Diagnostic Imaging technologist

concordance.

Since I did my test of correspondence between personality and profession during personal project orientation in high school, medical imaging is the job that responds the most.Since that day, I have scored a goal in my life. It is that of obtaining a diploma in Medical Imaging, so I have to register at Ahuntsic College, because it's the closest school to my home. Once accepted into the program, I learned about my career and my educational and professional path. I found myself between several dilemmas and choices to make. Here they are.

Choice 1 : Studying.

Choice 2 : Working Directly.

Ahuntsic College

Studying.

One of my dilemmas and continue my studies. I have the desire to specialize in my field and change my life. I want to get another degree than DEC and that's why I want to continue studying. However, I find myself between two choices. The first is to go to university and the second is to do AEC.

Choice 1 : Doing AEC.

Choice 2 : Going to university.

Choice 3 : concordance.

Going to university.

I decide to go to university to become a Radiodiagnostic teacher. In fact, this choice is based on my criteria. I like shown tips for better learning. In addition, my program stops at the college. That being said, I can not specialize in college. Apart from, if I want to go to university, I can go into the teaching stream and teach the principles of radiology. On the other hand, to be able to do that, I have to have some specialty time, so I have to work first to go to university. I am in university, we are taught a lot of teaching methods. I feel like I'm moving away from my field of study. This choice does not go with what I want to do.

Doing AEC.

On the other hand, I can do a college certificate at Ahuntsic College. The AEC allows me to study a radiological field in more detail and in more depth. As I want, AEC allows me to specialize but without going to university what suits me the least. In fact, I think that choice will not affect me as much. I am going to register on the SRAM site now and I find myself between two choices. Study ultrasound or mammography?

Choice 1 : Ultrasound.

Choice 2 : Mammography.

Ultrasound.

I am in AEC ultrasound. This is my first lab, I have to do a liver routine. Actually, I have a lot of ease doing it. I succeed at the first stroke and I do not even need technical or pedagogical assistance to do it. I believe that my success in this course is less deserved. I feel like cheating.

Choice 1 : concordance.

Kidney Ultrasound

Mammography.

I am impressed. Mammography is more complicated than I think. I'm in the lab and the techniques to make a cancer depisatge (localized image of the cancerous malignancy) is really hard to do. Every detail counts. The compression, the professional touch, the use of the devices seem less complicated than they look. I like this technique. This offers me several challenges and deepen my radiological knowledge.

I am currently working at HMR. This hospital is routine. That means I do the same thing every day. I can not go out of the ordinary and it does not allow me to have challenges. Without lying, I do not like that. It bothers me and I feel like I'm lazy in my work.

Santa-Cabrini Hospital.

I work in Santa Cabrini, and I am very happy. This hospital is full of actions and movements. At the end of the day, I feel that I have benefited society and helped a lot of people. I apply that theory studied at school without going far from it. I do not think I will continue work here.

Work in the emergency room.

Tonight I'm working in the emergency department. This is my first time in this department. I really appreciate. I see a lot of cases and I find myself involved in offering help and manipulating all the radiological aspects studied in theory at school. This gives me the opportunity to handle several rules and radiological laws to have a beautiful image. I am at the bedside of a patient who had a car accident and all her pelvis is fractured. She is under the effect of medical hypnosis. His condition does not allow him to follow my directions, so I have to think about getting an adequate picture while positioning the patient.

Department of MRI.

Today I'm doing MRI. This recent technology is still undiscovered in depth by scientists. I am fascinated by all the details she gives to the image of my patient. He has meningitis. I can distinguish es easily the gray matter from the white matter of the brain. In addition, the device is easy to handle. However, I can not work here for more than a week, it makes a lot of noise and it hurts my head.

Departments of Ultrasound.

I love doing ultrasounds. Now I am at the bedside of a patient for a cardiac ultrasound. I first need to measure the diameter of the Aorta to see if the heart is getting the right amount of blood, if necessary I can make additional images to navigate far and find details that go unnoticed. Actually, this patient seems to have a thrombosis in his aorta because I can see a clot.
