Life Changing Decisions.

The beginning of it all.

It's the first week of college. Thinking about my future makes me feel stressful. I have to make all the right decisions.

Choice 1 : Focus on school.

Choice 2 : Watch Netflix over homework.

Decision

Focus on school.

It was the first week of the semester and my teachers had already begun piling on the homework. After dinner, I gave my English homework a cursory glance and made a snap decision about my time management. I decided to finally start my homework, after an hour of procrastination and do it thoroughly. Even though it was maddening and I would prefer to do anything else, I was able to pull it off. This semester, I really want to get straight A's, so I decided that this semester, I won't put my homework aside anymore, I will do it without any complains.

Choice 1 : What am I going to do now?

Homework

Watch Netflix over homework.

It was the second week of the semester and my teachers had already begun piling on the homework. After dinner, I gave my English homework a cursory glance and made a snap decision about my time management. I decided to put aside my homework. Homework can wait. I prefer to watch my favorite show on Netflix. It's the end of semester, I failed. I have no other choice but work at a minimum wage restaurant, as a waitress. Which one sounds better?

Choice 1 : Carlo's Pizzeria

Choice 2 : Sweet Cafe

Netflix

Carlo's Pizzeria.

Ho no. I shouldn't have picked this crappy place. I have a bad feeling about the coworkers, but I have no choice, I really need the money. I have to keep the job.

Choice 1 : Keep the crappy job.

pizza

Sweet Cafe.

Good job. I think I made the right decision, Sweet Cafe is a great place for opportunities. My boss like me so much that I get upgraded to the cafe's headquarter. I have no choice but accept the job.

Choice 1 : Accept the job offer.

cafe

Accept the job offer.

Congrats to me! I got upgraded to HR. I personally think that HR plays a major role in a company. By dealing with the employees, the pensions, the salary, the leave of absences and most of the hiring, they definitely are the heart of the company and I feel honored that they asked me for it. Without them dealing with that stuff, it would probably be a real mess. I am happy to do it, I feel like I finally had a purpose. I can settle on this job for the rest of my life. I get to have a happy life.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

hr

Keep the crappy job.

I never should have kept the job. I can no longer say that I am grateful that I never have experienced sexual harassment at work. I was the recipient of some flirtation and not in a fun way, it was in a form of a misconduct. The perpetrator did some unforgivable thing. I used to hear about all of those horror stories and it was in fact dreading me a little because it did happen at a previous workplace. Fortunately both my perpetrator and the one from my previous job had some serious consequences. I can now imagine the consequences of the victims for those act. I am not myself anymore and I want to quit.

Choice 1 : Quit.

sad

Quit.

I made the right choice. I can now live a happy life and not have to face him again.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

happy

What am I going to do now?

After years of hard work, I finally finished College. What am I going to do from now on?

Choice 1 : Internship.

Choice 2 : Volunteer abroad.

Choice 3 : Part time job.

career choice

Internship.

I never did an internship before, it'll be my first. I am ready to learn about all the ropes of the job, so I don't feel overwhelmed on my first day as a veterinarian. I am sure that being an intern will really help me figure out if I liked this job or not, If it is the right one for me. It will be like a test drive to confirm that the job is a good one for me and after the internship I could be a real trainee.

Choice 1 : Becoming a trainee.

internship

Volunteer abroad.

I did a lot of volunteering in my life. The main thing that I volunteered for is giving breakfast for kids. I really enjoyed it and I had a purpose, I wanted to help kids. Though I did some volunteering, I never thought of doing it abroad, maybe it's time to try it? The more I think of it, the more advantages appears in my head. The experience in general seems to bring a lot of good things, the only disadvantage is that it seems very scary. The fact that you are going away from your family and in an unknown place with other languages seem very scary but I will face my fears and do it.

Choice 1 : Go for it.

Choice 2 : Stay home.

volunteer

Part time job.

I need money. Maybe, I should wait to get a real job. I got all my life to work as a veterinarian, right now, I should just live and make the most fun out of it... and money as well.

