Starting a new chapter.

This session, I'm finishing my 3 years nursing technique at Montmorency College. I finally finished and I have my diploma in my pocket. It was hard and painful for me, but I succeeded. Now what do I do?

Choice 1 : I'm going to University.

Choice 2 : I go work as a nurse.

I'm going to Montreal University.

I'm happy to go to Montreal University. This training will complete my lack of knowledge and allow me to be a more competent nurse and have a better income in the future for my family.

Choice 1 : I continue university.

Choice 2 : I stop my studies because I am no longer able to pay my bills.

Choice 3 : I stop my studies because I was sexually harassed by another student..

I continue my studies despite my financial problems.

I do not have much income because I study full time and I have 4 children's. My mom is going to lend me money she set aside for an emergency, so I can finish my studies. Finally I'm breathing a little.

I'm going to work in the same psychiatry department where I did my internship last session. I realy liked the work team. I think I will love working there. My boss wants to send me to work in CHSLD to help up because of the Covid-19 pandemic. What do I do?

My nurse job at Philippe-Pinel Institute.

I met an HR person from the institute at the College at a job fair looking for people to fill their vacant positions. They explained to me all the advantages of the job as well as their compensation package, the retirement pension, the premium wage and the good wage of theirs nurses working for them. I had an interview which I successfully passed and I also had to pass a background check to have the job. I'm proud of myself.

Choice 2 : I get attacked by a patient and I quit the job.

My nurse job in an orthopedic surgery department.

I like to work in this department. During my training I went there as a trainee. Last summer I work as an extern nurse and I learn the ropes of orthopedic surgery in this department. This experience give me additional specialized on-the-job-training. That job allow me to have a foot in the door in the hospital and give me that job.

The drawback of orthopedic surgery.

Unfortunately this work is very stressful, the patients come to be operated and do not always go well. The nurses are quickly overwhelmed by all the work to do to care for our patients.Overtime is frequent and often we have no choice but to stay at work. I have a family, what do I do?

I met my patient who was very agitated and I did not take enough precaution, he pushed me into the wall. He was quickly mastered. I am shaken. My team supports me and protect me. I stay in my job our work team is so good.
