What a Tough Choice!

Today's a special day. I'm graduating from College! It feels so strange to think that my years of education are getting close to an end. On one hand I feel happy to go to university but in the other I'm kind of bored to be in chair 5 days per week, taking notes about things that don't really matter to me. Plus, I now feel the need to earn some money because my wallet is empty and my parents will not always pay everything for me. I don't know what to do. Should I keep going to school or should I go grind for money in another job?

Choice 1 : Go to university.

Choice 2 : Make some money by working.

A Different Type of Life.

I finally chose to go to university. It's a big change for me since the school is much bigger and that there's so much more people. I'm minded to get straight A's and ace my classes, but I know that it's going to be tough with all of my new friends that are not all helpful for my school progress. In fact, my new friend, Tom, just invited me to a party tonight where everyone will be. Unfortunately, I have an assignment due for tomorrow and I haven't started yet. What should I do tonight?

So Much More Liberty.

Dropping school was refreshing. In fact, I have much more time and now I need to do something with my life. I hesitate between two jobs and one them is related to my field of study, but the other one is a complete different story. My first idea is to be a dental assistant which consists in answering call at a dental clinic, welcoming customers, setting up their next appointment and more. The second idea that I have in mind is start earning money with YouTube by doing affiliate marketing. What should I do?

Choice 1 : Work as a dental assistant

Shouldn't Have Gone There.

I'm now at the party and I'm late as usual. I don't even have the time to close the door that I see my friend, Tom, drunk, laying on the couch with a beer in his hand. I'm not going to lie, it's rather funny to see him like that since he told me earlier he didn't want to drink tonight. Since I'm such a good friend, I make my path to the bathroom where I make him a glass of water. On my way back to give him his glass of water, I see something disgusting. There's a drunk guy who's harassing a young girl and it makes me furious. It seems very intense and I need to act. Quick!

The Arrest.

Five minutes later, after I woke up Tom and gave him his glass of water, I see the officers arriving at the scene. I go see them and tell them what I saw. They ask me who is the guy and I answer by pointing at him. They thank me for my cooperation and I see them start their investigation immediately. After a such traumatic scene like that, I finally decided to say goodbye to Tom and my friends that are hanging around, who look very drunk by the way, and go back home to finish my assignment.

The Assignment of Professor Cabana.

Professor Cabana is a strict teacher, and he wants every piece of work to be perfect. He teaches the Biochemistry and oral Biology class in which we learn the basic notions of cellular composition that we can find in the mouth and much more. It may not look interesting at first sight, but it will surely come in handy at one point in my career. Whatsoever, as you know I had an assignment due for today’s class. However, I fell asleep last night and I didn’t finish my homework. At this precise moment, I’m wondering about what should I do.

Choice 1 : Explain yourself to the Professor Cabana

Generosity.

More often than not, teachers at the university don’t really care about us, the students. However, I think that it’s a lucky day for me since mister Cabana just told few seconds ago that it was alright since it’s the beginning of the semester and that we all need to acclimatize to our disproportional workload. I’m so happy and I don’t know how to react.

Choice 2 : Ask him if he's joking.

Sarcasm.

Unfortunately, as I said, Professor Cabana is a strict teacher, and he was sarcastic in his answer. He just told me that I will have a beautiful 0% assigned to my first assignment at university. It was such a bad choice to go to that party!

The Stratagem.

As I told you, Professor Cabana is a strict teacher. Happily, who said he was a wise teacher? No one. With that said, I'm using Tom's work, which he finished earlier this morning, to copy it and hand it to the professor. Hopefully, he notices nothing at all and my level of stress is now back to normal. From that moment on, I realized that to do well at school I needed to implement some easy new habits such as getting rid of procrastination, set aside more time to study and listen more carefully in class. The choice is now up to me. whether I work hard until I become what I really want, a dentist, or I just enjoy my years of university with my friends and I don't put much effort at school.

I'm proud.