Choice 1 : Part time job.

part time job

Becoming a trainee.

This week is a big week for me. I will officially start a new job, after being an intern for weeks. I never really had a real job before, and I am not gonna lie, it's time for a change. I am going to be a trainee at veterinary center and I'm quite exciting about it. Tuesday, I will receive my first day of OJT from an employee. I don't think that I will face any drawback because the employee training me is my best friend plus, I've been an intern for quite some times, so I am kinda used to the environment. She will teach me all the ins-and-outs about the job, and I am pretty sure she will help me get rid of the last bias I have about the job.

Choice 1 : The reality of a trainee.

trainee

The reality of a trainee.

I don't want to get involved in any drama. I find it really difficult not to get sucked up in office politics. It happens more frequently than I would like. With my new job, I am trying to stay low, so I don't get caught up in any drama, but more often than not, people are getting sucked up in gossips, so I find myself in it too. As coworker, it's important to work as a team and not to withhold any information from the group. I find it also really important not to undermine anyone. These are excellent ways to become more effective and work in a safe environment that is also fun, but yesterday, I heard Sylvie talking bad about my friend. I don't know what I should do.

Choice 1 : Get caught up in it.

Choice 2 : Stay out of it.

op

Get caught up in it.

I should never have done that. After all that drama, they blamed me for it. They decided that the best thing to do was to fire me.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

caught up in

Stay out of it.

It was definitely the right choice to do. I got to have a beautiful career. Grateful for it.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

stay out of it

Part time job.

I should've go with the other choices. By working only part-time, I often feel a lack of fulfillment and feel powerless. By only working there part-time, I am not as important as somebody else that works full time and overtime. Even-though I don't always feel at my best with my work, I know that I am gaining experience little by little. I also know that I am doing accomplishment that are useful to the company. I hope that soon, I won't feel powerless and won't make feel the others powerless. I will try to make the best of it not only for myself but for the others too.

Choice 1 : Make the best of it.

Choice 2 : Stay miserable.

part time jobbb

Make the best of it.

Good choice. Even though it wasn't my dream job, I made the best of it, and I am happy. Let's see what's next with this job.

Choice 1 : What's next?

good life

Stay miserable.

Shoot. Shouldn't have made that decision. It was a bad decision, and I am unhappy.

Choice 1 : Go back.

miserable

What's next?

I personally don't think that I ever seen corruption in real life. I mean I've seen it on television a lot but, seeing it in a part-time job is another thing. I probably think that it's more common in bigger company and bigger job. Even though I never experienced real hardcore corruption I've seen some threats, even if they were put funnily way, the background of it was still wrong. I also seen some stealing. I do think that bribing, stealing and threatening shouldn't have its place anywhere but one of my coworkers threatened me into doing it.

Choice 1 : Get involved into corruption.

Choice 2 : Ask for help.

corruption

Get involved into corruption.

Wasn't a good idea at all. I should have asked for help. Now I have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

prison

Ask for help.

Ho. I made the right decision. My coworker got fired and I got promoted, I am very happy.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

help

Stay there.

Such a good decision. I love it so much out there. I will be happy for the rest of my life.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.

go

Come back home.

Congrats to me. I came back and got to be a vet for the rest of my career but it's now time for me to retire.

Choice 1 : Retire.

vet

Retire.

I definitely used to think that retirement seemed like a stressful time. Even-though at this time I probably wouldn't have to pay a mortgage anymore, living on your pension doesn't seem like enough to make plans, like to travel. I was hoping that by this time, I wouldn't have worked with much drudgery and not drown in stressful drive of work. I wanted to make my life as happy as I can and for that, I wanted to enjoy my work. It would've been the best of both worlds, loving your job and making enough money to live a very happy retirement and now, all of my fears have disappeared. I can happily say that I lived a happy career and that I am happy. I do not have worries anymore.

Choice 1 : The beginning of it all.
