A new step.

Being an athlete and a student can often be hard. After I graduated from Ahuntsic College, I discussed with my football coach the many options that I had in front of me. Because I'm skeptical! Either take a leap of faith and go play football on the next level or simply stay on the school bench and work hard to become a CPA(Chartered Professional Accountant).

Choice 1 : Chase my dream and go play football at Montreal University.

Choice 2 : Obtain my CPA title.

Choice 3 : Find a job as an accounting technician.

Scene 2.

Yeah! I was accepted in Accounting and Management program. But unfortunately, playing football with this school is too hard, most of the new players like me are not playing until their second or third season. I need some advice! I can either give up on football and focus on school since I'm already in my program or change school to play for another team.

Scene 3.

Nice, I just got transferred to Concordia University. Nevertheless, they don't have my program here.

After 4 years at Concordia University, I graduated! Though, I didn't get straight A's because football takes too much of my time.

Scene 5.

Since I have played all of my four years in university, the team of Montreal are proud to make me a new member. Plus, earn a premium wage compared to the salary of a simple accountant.

On my first day of class at Montreal University, my new "accounting systems" teacher did a background check on us. The purpose was to see if we had the right requirement to become an accountant. Indeed, I checked all the requirements. I was born to be in this field!

After one year, I received a job offer for a vacant position in administration in a hospital. This really come in handy because I need a source of income to pay off my student debt. Should I accept it?

Scene 8.

Succeeding those events, I learned the ins-and-outs of my future job and finally got my diploma. And with straight A’s, what a relief! If I play my cards right, I think that in a few years I will open my own Accounting firm. Engaged my own employees, make my own decisions and of course take my own risks.

I changed my program to become a financial analyst.This field is amazing, but I am overwhelmed with homework. Plus, my teacher suggested doing this program in English to have better opportunity and earn an excellent salary.

Scene 10.

I should have listened to her, I heard that a lot of firm are looking for candidates who studied in English. Instead of earning $60 000 a year, I could earn around $80 000. Pus, that extra money can be set aside for my retirement.

This is the best decision I have ever taken! I will be able to help multinationals in their investment opportunity, increase revenue, manage the company assets successfully and perchance become a senior financial analyst.

I was walking next to a football field today and it made me realize that I miss football so much, I should never have given on this sport. I will kill to get on a field one more time!

On January 2022, I accepted an overtime at my job, but I didn't know I would be working with my supervisor. As we were working she started to touch me thinking I wanted her too. I stopped her and told the RH department of the situation. The next morning, I receive a call telling me that I was fired.

The first year at this job was amazing because I made a lot of money, though my on-the-job-training was a disaster, the person that was in charge to making me learn the ropes of the company was incompetent. On the other hand, one of my dear friends proposed that we start a financial firm together. Should I take it?

We entered this business too soon with a lack of experience, the competition was to rough and our company got eaten by the bigger firms. We couldn't keep up with the market movements and the tons of financial papers, that's why we lost all of our clients. I shouldn't have taken this decision.

After five years, I didn't picture myself still sitting at the same desk, don't get me wrong it's a nice career but it's also a dead-end job. I will never be able to get a higher salary or even get a better chance of career development.

Scene 17.

Another five-year passed, and I was still working at the same place. Plus, my wife left me for another man. That night a stayed in the office to do some overtime. I drank 2 bottles of alcohol, lock my door so no one would enter, and I hang myself.

Being in Japan was one of the best feelings ever, I loved the culture so much that I decided to stay there and teach Accounting.