Today's a special day, I just got the result of my (TAED) dentistry exam and guess what? I passed! After all these years of hard and dedicated work I'm finally going to be a dentist. I feel amazing right now and I'm so shaken by the events that I'm not sure of what choice to make. Should I go work at a public hospital or at a private dental clinic?

The Regrets.

I just got the result of my (TAED) dentistry exam and I didn't pass. Right now, I'm full of regret since I didn't work hard enough to become what I want. All the choices that I made were not optimal to my success and I'm going to be obliged to work at a dead-end job for the rest of my life.

The Hospital.

Working in a hospital as a dentist is something totally different from what I thought it would be and I actually love it here. Being able to make the difference in someone’s life gives me a strong feeling of fulfillment. My principal task as a dentist surgeon is to treat patients in the ER and the OR who has a critical need. As a trainee, I don’t have all of the right to execute some procedures. However, my supervisor, the doctor Lamou, is gone for his dining break right now and a patient needs help now. It can’t wait! I don’t know what to do!

Best Decision of My Life.

The patient is in trauma, he got into a minor bike accident and flew right over his handlebars. I need to act quickly in order to put his teeth and his supporting bone back into place. Fortunately, I overcame my stress and stabilized him with cemented splints. Happily, he will not look like a squirrel due to my quickness. I’m so happy with my choice of career. If it were to start again, I’d take the same path.

Regret is Poison.

I feel helpless right now, the patient is not in good shape, but I can’t do anything since I’m a trainee. I try to contact doctor Lamou, but he’s not answering. He finally came back from is dining break, but it was too late... Some pebbles got stock in his mouth during his accident and the infection has started to propagate. Neither doctor Lamou nor me can make his mouth like new again. I knew it, I should have act even if I’m only a trainee. I regret my decision and now I’m going to give my letter of resignation to my boss because I don’t feel like I’m going to make a good dentist.

Bad Decision.

I thought it was the right thing to do. However, it seems like not. He’s so violent that I can’t even place a word. He insults me and tells me to get out of here. I insist and tell him that it’s not okay to act like that. He sends me to the ground with a right punch and from that moment on, My only wish is to get back home and try to finish the assignment with my black eye.

Dental Clinic.

I applied at The dental clinic of Thetford Mines where doctor Dostie runs it. The HR did the right thing by keeping my resume as a potential candidate for the job. They called me back earlier this morning to set up the job interview with mister Dostie that will take place this afternoon. I’m confident and feel like I’m going to kill it! However, one thing makes me anxious right now. My car is at the garage and the technician told me that it would be ready by the 1 o’clock. I wonder, it’s now 1:30 P.M. and my appointment is at 2:00 P.M.. Should I call them or wait a little bit longer?

The garage just told me that my car is not ready right now. It will only be ready in few hours. I'm facing two options right now, either I run or I call them and explain my situation. I really would've liked to call a taxi cab, but as I already told you, I'm broke and I can't afford this much luxury.

I'm currently on my way to the dental clinic. I really try to run fast because the clock is ticking and I'm probably going to be late. I accelerate the rhythm of my strides, I feel my heart pumping and… The next thing I see is a strong light coming from the ceiling. A doctor is coming in my direction. Oh, wait. What? He looks like Jesus. I'm confused, what happened? Did I die? These were not lights coming from the ceiling, it was the light at the of the tunnel… I must have fallen down while I was running to go to my interview and hit my head on the concrete.

There's only one thing that I don't want to hear and it's the sound of an answering machine. Lucky as I am, it's the only thing I hear. No one's answering. Maybe it's my destiny, maybe I don't belong to dentistry. With no further questioning, I decide to make of YouTube my number one career.

I'm now a pretty popular YouTuber due to my great content. In fact, I try to learn a variety of things concerning almost anything in life and then share my knowledge with my followers. Plus, I'm now sponsored by Gatorade, Adidas, and a lot of popular brands. Every video that I post online gives me back an excellent income. I'm making more than a million dollar per video and I'm happy with the type of life I live right now and it's not because of my salary. It's because of the donation that I do every week to the blind and autism society to encourage my sister to keep going after her dreams and not to drop them due to his handicap.
