My future career.

Being a psychologist has always been a dream of mine from as far as I can remember. I have been fascinated by the field of Psychology as soon as I heard about it, it's a complex field of study but it helps a lot with understanding the people around us and their behaviors. Now, as a 19-year old, I can finally start the process of my life long dream which becoming a successful psychologist. Achieving this goal is not going to be easy as I have to make very important decisions that will have a huge impact on my future. As of right now, I am finishing my studies at Ahuntsic College, and I have applied to different Universities in order to continue my studies.

Choice 1 : Go to U.Q.A.M. University. (Choice 1).

Choice 2 : Go to Concordia University. (Choice 2).

Choice 3 : Take a one-year break from school. (Choice 3).

After I finished my studies at Ahuntsic College, I applied to U.Q.A.M. University to get a PhD in psychology. The following years were the best years of my life. I met my husband at the U.Q.A.M. campus, and I got to meet many people that are now very present in my life. After I got my PhD, I found an amazing job as a psychologist in a children's hospital. I get to help people in need every day which fills me with joy and satisfaction. I feel accomplished as I have the job of my dreams and I have never been happier. However seeing children that young suffer from such aggressive diseases makes me want to work with people that suffer a little less since it is making me very sad and I sometimes can't sleep from thinking about it.

After graduating from Ahuntsic College, I got to continue my studies in psychology at Concordia University. At first, I was very excited to be in this field of study but I had a few disagreements with my teachers. The first few years were okay, but as the time past by I realized that this field of study is not exactly what I thought it was. Being constantly in contact with problematic people who suffer from different mental illnesses isn't as easy as I taught. I still couldn't get my PhD as it was to difficult for me but I got a Major in psychology and I got a job as a school worker which I hate to help me to pay my school debt.

After I graduated from Ahuntsic College, I decided to take a break from school and get a full time job in order to help me pay for my studies when I decide to go back to school. As time passed by, I got lazy and always reported going back to school for later. By working full time I saved quite a lot of money for my age and I decided to invest my money in the stock market. As time passed by, my investments made me richer and I was able to start my own business. I am now a successful business women known in the real estate field. I make way more money than if I was to become a psychologist, and I am very happy with choice I made since I am a wealthy women at a young age. However, money does not buy happiness. I gave all my time into becoming successful that I stopped hanging out with friends. I now have no contact with any of my friends and I feel like I wasted what was supposed to be the best years of my young adult life. I live by myself in a big home where it starts to feel lonely without any company. Even my love life is a complete catastrophe which makes me depressed and wonder if I should of got back to school instead of taking a year off.

Quit my job.

I have been working in a job that I hate for years now as a school worker and I finally found the courage to quit. After I quit my job, I couldn't afford to pay my school debts since I had no income. I tried to find another job in a similar field but my research was not successful. I know live with my parents since I could not afford to live on my own anymore and I suffer from depression.

Stay as a school worker.

After debating if I should quit my job or not, I decided to give it one more chance and stay. I tried to be more motivated when going to work and have an open mind but it still did not work until the day a student I have helped in the past gave me a letter where he thanked me for my help since he was going through a rough time in his life. This gesture made me realize why I choose to work in this field and made me realize that this job is not that bad after all.

Open my own cabinet.

After years of working in a children's hospital, finally had enough experience and money to open my own cabinet and be my own boss. I get to work with people that don't face as much difficulties as the children I was working with and I feel better about it. I also make a lot more money and I have never been happier.

Even if seeing such young patients going through so much difficulties, I still decided to not quit my job as they need my help more than anything. I realized that helping people is what attracted me to this field in the first place and that's why i can not quit my job. However, seeing so much pain in the kids I work with made me depressed and less joyful.
