An important decision.

Since I was kid I always wanted to become a police officer because I love to help and protect people. Indeed, I also want to be a police officer because I want to arrest criminals and prevent crimes. For this reason, in school, I decided to work hard and to get good grades to eventually have a foot in the door. Now, I am finishing high school and I need to decide if that's what I really want to do in my future. I need to decide between a Police Technology program or another field of study.

Choice 1 : A Police Technology program.

I decided to follow my dream and study to become a police officer. I know that the route may be different depending on the location of my application, but there're similarities. To become a police officer, I must have a DEC in Police Technology. I don't want to go far from my home, so my choices are in Montreal. I need to decide between going to John Abbott College, which is an English program, and Ahuntsic College, which is a French program. Which one should I go to?

Another field of study.

I decided to change my field of study because I wasn't enough sure about becoming a police officer. I still don't know what else to do, and where to go. For this reason, I need to decide if I go to cegep to do my basic courses or if I go directly to the job market.

I decided to apply at John Abbott College because I preferred the English program. However, I did the physical tests, but they were different from other colleges, and I wasn't chosen. For this reason, should I apply at Ahuntsic College or should I change my field of study to try something else?

I decided to apply at Ahuntsic College and I got chosen. I did my program in three years and I loved it so much! Now, I just received my diploma, I did all of my tests for the Quebec National Police School, and I am waiting for my results. When I finish my training there, should I find a job as a police officer right away or take time for me and travel?

I decided to go to Terrebonne College in Social Sciences for two years to complete all of my basic courses. I love this program, and I already made a lot of friends. Now, my program is almost over, and I need to decide if I want to go to university to become a psychologist or if I should just go directly on the job market to find a job. What should I choose?

I decided that I won't go to college for any field of study. Indeed, I will directly start looking for a job on the market. This job will not be my dream job, but I will make enough money until my retirement.

Last week, I finished my training at the Quebec National Police School, and now it's the time to decide where I want to work. Should I work in city or in a further region?

I decided to take a break of my life and to start travelling to enjoy my life. I am asking myself again if I really want to become a police officer. Now, it has been 3 months that I have been travelling. Should I come back to my old life and find a job as a police officer or continue to travel and see how it goes?

Go to university to become a psychologist.

Now, I am at the University of Montreal to become a psychologist. It is not my dream but I love it and I can help people. I am so happy of my choice!

I have been travelling for 6 months now and I love it so much. I decided to have my own security company in Europe, and I love it. I am doing a lot of leg work, and this is the best choice of my life!

I decided to work in city. I love the action and the city at night. Also, I chose to work in a big city because being away from my home isn't something that I want. Indeed, I need to decide in which city I want to work. Should I chose to work in Montreal (SPVM) or in Laval?

I decided to work in a further region because I prefer to work with space and calm. I don't like the action of a big city and the danger. For this reason, should I work with the SQ and stay in Quebec or work with the GRC and work in another province?

Last year was my first year as a police officer in Mont-Laurier for the SQ. It is a beautiful city, and we are not as many police officers as in big cities like Montreal. I love it, and I am happy of my choice.

SPVM.

Last week, I started my OJT for the SPVM to become a police officer. I already feel more confident and I also already met many wonderful colleagues. I knew this wasn't going to be easy because there're many skills you need to know and practice. Indeed, I knew the majority of the ins-and-outs of this job, but OJT was the most effective way to learn the skills needed and to review the most important features. As a trainee, I need to adapt myself to this new environment by the bias of my motivation, even if sometimes it won't be easy. I chose Montreal because it is a big city with a lot of action. I love the diversity of this city and the fact that our days are always different. I am so happy of my choice and I won't change police force until my retirement.

I chose Laval because it is a city that I know very well and there are very good conditions for the police. It has been 5 years that I have been with the police of Laval. Should I stay there until my retirement or find another job in the same field?

Today, it has been two months that I am an intern for the GRC. However, I am really far from Quebec. For this reason, should I stay here or change police force?

I decided to stay in Laval until my retirement because I love this city and it is not so far from my home. I have a good wage that is worthwhile for my pension. I don't regret my choice!

Even if I love the region, I decided to come back in Quebec to work with a different police force because I feel more home. I don't regret my decision and I hope I could stay in Quebec until my retirement.

I decided to leave the police since I realized that it was not for me. However, I like the law and safety, so I decided to be a 9-1-1 dispatcher since it was less dangerous for me. Now, it has been 2 years that I have been a dispatcher and I love it!

I finally decided to stay where I am because I love the region and my colleagues.
