It is my first week of the semester in Cinema at Montmorency College. There are a lot of things I need to manage and I must do all the good choices to have a chance for me to get a good career.

It was the second week of the semester and my teachers had already begun piling on the homework. After dinner, I gave my Cinema homework a cursory glance and made a snap decision about my time management. I decided to start my homework and do it thoroughly. I wasn't able to put aside my homework because I want to have straight A's. Even do it was maddening, I was able to pull-off. Now that I'm done with this one, I have to be thoughtful with the other's I do not want to be late in my different courses. I'm sure all of my efforts are going to pay at the end of the semester.

After dinner, I gave my Cinema homework a cursory glance and made a snap decision about my time management. I decided to put aside my homework and go party with my new friends. The next classe, my teacher announces that we will have to pass a surprise test. The test was on the lightning on a set. I needed to enlighten a subject with a backlighting, a key lighting and the available light around us. I was really maddening with this and didn't know how to do this, so I quit the class.

All of my work finally paid! During the summer vacation, I was a OJT on a professional set. I had a lot to learn, but all of my colleagues were very patient with me. When I was a trainee, they were a lot of drawback. I wasn't able to give my best with the camera because I didn't know all the tricks of a real cameraman. I was not able to do a good pan and a good close-up on the actors. Also, sometimes the producer was impatient with me because I was a little slow between all the different shots. During my OJT I got a wage like all the other employees. Even though sometimes during my training some of my colleagues were giving me some bias about the job, today, I got the ins-and-outs for everything in my job and I love it. I need to choose if I go back to university after summer vacation or if I continue with this crew on different set.

I decided to pause my study to take time for me. I made new friends and start to build a social life. After this amazing week, I didn't want to continue studying because I was enjoying my time way to munch. I also need to think about my future career as a Movie Director. What am I going to do?

My first goal when I registered for Cinema was to be a Movie Director. To have this amazing career I need to work hard and do my homework every week. I need to practice my technical skills with the camera. I need to be able to do perfect transition in montage and be able to do perfect zoom. I finally found a way to have good time management between school and social life, but I have to continue this good work until the end of the semester. I hope all of my efforts are going to pay one day.

Class can wait, party is so cool! I'm sure I can still have good grates even if I'm not working at all. Ok, maybe it is not that easy. I need to choose what I'm going to do for the exam in production because I didn't start to write my scenario and it's for next week.

Stay with the crew.

I decided to stay with the crew for a couple of times. I gained a lot of experience and I've got the chance to sign a contract with Martin Scorsese. I am so happy! I never taught I could have a chance like that in my whole life.

It now the time of big decision. I need to choose which university I 'm going to go for the rest of my film studies. I need to compare each program and looks what is the best for me.

I chose Concordia University. It an excellent choice. This university has a good reputation for Cinema studies. University takes all of my time. It difficult and I need to put a lot of efforts in it. I'm starting to be discouraged by the program. What should I do?

I chose Montreal University. It an excellent choice. This university has a good reputation for Cinema studies. University takes all of my time. It difficult and I need to put a lot of efforts in it. I 'm starting to be discouraged by the program. What should I do?

I decided to leave the program. It is not what I was expecting from those film studies. It more stressful than I thought. We need to balance every shot we film, have different camera angles and have a perfect editing, every time. It's really difficult. I am now working at Colossus and I'm happy giving popcorn to the customers. I think I finally found my vocation.

I decided to give it a try and it was clearly a good thing. My teacher said that she has found two opportunities for me, for after the semester. She found me a project of volunteering abroad and an internship. I need to decide. I don't know which one is the best for my future career...

Even though I was giving my best every day at school, Cegep is not for me and Cinema clearly is not a good career for me. I'm now working 40 hrs a week at McDonald until I find the good program. I hope it is not going to take a long time because I 'm already starting to be bored doing hamburgers.

It was not the best idea I had. The teacher caught me and sent my to the director. I'm force out from the college. My career is ruin.

