I am so happy to have my diploma, but now I have to make an important decision. I don't know what I want to become, there is to many choices. I saw a guidance counselor to help me decide what college to go.
Choice 1 : I could go to Edouard Mont-Petit College in Longueuil in Social Science. It's a general program and it can open different doors for my future. It is also near my house and some of my friends are going there, so it isn't a big change in my life
Choice 2 : The counselor suggests going to Ahuntsic College and begin a Paralegal Technology for three years. I don't know if I want to do a Technology since I'm not sure if it's the right fit for me. I also don't know anybody there, but maybe I just need a little push and stop being scared of the unknown.
Choice 3 : I can also listen to my heart and travel for 9 months. I always wanted to go to Asia and see how people in a different reality can live. The nature is so beautiful and I could use this break to really find what I want to do with my life.

I bought my plane ticket to Thailand. My plan is to visit some islands, some cities and mountains, to know every side of this place.
Choice 1 : Start again: After 3 months of living like a queen in this poor country, I realize that I spent too much money and I couldn't stay any longer here. I also miss my family and my friends, so I bought my return ticket to Quebec with the money I had left.
I find the program hard, but I still pass all of my classes. I still don't know what I want to do in the future.
Choice 1 : I finish my program and I receive my diploma in Social Sciences. I finally decided to go to HEC University in Marketing.
Choice 2 : It is never too late to change idea. I should have listened to the guidance counselor in high school and go in Paralegal Technology. I registered at Ahuntsic College to have a new start.
At first, it was easy, but as the Technology passes, the more it becomes difficult. I have a lot of exams, but at least my classes are interesting. My finals are in 1 week, but my friends are partying during all the weekend.
Choice 1 : I have to put aside my social life right now and focus on school. I do time management between doing homework, studying and working.
Choice 2 : I can balance my social life with my work. I go party with them and I have so much fun. But I didn't study a lot because I had a big hangover, I hope the exam is going to be easy...
Ten years later, I have a dead-end job in the HR in a big company. I do background check on new employees and I manage interviews and training for vacant position. I find my life really boring. At least I have my twelve cats that bring me some joy when I get home every night.
Choice 1 : I usually think about when I was younger and the choices that I made. Maybe if I could go back in time, I would do something else...
Yayy! I had straight A's all along the semester. I had lost sight with my friends and I don't talk to them anymore. Sometimes, I feel alone, but I put all my energy in being the best student. Work before fun. People find me cold and boring, but I don't mind. I don't really like them anyway.
Choice 1 : I finish Paralegal Technology.
I am not the best in my classes, but I still manage pull off and have good grades even if I don't study a lot. My friends are always there to support me, and I am glad to have them in my life. Partying is fun and I won't stop because I don't want to become sad and boring.
Choice 1 : I finish Paralegal Technology.
It is now time to specialize and to choose a specific area of law. There are so many choices, but only three really seems made for me.
Choice 1 : Family law. I can decide to work with litigation about families, like the right of children and divorces.
Choice 2 : Business law. Defend some important companies and make sure that they don't loose any money.
Choice 3 : Criminal law. Defend innocent people that are accused of murder and other serious accusation.
I really like working in this field of law. Each day is different and it's never boring. The only thing that I dislike is seeing some child struggling with some problems that they can't change. Today, one of our cases is presented in court. It is about a mother who's always high on cocaine but still needs to take care of her six years old's child. The father disappeared a long time ago, but the mother obviously can not protect and feed the kid. I chatted a little bit with Joseph, the little boy, during the week and I discovered that he was really sweet and intelligent, even with the hard life he had. The judge decided that the mother is not capable of taking care of her son, so Joseph is going to end up in a foster home as soon as possible.
Choice 1 : Adopt Joseph.
Choice 2 : It really is a sad story, but I can't do anything about it. I say my goodbyes to Joseph and hope the best for him.
By choosing Business law, I choose to be in charge of writing contracts and commercial lease of a big company that is specialized in selling pharmaceutic products. Because of my preciseness and my efficiency, I manage to become the best paralegal of the company. I now have the privilege of working with the finest lawyer of the office, in addition of having a great wage.
Choice 1 : I'm working on a new exciting project, but a drawback is that I have to be at the office a lot more than before.
Working with severe cases, like murder or bribe is hard. It's important to separate my emotions from my work, or else, it will affect my life. Today, we received a new case: the team of lawyer and paralegal that I work with have to defend a guy accused of raping two woman. I try not to judge my clients, because they could be innocent. But this time, it is different. We are pretty sure that he did those things, and he doesn't seem to feel bad. On the contrary, he says that it was their fault and that they are overreacting. I find this really frustrating and unacceptable, but I don't know what to do with this situation.
Choice 1 : Do my job.
