I finally graduated!

I finally graduated from high school! Now, I am moving toward the next level: going to college. But, I don't know which program to get into. All I know is that when I am done with college, I want to have a job with a pretty decent income. I am currently in a dead-end job and that is something that I don't want for my future. I also want a job where I feel a sense of fulfillment by helping others in need. After doing some research of my own. Which college though?

So, I decided to pursue my study in Radio-oncology. I always had something for helping people who are diagnosed cancer. I even did a lot of volunteering work throughout my lifetime. Now that I know I want to get into this program, I have to choose between two colleges that offers this program. One is a French college: Ahuntsic College, and there is the other which is an English college: Dawson College. I don't know which one I like the best. Which one should I go into?

Which college should I choose?

I decided to continue my studies as a Medical Imaging Technologist. The reason behind my decision is that I did an internship to test drive the Radio-Oncology program and I did not like it at all. They said that there weren't any vacant position in this job for the future students. That is the main reason why I chose my second option. Now that I know in which program I want to get into, I have to choose a college. But, I have no idea in which one to get into! Which one should I choose?

Choice 1 : Dawson College

Choice 2 : Ahuntsic College

I am now in Dawson!

I decided to pursue my studies at Dawson College. I really liked it here at first. But then, one my friend told that unlike Dawson, Ahuntsic College has the machines on which we could practice with imaginary patients. Which is not the case for Dawson because here we learn by watching videos and not actually practice directly. Now I am thinking of changing college. Should I go to Ahuntsic instead?

I entered Ahuntsic College!

I am finally at Ahuntsic! I love it here! Everyone is so nice and friendly, including the teachers! But for a reason, I find this program maddening. There is just so much to do and learn in a short time! I can't do it. Everyone is telling me to change my program and do something that I will love. I am still not sure. Should I continue in Radio-Oncology or change it for Medical Imaging Technology?

Choice 1 : Stay at Radio-Oncology.

I am finally at Ahuntsic College!

I am so happy with the choice I made! Going in the Medical Imaging Technology at Ahuntsic College is awesome! I met new friends and everyone is just great! I have one more year left before I can officially start working. My dreams are coming true! But once I graduate, should I work in a clinic or in a hospital?

Choice 2 : Public Hospital.

I decided to stay at Dawson.

I decided to stay at Dawson College and finally graduate there. I started working, immediately. I had an interview. After they did my background check, they called me in for an on-the-job-training, for the first few weeks. The HR personally came and informed me that whenever I need help, I could always go see him for any problem related to work.

I decided to change for Ahuntsic College.

I decided to change college and trust me, I don't even regret it! I love it here! After completing 3 years of this program, I decided that it was time for me to start working. But, I didn't know if I wanted to work in a private clinic or in a hospital. Which one should I choose?

Choice 1 : Private Clinic.

Choice 2 : Public Hospital.

I changed for the Medical Imaging Technology.

I decided to change for Medical Imaging Technology. It's the best decision I have ever made. What I like about this program is that you don't have to always work in the same department, unlike Radio-oncology. You can work in the ultrasound department, MRI, CT-scan, etc. But, once I am done with this program, should I work for a Private clinic or a Public Hospital?

Stay at Radio-Oncology.

I decided to stay in Radio-Oncology and finally got my degree. I got a job at the Jewish Hospital. Luckily, I did an internship couple of years ago which helped me to get a foot in the door, unlike my other friends. We could say that this internship came in handy! 10 years from now, I hope to be the manager of my department or even become a teacher. Let's see what the future holds for me.

Private Clinic.

Now that I finally graduated, I decided to work for a private clinic. What I like about private clinics is that you have a fix schedule unlike public hospitals where sometimes you get a day shift and sometimes a night shift. I have no interest working overtime. I am still young and I want to see the world and have a social life. That is why I chose to work in a Private Hospital. In the end, everything turned out to be great! I have a mortgage on a house, I have my own brand-new car. Everything is fantastic.

Public Hospital.

I finally graduated! I am so happy, since I can start working now. I had an interview a couple of weeks ago, and they called me last week to come in. I started working, and I already love it! The people there and my team. But, there is this guy that won't stop his flirtation way of talking. At this point it's becoming creepy since he is way older than me. What should I do? Should I tell him to stop or not say anything and hope that everything will be fine?

Choice 1 : Tell him to stop

Choice 2 : Not tell him anything and hope everything is going to be okay

I told him to stop.

I went to see him on my lunch break and I told him directly that I don't feel comfortable how he acts around me. He looked at me weirdly and told me that he didn't mean to make me uncomfortable. He also added that from now on, he will make sure to be more cautious. I apologized again and we continued talking about other stuff.

Not say anything.

I decided to remain silent. And maybe that was the biggest mistake of my life. As days went by, his attitude was getting worse and worse. Slowly, slowly he was starting to sexual harass me. He will touch me in inappropriate places and even tell me stuff that I can't even repeat. At this point, I am feeling trapped. Everyone liked him. Should I continue working in the same hospital, or should I apply somewhere else with the hope of a better life.

Choice 2 : Find another place to work.

I decided to continue working there. It's my first job and it's only being a few months that I have been working there. I don't have a lot of experiences yet, so finding another job will be hard. Instead, I talked to my HR. He wasn't surprised, since I am not the first one to deal with it. He called the man in the office who shall stay nameless, and fired him directly. Of course, I was happy, but at the same time I felt guilty. My HR suggested that I file a case on him, but he already got fired because of him. There isn't worst than that. He will probably not get another job any time soon because of his bad records.

After quitting my job. I got a job in a children hospital. I love working with the kids. Now that I am 65 years old, I can finally retire. But, I love my job! I don't know what to do. Should I retire or take a job at Ahuntsic College as a teacher in this program.

I decided to retire!

I decided to retire from work. I have saved up enough money from my retirement plan for the last 45 years. I have enough money to finally accomplish my second goal: to travel the world! I am happy with my life. I could die tomorrow and I have no regrets!

I decided to start teaching at Ahuntsic College. I don't regret my decision. I love my students so much. I see the passion I once had for this program in their eyes. Then one day, while I was talking to one of my students, I had an idea that totally blew my brain. Should I open my own Medical Imaging clinic?!

I opened my own clinic couple of weeks ago. Everything is going well. We just set up the machines and soon it will be open to the public. I am happy with what I have achieved in my life and I have no more regret.

Teaching became my passion, and there is nothing else I rather do. I don't have enough energy to keep running and if I open my own clinic it's just too much work. I am happy with what I am doing. Life is great!
