My Career after studying in Natural Sciences.

The beginning of my studies.

Freshly out of high school, I begin my studies at Montmorency College. I chose to study in natural sciences since this program offers a huge variety of possible careers related to it.

Choice 1 : Hard working.

Choice 2 : Procrastination.

College Montmorency

Hard working.

It was the second week of the semester and my teachers had already begun piling on the homework. After dinner, I gave my English homework a cursory glance and made a snap decision about my time management. I decided to put aside my phone for at least the next hour and to do the work needed to pull off straight A's. My work was rewarded at first, I pulled off some excellent grades at my first exams. But, as expected, it was hard for me to keep this great and thorough time management. I started to do my works in a more cursory way. Even though it was maddening to me at first, I remembered in a thoughtful way about what my English teacher said a couple weeks ago. It helped me to get back in the good direction and at the end of the semester, I pulled off some excellent results.

Choice 1 : Third session.

Good grades

Procrastination.

Right at the start of the session, I decided to take a rebel attitude and to keep doing my assignments on last minute. This was obviously a terrible idea since there is a huge quantity of work to be done daily in natural sciences. My grades at my first exam of every subject were all awful and I started the session way behind the rest of the group. This should have motivated me to work harder but at the opposite it did not warn me at all and I kept going with the same strategy for the rest f my session. I ended up failing more than half of my classes and had to pull out of the program. In the next session, I started to work like a good student in a new program, but this program was not the one I wanted to perform in.

Bad grades

Third session.

In my third session, I had to make the choice between continuing my studies in health or in pure and applied sciences. The health option is pushing chemistry and biology. Pure and applied sciences are pushing mathematics and physics.

Choice 1 : Health sciences.

Choice 2 : Pure and applied sciences.

Different paths

Health sciences.

I decided to continue my studies in health sciences. I quickly understood that I took the best decision for myself since a lot of my friends that had similar forces in school then me decided to drop out from pure and applied sciences. As I was working really hard to keep my average over 90, I still had no specific idea of what I wanted to become when I finish my studies. I also had a lot of different jobs while finishing my college, so I had a lot OJT, which gave me a lot of different experiences and a very decent wage. The only drawback with those jobs is that it was distracting me form choosing what I would want to study in university. I still was hesitating from trying to become a doctor or a pharmacist.

Choice 1 : Study to become a doctor.

Choice 2 : Study to become a pharmacist.

Health sciences

Pure and applied sciences.

I decided to continue my studies in pure and applied sciences. I quickly understood that I did not take the best decision for myself since a lot of my friends that had similar skills in school then me dropped out of this option pretty early in the third session. But I decided to keep working as hard as I did in the first two sessions to keep my hopes of becoming an architect alive. Between the third and fourth session, I decided to volunteer abroad on purpose in an in-depth place in the world to give my help to a community who needs it and to learn more about how life is outside of Quebec. This experience made me realise that I am very lucky to be able to study with the hope of gaining a lot of money and be a little bit higher than the middle class. When I came back to Canada to finish my fourth session, I put a lot less of pressure on myself about grades.

Choice 1 : Study to become an architect.

Choice 2 : Study to become a teacher of mathematics.

Choice 3 : Restart from the beginning.

Pure and applied sciences

Study to become a doctor.

I ended up choosing to continue my studies with the goal of becoming a doctor. I studied for eight years at the University of McGill. This was way harder than the two years that I passed at Montmorency College. But, all the experience I acquired by doing multiple OJT gave me the work ethic needed to get trough this very rough phase of my life. I did many internships during those eight years. I learned the ropes in some critical situations. But, I was always able to come in handy when it was needed to. I overwhelmed all the difficulties that the internship brought to me, I successfully passed this challenge. After eight years of hard-working, plus another two at Montmorency College, I finally got hired in the Sacre-Coeur Hospital.

Choice 1 : Retirement.

Doctor

Study to become a pharmacist.

I decided to study to become a pharmacist at the University of McGill. After pulling many terrible grades at exams and being called multiple a terrible trainee at internships, I decided to reconsider the idea that I took the incorrect decision. After dropping-out of the program, I decided to take a one-year break to potentially restart my studies to try becoming a pediatric. But during this break, I discover that I had a hidden talent in chess and I could potentially become a great player. I decided to invest a lot of time in this game and five years later, I became one of the best players in the world.

Retirement.

After many years of working in the Sacre-Coeur Hospital, I decided to retire at the age of 65. I finished paying the mortgage seven years before I retired. I could have decided to work for two or three additional years but the drive of work convinced me to do otherwise. The pension helped me to hold during my last years.

I decided to pursuit my studies at the University of McGill with the goal of becoming an architect. It took me six years to eventually achieve my dream. During those six years, I had to go through different internships. It was challenging for me but I still had a great work ethic, acquired from two hard years at Montmorency College and a volunteering experience. I ended up getting hired by Studio AD and worked many years for them.

Study to become a teacher of mathematics.

I ended up studying at McGill University for seven years with the hope to teach mathematics at a university. I had to go through some tough internships, but I already had a great work ethic acquired by volunteering abroad and studying to years in natural sciences at Montmorency College. After eight years of hard-working, I got hired by the University of Montreal and worked there for many years.

Restart from the beginning.

After my volunteering experience between my third and fourth session, I decided to volunteer abroad for a second time at the end of my last session. This second experience made me realise that I do not want to have a job related with sciences. I started to give a lot of work in my community to help people in need. I studied in literature to later become a famous author about social classes and poverty.
