Just finished high school!

I almost finished high school. It was time. I was a victim of sexual harassment at school two years ago and even though it was finished, my school was not a happy place for me. The only thing I will miss from high school is my internship in Guatemala. It was a really nice experience. Now, I have to choose what I will do in the future. I have to decide whether I get a dead-end job, I go to CEGEP or I do a Diploma of Vocational Studies.

Choice 1 : Get a dead-end job.

Get a dead-end job.

I started working at a camping in St-Calixte. It is called Atlantide. I am the cashier in the small restaurant. I like it, but I am getting tired of hearing the maddening stories of Miranda, my boss. There will soon be a zoo at the camping. There will be lions, ostriches, bears, monkeys, camels and a bunch of cool animals. I wonder if I keep my job at the restaurant or I if I go work at the zoo. The advantage of keeping my job is that I have tips. What should I do?

Choice 1 : I keep my job.

Choice 2 : I go work at the zoo.

Going to CEGEP.

Going to CEGEP will allow me to get more than the minimum wage in a dead-end job. I am hesitating between two programs. Whether I choose to study dental hygiene in Terrebonne or business management in Montreal. I have to consider Terrebonne is closer than Montreal for me. I have to think about the traffic and paying gas.

Choice 1 : Study dental hygiene at Terrebonne.

Choice 2 : Study business management at Montreal.

Do a Diploma of Vocational Studies.

I decided to do a Diploma of Vocational Studies at L' École Hotelière des Laurentides in Sainte-Adèle. I am learning pastry making. I realized it was very difficult to earn money. There is still one year left before the end of my studies. I am wondering if I finish until the end or I go to CEGEP instead.

Choice 1 : Quit and go to CEGEP.

Choice 2 : Finish my DVS.

I keep my job.

Keeping my job was not a fantastic choice. I missed my chance to work at the zoo. There were no more vacant positions. I worked at the restaurant for 47 years until the age of 65 years old.

Choice 1 : Time for retirement!

I go work at the zoo.

My new work at the zoo is amazing. I feed the animals, and I am in charge of the farm. I like it a lot. I have the opportunity to go work with the lions. I could stay at the farm, but I would have a better salary if I go work with the lions.

Time for retirement!

For my retirement, I live with my pension and money I have put aside during many years. To occupy myself, I decided to come in handy and do voluntary work in my city. I lived a calm and basic life.

Study dental hygiene at Terrebonne.

I really like my program. I made new friends, and I am excited to start working for real. I also thought about becoming a dental public health professional. Although, working in a cabinet seems very interesting too.

Choice 1 : Become a dental public health professional.

Choice 2 : Work in a cabinet.

Study business management at Montreal.

This program is hard. There are a lot of things to remember. I am determined and I will finish it. After, I will start my own management company. I will manage the social medias of different companies by publishing ads, contests, analyzing the statistics, etc. Depending on which company you are working for, you can do a lot of money and even be rich. The most important thing is to give and excellent client service and obviously, do a great job!

I finished my DVS. I am now working in a luxury hotel. I make a lot of money. With all that money, when I retire, I will buy a new car a do a lot of trips. My dream is to go in Africa and help the ones in need. Giving back and sharing is important!

Become a dental public health professional.

Working with kids and learn them how to keep a good dental health makes me very happy. I will keep my job until my retirement. I am well-paid and my work is appreciated. Teachers always give me good comments. This is what makes me proud of me and the efforts I put for my presentations to be interesting for the children.

Work in a cabinet.

I made the right decision. Working in a cabinet is something I appreciate a lot. My colleagues are the best. They are also friends. We go to the restaurant and go watch movies together. We are a solid team! I wake up every morning, and I am happy to go to work. Also, I won at the lottery, so I do not have to worry about my retirement. I put aside a big amount of money. Saving money can be stressful, and I am lucky not having to worry about this.

My business.

My business is working very well. I am doing campaigns with Pepsi, Amazon, Adidas, Couche tard and many others. It is unbelievable. I studied three years and I have been able to realize a big project like this. It is a dream come true. I plan on selling my company before retiring. I also have children. If they are interested, it would be a pleasure for me to help them. I never thought when I started CEGEP that I could realize something as big as that. I thought it was only for the ones who studied at university, and I was wrong. This is the best life I could have lived.
