The beginning of my journey.

I always dreamed of being a lawyer because I love having an impact on someone's life. I did my research when I was younger and I understood very quickly that I needed straight A's if I wanted to fulfill my dream. As I grew old and studied more to achieve my dream I felt overwhelm by the amount of work I had to put in order to be a straight A student, but it was necessary since at the end of all, the biggest exam I had to take was the bar exam.

This is the most important moment of my life. I am currently one day away from passing the bar exam. This exam is essential if I want to make my dream come true, which is to be an attorney. The bar exam is the first step and it will allow me to apply in several firms. It is nerve-wracking to know that one day, one moment, one exam could completely change my life for the better or the worse. This is what I've been studying for all my life.

This is the last day before my bar exam but since I've been studying all year long and for the biggest part of my life I think I need a break and should go out with my friends to steam off the stress and just relax. I am sure that it will help me perform better tomorrow since I am more relaxed.

It was a very hard exam but I did it! I passed! I knew I had to study all night to have the confidence to do well. Now I can finally apply for a job or an internship since big companies will not take you for a permanent job on the spot.

Failed the bar exam.

I was dreading this moment. I went to party with my friends, and I thought it was the right decision to make since I've been studying my whole life for this moment, but I was wrong. I stayed way too late with them and when I came home I realized I only had 3 hours left before my exam. I decided to sleep and I woke up late. That cost me 1 hour of my precious time during the bar, so at the end I couldn't finish it.

The only choice I have left is to redo the exam the next year. Even if it's a drawback for me, I have hope that I will learn from this mistake and do better next year. Also, I will be even more prepared and I'm sure I will succeed the next time.

In the meantime, I have to get myself another job. I failed the bar test, so I cannot apply for internships or jobs in law firms. All I can do is try to get myself some job interviews for student jobs and earn some money. I will not benefit of the premium wage from being a lawyer in training and it's maddening because I really wanted a better income but I know that it will be worthwhile. At the end, I will find another solution and maybe another career path that I would have never even thought about.

I applied for a job in a big company but it took some time before they called me back. They had to do a background check on me to be sure I studied Law and passed the bar exam. It was the HR department of the company who called me asking to speak with me. I was surprised because I never thought they would really consider me as an asset to their company. Now, they will provide for the training and if they see that I fit in the company and I do everything well and thoroughly they will give me a chance in a permanent position. They also explained to me what I will learn as a trainee, such as the ins-and-outs of the company, the office politics and on-the-job training as well. This will all come handy if I want to pursue a career in another company for example. The most important thing is to not get sucked in the work and also have some time for myself since this internship will most likely to be hard but essential since it will act as a foot in the door for my dream.

The HR team of the company I applied for left a message in my voicemail telling me that I needed to come to the headquarters to begin my training with them. The thing is, even if I studied and management my time during my studies, I haven't developed my time management skills as much as my other skills necessary for the job. I forgot to answer and I sadly forgot to go. I tried calling them when I realized that it was too late to present myself at the office, but they shut me down and told me that it was a one-time opportunity and that I missed it.

After another year of studying to redo the bar exam, I finally achieved my goal. I passed it! I am very proud of myself for not giving up so easily despite the mistake I made last year that costed me another year of studying. I did it!