Choice 2 : Follow my heart
I like working on this new deal, even if I need to stay at the office a lot more. The lawyer I work with, Jonathan, is really nice, and he's good at his job. I could say that he is one of the reasons why I don't mind staying late. Sometimes, I catch his eyes looking at me when I read some documents and there is some flirtation, so I think that he likes me too. Last week, he asked me if I wanted to go out with him, and I said no. I really don't want to date right now and it could complicate our relationship at work. Since my refusal, I find him more insistent. His misconduct is making me feel uncomfortable, and I also don't want anyone to think that something happened between us. I don't know what to do.
Choice 1 : Go talk to him and say that I want him to stop what he is doing.
Choice 2 : Accept going on a date, so he will stop being persistent.
Choice 3 : Quit the project, so I won't be working with him anymore.
One day, during my lunch break, I was on my way to this new Mexican restaurant to buy tacos and I saw that he was following me. I took this opportunity to talk to him about the fact that he has to stop acting like a perpetrator, but he wouldn't listen to what I was saying. This made me maddening, and as he tried to touch my face, I pushed him. I didn't measure my force when I did that, so he felt in the middle of the street. At the same time, a school bus passed and hit him. He died one hour later at the hospital. I was charged with first degree murder and I ended up in prison for 15 years.
Choice 1 : I finish Paralegal Technology.
Beside the dread I was feeling, I decided to go on a date with him. Surprisingly, it went well. He was a real gentleman, and I had a really great time. Since then, I felt better at my job. I began to saw Jonathan a lot more outside of work...
Choice 1 : Nice retirement.
After 5 years working in the company, I didn't have another opportunity like I had before. I find my job boring and the only time that I feel like I can be myself is when I'm home, alone. Every night, I get home, open a bottle of wine or two, and drink it while looking at cats videos on YouTube.
Choice 1 : Go back in time.
It's been three years since I stop working, and I have been doing great. I paid my mortgage and I have put aside enough money to travel a little bit. I am not with Jonathan anymore, but I have a daughter name Jennifer. My child's father is now with a woman who is half his age, and he likes to brag about his money, but for some reason, he's really cheap. My daughter comes visit me every weekend, and during the week, I go bowling and play bingo with some friends.
Choice 1 : Nice retirement.
Like I said before, I can't be emotional. I am paid to defend this man, so that's what I am going to do. It was tough hearing those things about the women. They talk like they were the one doing something wrong. I didn't want to lose my job, so I didn't say anything. At the end, the judge convict the rapist for only 5 years in jail. I should feel relieved because that means that we did a good job, but it doesn't feel right. Well, now it's too late.
Choice 1 : A little bit later.
I can't let this perpetrator get away with this. He deserves to stay in jail for the rest of his life. The day before the trail, I stayed late at the office and I destroyed some evidence that could his case. The next day, it did a giant mess... I got fired, and I almost got charged with some crimes against my profession and against the rights of the rapist. By doing so, the News and journals talked about this case, and the population approved my action. A few months later, I did some interviews to talk about what I did, and I was proud to have stayed true to my feelings and my guts, and I was happy to help a little more our society.
Choice 1 : Nice retirement.
I don't work at the criminal firm anymore. I got fired one year after the rape case because I wasn't doing a good job anymore. By now, I should have retired, but I don't think I will have enough money to keep my apartment if I do that. I tried to found another job as a paralegal, but nobody would hire me. At the same time, I'm a little bit glad because I didn't like that anymore. Now, I work in the McDonald near my home and I manage to become the manager of the place.
Choice 1 : A little bit later.
I am now retired and I moved to California. I often walk my little dog on the beach near my house. I am married to a young guy named Jacob, and he takes good care of me. I don't regret the choices I did in my life because I like where I ended up.
Choice 1 : Nice retirement.
With my husband, we've been trying for two years now to have a kid, but it never worked. This is the perfect opportunity. I talked with my lover, and we agreed to do everything in our power to adopt the little Joseph.
Choice 1 : Big house.
My husband and I decided that we don't want to adopt a child. We prefer to try other solutions to have our very own kid.
Choice 1 : Travel.
Even if we tried, we couldn't have a baby. I first decided to focus on my work, and I was able to have a great position with a nice salary. After a lot of extra hours, my husband and I sold the house and our car to travel all around the globe. We did all the continents, but now we are getting old, so we will stop traveling like we did. We will establish in Italy, near a vineyard because it was one of the countries that we liked the most.
Choice 1 : Travel.
During my life, my husband and I adopted and took care of sixteen children in total. They didn't all lived in the house at the same time, it was a maximum of five children at the same time. I am very proud to have helped all these kids that were struggling. I still live in my big house, but I am never alone. I'm beginning to have Alzheimer, but I have a lot of people who's taking care of me. When I think about my life, I am happy and I think that I made good choices.
Choice 1 : Big house.
