The beginning of a new life.

Special Care Counseling is very complex because we work with human. Before the end of my studies, I have an internship to do to see if I am ready enough to start a new career. I really like school and it's my kind of dream job but I'm not sure that I would be good. I know someone who can help me. Tessa is an amazing educator in a high school. Maybe, she can give me advice.

The director of the school welcomes me and tell me about the office politics and all the rules. It is a beautiful place where I think I have a foot in the door. It is a nice opportunity to be an intern here because school is a dream job for me. I have the chance to see if I like it or not. The director asks me if I want to visit the school with him.

Tessa.

Tessa was a teacher for ten years. After, she wanted new challenges, and she became an educator in a high school. We talked for two hours, and Tessa told me one thing that I will always remember, "life is short, and if you want to do an internship, just do it". She is right. I should do this job training. I will do it for myself, I worked hard.

My guide makes me the visit of the school, and she explains to me what I would do for the internship. After fifteen minutes of discussion with my her, I volunteer to do a new case. It is a fight between two kids in a schoolyard. When I arrived in the yard, I saw that it wasn't just a fight. They are three boys of eleven years old who are bullying a young boy of seven years old.

I pull off the guys of the poor little boy. I didn't though of asking their names because I was to concern of the injuries of the kid. I try to keep my calm but it's not easier than it looks. I can't tell there is no action in my trainee.

Help.

It's my first day, and I am not sure of what I can do or not. I decide to wait for help to come. When other educators arrive, they ask me to take care of the little boy. He is not conscious, and I can't wake him up by calling his name. But the worst, is that he isn't even breathing.

Tragedy.

While removing other kids from the horrible scene, I don't think about the little boy's life. I am terrify. My misconduct took his life away.

Relief.

He finally came back to life. I was so scared. I took the first aid course for my career but I never though that I would use it. I have saved his life. It's an extraordinary emotion. This experiment brought me a lot of relief. I didn't choose this job for the wage. I want to help people and save them, like I did. Two day later, I learned Jamie's death. This poor boy had a heart disease and it killed him.

It is a beautiful school where I think I will love it. It looks like an art basement. It's so joyful and it brings me a huge smile just by being here. Plus, The employees are really sweet to me. Time to go rejoin my guide.

Jamie.

The poor little boy didn't seem good, so I take him in the school. I was conscious but I think it's for long, so I carried the child. When his teacher came, she was in a panic mood. She said that he had a heart disease and every punch in his heart is dangerous. I was very angry, and she asked me who did this to him. I told her that I didn't take their names because I was too concern about Jamie. It's his name.

Ian.

Ian is an eleven-year-old boy. His parents are dead since he was two years old. He lives in his foster home for four years. It's not easy for him. He told me that he didn't mean to hurt Jamie. His two friends told him that he wasn't game to push Jamie, and he did it. The two boys started to fight, and we all know the rest of the story. While Ian was telling me what happened an educator came to tell us the end of the story, "Jamie was an awesome boy but now, he is a beautiful angel".

It is a colourful place. I know that I will like it here. I am very excited of the idea of working here someday. But for now, I have to find my guide.

He opens his eyes and said in a whispering voice, "thank you". I don't know why but it touches me a lot. It was the first and the last thing he told me. He closed his eyes to never open them again. I am doing this job to help people to find peace with themself. I am pretty sure that Jamie found peace up there.
