This semester was a hard one. From the get-go, I had very little motivation to care about anything. By staying home all the time, I could feel my brain becoming more and more numb. I was also losing all creativity, which is horrible since I am in the Visual Arts Program at the Montmorency College. Without creativity, all my artwork would look boring and unimaginative. I would be disappointed in myself and, on top of that, I wouldn't get very good grades. Even on the first day, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get through the second semester of the year.
Choice 1 : Participate to my first class of this semester.
Choice 2 : Sleep instead of participating to my first class this semester.

I decided to wake up and participate to my class. I do not regret this decision, because the teacher gave some valuable information about the upcoming months. She explained how her class will function and told us of all the material we needed. She also gave us our first assignment. We had too do many drawing exercises and get started on our first big project. I was not necessarily happy about that though because I already felt the work piling up.
Choice 1 : Do my assignments of the session in an organized manner.
Choice 2 : Remove a few courses because I feel overwhelmed.
I decided to not set an alarm and sleep through my first class. When I eventually woke up, I felt well-rested, but after seeing all of my friend's texts I started to stress. They had told me that I missed so much, and that they would help me as best as they could. But, unfortunately, they couldn't necessarily remember everything. I regretted my decision to sleep, since it caused additional stress. The teacher had explained all the art mediums we were going to use and even showed how to work with a few of them. I now had to figure it out on my own.
Choice 1 : Do my best to stay caught up the rest of the session.
Choice 2 : Take a break and drop out of this semester.
I organized myself as best as I could and I passed all of my courses, but at the cost of my mental health being damaged. On top of that, I didn't necessarily get amazing grades, since I was quite overwhelmed with my multiple courses. My art pieces all looked bland and I wasn't proud of them at all. Because of this I didn't get accepted into the University I wanted to the most, the Vancouver Film School.
Choice 1 : Go to my second choice university, NAD.
Choice 2 : Reapply to my first choice university for the upcoming semester.
I was quite happy that I had removed a few of my classes because I was able to complete the semester successfully and in a relaxed manner. I surprisingly even enjoyed the semester since I had time for myself unlike the previous ones. I was able to hang out with my friends, whom I missed very much, while respecting the Covid measures put in place, of course. Doing so helped calm my mind and allowed me to continue my studies with more gusto. I was extremely proud of all the art pieces I had done, They were all very detailed and worked on. The only consequence is that I had to add another semester in order to complete all my required courses.
Choice 1 : Pursue my next semester with the same energy.
Choice 2 : Change my college and continue there.
