreal

Go to Polytechnique.

I choose to continue what I previously did at Montmorency College and continue with the field of study of engineering. I think that this is the best decision for me because I dedicated all my high school and college to become an engineer and I don't want to throw this opportunity away. Now I have an opportunity to become an intern at an engineer job. Do I take this opportunity or do I keep studying?

Choice 1 : Take the job and opportunity.

Choice 2 : Keep studying at Polytechnique.

Montreal Polytechnique

Go to HEC.

I decide to go to a completely different field of study and start in the marketing field at the HEC Montreal. I want to start in the marketing area because the Science program at Montmorency College did not interest me at all. However, every Friday night, I have the opportunity to go to party in Downtown Montreal with my friends. Do I risk my studies to go to the parties and fail my courses or do I keep focusing only on school?

Choice 1 : Go to the party every Friday night.

Choice 2 : Keep studying at HEC.

HEC Montreal

Take the job and opportunity.

I decide to take an intern job at a new engineer company based in Montreal. I think that this is the best decision for me because it will tell me right away if this job is made for me or if I just pretended to like doing Science. I want to have the best job as possible in the future because I want to be happy when I am an adult. After taking this job, I don't think I will need to come back in school because my income will be enough high to let me live comfortably.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

An engineer

Keep studying at Polytechnique.

I decide to keep studying at the Polytechnique in the Montreal University because the intern job did not interest me at all. It was too far from home and I did not want to travel the majority of my day just to go to an intern job. I want to keep studying to have more opportunities in the future and I want to choose the one that will be the best for me.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

Polytechnique and Montreal University

Go to the party every Friday night.

I decide to go to the bars every weekend with my friends because I want to have the most fun as possible during my little time as a young adult. However, after a couple of weeks of partying, I realize that all of my grades go down at HEC and I think that going out is not the best choice for me at all. It highly affects my grades. I must restart my journey to make better choices.

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

A party in Montreal

Keep studying at HEC.

I make a safer choice and I continue studying every Friday night even though all of my friends go to the bars without me. I realize that this was a great decision because the grades of all of my friends go down while mine only go up. I think that I am on the right track to find the best job for me in the marketing field of study. What a great decision!

Choice 1 : A new beginning!

HEC Montreal
