A Little bit About Me.

Hi, my name is Sabrina. I am 19 years old. I’m studying in Natural Sciences at Cegep of Thetford. Right now, I am really desperate because I am seriously thinking about my future. Covid-19 has destroyed a big part of my life. I have no longer a high level of motivation because everything is so HARD since it started. I know that Covid-19 has definitely poured my future. Because of it, I kind of forgot myself. Since it started, I am rushing so much at school. I have always loved school, but now I hate that so much. There are always misunderstandings with an online semester. I do not know if I still have the capacity or the energy to fight for my future. Presently, my head is like an erupting volcano [Simile]. Here is the big question: What should I do after Cegep?

Choice 1 : Continue School.

Choice 2 : Take a Break From School.

Continue School.

Maybe, I will find the motivation to study in a field that really passionate me. With some motivation, I will find a way to make my studies easier. There is still a big choice to make because I am not exactly sure of what studies I should make. What program should I apply to?

Choice 1 : Apply to an Education Program.

Choice 2 : Apply to a Business Program.

Take a Break From School.

Maybe, I will not find the motivation to go to university. That is all the fault of Covid-19. It is so insane! [Hyperbole] I would never have imagined such a thing. I would never have thought a virus could have affected my whole future like that. I am really mad at the virus because I may regret my decision of taking a break from school for my whole life, but I know I need that break. My head is filled with too many things, so that is why I need to take a break. Will I take a definitive break or an unofficial break from school?

Apply to an Education Program.

If I apply to an Education Program, I will choose the one to become a mathematics’ teacher because I really love math. It is one of my favorite classes. Once my mastery will be acquired, I will start teaching mathematics to High School students. I am going to be happy because I love to work with kids. After working for a few years, I will probably buy a house, so I will be able to start creating my own family.

Apply to a Business Program.

If I apply to a Business Program, I will choose Law and Life Sciences. I would really love that program because I hate injustice so much and I love Sciences. As a lawyer, I will be able to inform clients, to prepare specific acts, to find a solution that is going to be fair, etc. A program like that is great because, with the sciences class, I will be able to work in a medical way. For example, I could be the one thinking about medical assistance in dying because there is the law part and the science part.

A Definitive Break.

If I take a definitive break, I know I will absolutely relax and start working after that. First of all, I will travel a little bit around the Globe. I will relax, discover and enjoy my trip. I am not going to travel for so long because I do not want to have big debts. Second of all, I will start working at a place where I do not need a Cegep or a University diploma. My Natural Sciences’ diploma is not going to help me even if I worked really hard. In fact, I will apply somewhere, maybe as a cashier.

An Unofficial Break.

If I take an unofficial break, I will enjoy life a few months and go back to school after. To begin my break, I will travel. I will take time for myself, for thinking about my future more seriously while traveling. I will reconnect with my own self that I kind of lost because of the restrictions of Covid-19 and I will feel more comfortable to choose my field of study at University.
