Choosing a subject for your study.

In your class of methodology, your teacher asks you to choose a subject that you will later on do research on it. After, sometimes you came with two ideas. You hesitate between them.

Choice 1 : Depression in college.

Choice 2 : The impact of authority on people

Looking for sources.

Now that you have made your choice, you have to start searching for sources. By typing "depression in college" in the search bar thousand of result appear. After some hours of browsing on the web you're down with two sources that seems interesting, long enough, to have a lot of information and that could come in handy. A newspaper article and a university memoir.

Finally after making your choice, you started your hunt for sources for your study. You begin by searching for an experiment report. Not to long after you found one that seem promising. Also, during your research for sources you found a university memoir that was talking about the impact of the authority.

You stop your choice on the newspaper. Now you have to check if it's a reliable source. After some minutes, you found that a journalist write it for the local college in 2015.

You finally chose the university memoir. But now you have to check if it's a reliable source. You found that this memoir was write in 2018, by a student in psychology at the University of Montreal.

By choosing the report you now have to check if the source is reliable. So, by digging a little bit you found that the experiment was done in 1991 by a teacher in psychology at McGill University.

After so long searching for sources you're not sure if you want to keep searching for other sources so you hesitated. You aren't the best when it comes to your time management so you are afraid that you might not be able to finish on time if you keep searching for another source. Some days after you've finish you research and give it to your teacher you receive you grade. You failed the work! There was a note at the end " A newspaper is not a reliable source. It's not write by professional and might be bias."

After making your choice you still had some doubt should you take the other source? There was a lack of information it was almost if each time you make a choice with a subject there's almost nothing on the subject. Did life want you to suffer on purpose?

Some days later, after giving your work to your teacher you receive your grade. You pass! The teacher even let a not on the back "wonderful choice of source!" You were so proud of yourself! Now the dread of failing is over and you don't have to stress for the other assignment.

You decide to go see your teacher for some clarification.

Another chance.

After a long talk with you teacher about how you thought it was unfair that you failed the work, so by putting a foot in the door you tell her that because she never tells that there was a requirement in the date of your sources it was indeed unfair to not have you pass the assignment. You were able to pull of a second chance, but you had to take another subject. Now you were stuck either you redo all of the hard work you did or you keep the grade you have now and hope to get a better one at the next assignment.