Do the internship.

I chose the right thing for me! This summer I am going to do an internship in Greece. I will be an intern for 2 weeks. I am currently studying cinema and I want to learn the ropes of my future career. It's going to be my first foot in the door. I am really excited to get start and see if this job fit me. I would be able to test drive the director career, the cameraman career and the producer career in this internship. I'm glad that I had the chance to do this internship because I think it's not common and it's going to give me a good view of the cinema career. Thanks to my teacher.

Go volunteering abroad.

Once in my life, I would love to go volunteering abroad. I think all students need to try it before start a job. There are a lot of advantages to go volunteering abroad. You can learn a new language and you can make new friends. You learn new things about a different culture and this is invaluable. But there is still some disadvantages, that can make you skeptical about it. First, you are far from your home during a long period. Second, you are not paid and finally you may find it difficult to learn a new language in a different country of yours. I think that go volunteering abroad it's a purpose that everybody should have even if you are afraid of it. But I don't think it's the right thing for a Cinema student like me.

I am now working at a chic restaurant, and I am working with people who are doing office politics. It is really difficult for me to not get undermined about her because she is not working at all at the restaurant. More often than not she is gossiping about other employees, or she is flirting with the cook. She is just hindering the job of the other workers. I talked about her office politics to my boss, but she didn't do anything. I quit my job because at the end it was not fun at all to work in this environment.

I finally found the perfect job for me. I'm happy, but there are still some problems that I don't know how to solve them. In my study field, it really common to hear stories about sexual harassment. First of all, being a woman in cinema it's more difficult for us than for a man. I think that a lot of people of power on a set has misconduct actions on women to get what they want. All perpetrators should be ashamed of what they are doing. I know it sometimes difficult to make a difference between a flirt and a sexual harassment, but both should not be acceptable on a professional environment. The recipient of those actions is traumatized for the rest of her life and I think sexual harassment should never exist.

I'm sure I'm going to have a good career in cinema, but before starting working I want to travel and see the world. When I'm going to come back, I will have a lot of experiences to tell in different stories and I could write scenarios and movies with this.

It's time for change! I know it difficult to found the perfect job, but I think I just found mine! Thanks to Human Resources of Columbia Pictures Production for this amazing job. Human resources are people that I met a lot of times in my life. HR is the person in charge of fulling a vacant position. I met them because I was hired by them. They told me during the interview the compensation package that I will have if I accept the job. This package include benefits, salary, and vacations. I finally accepted the job and the HR told me the next steps I will have to do to become a member of the company. I was really happy to become a member of this company and thankful to the HR person who was so kind to me during all this process.

Problems are bigger than before on this set. As a script, I'm a discrete person on the set and I can observe people.Here it's really often to see corruption. Many of the technicians are not paid enough and want more money. When you start working here you have to sign a contract and it's really ingrained. A lot of the employee give bribe to the boss to have a promotion. Even though I know my job is not the best, I would never threat the name of the company to have a better salary. I think when you do this you are actually doing an act of theft from the company. This is something that nobody should do to resolve money problems. It's a negative environment work here.

I finally had succeeded! I achieved my biggest life goal! Become a Movie Director. I have a plenty of contracts that are coming and I have a plenty of ideas for a new movie. All of my efforts are finally paying back. I am a famous Movie Director. I am travelling every wear with celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman. I can hear my name when I'm walking on the Hollywood Boulevard know for: Hollywood fame Boulevard. My dream comes true!

When the times of my retirement will come I don't know if I'm going to be happy or not. I am someone who loves to work and during this part of my life, I am going to miss the drive of work. Being retires also means that I can pass all the rest of my life doing what I love and this is exciting. I'm not afraid for the financial part of the retirement, with the pension and the set aside I'm pretty sure I'm going to be okay. Retirement it's in a long time and I still have a plenty of times to prepare, so I should not be thinking about this right now. I have a Movie to produce!
