It all Started like this.

I just finished my three years of Police Technology at Ahuntsic College and it was really nice. I made a lot of friends that I know they will always stay in my life. During all my three years I had good marks, so I got accepted to the E.N.P.Q at Nicolet in the first cohort. Now, I just finished my fifteen weeks at Nicolet and I don't know where to apply. I must make a choice. Should I join the police of Laval or the SPVM?

Choice 1 : Apply for the Laval Police Service.

Choice 2 : Apply to the Montreal Police Service.

I decide to apply to Laval and after the interview I am hire. I have one year of probation, so I am accompanied by a supervisor. After 1 week of hard work, I go on a call for noising complaint with my supervisor. We arrive at the house and the loud noises and screams are still going on.

Choice 1 : I call for back up.

Choice 2 : I break into the house.

Apply to the Montreal Police Service.

I apply for the SPVM, and they call me for an interview. I am taken, and they put me to the 21 post. Finally after one year of work there I don't know what to do... I do not like the environment of work because there are a lot of guys that using flirtation with me and I'm not comfortable with that. I have a lot of dread about sexual harassment because I don't want to experience it. I am overwhelming of all of that and I need some change.

Choice 1 : Apply for the Laval Police Service.

Choice 2 : Doing Various Volunteering Abroad in South Africa.

I call for back up.

I hear people screaming more and more and a girl screaming for help. I start to panic, so I don't wait for the back up and I go into the house. There are ten people in it, nine boys and one girl. There is a man with a gun pointed at me. He walks towards me.

Choice 1 : Take out my gun.

Choice 2 : Hiding Behind the Couch for Back Up.

I break into the house.

I see a man with his gun pointed on me. I stay calm and I decide to talk with him by explaining to him that me and my supervisor just want to help and that if he put down his gun, the situation will be easier. He decides to put his gun down, and we arrest him. After this call, my supervisor congratulated me. After five years of patrol, I don't know what to do. Should I continue it or should I apply to become a sergeant?

Choice 1 : Apply to Become a Sergeant.

Choice 2 : Continue to Patrol at the Same Place.

Take out my gun.

The men do not listen to me, and he is getting closer and closer to me. My gun is point in front of him and I start getting stress. My supervisor is looking at me. I don't know what to do.

Choice 1 : Remove his Gun by Making a Wrist Master.

Choice 2 : Putting Pepper Cayenne in his Eyes.

Hiding Behind the Couch for Back Up.

I am waiting for back up behind the couch but the men shot my in my leg. The back up arrive and they call the ambulance. During that time, the other police officer control the situation and arrest the men. I went to the hospital and I'm in a very bad condition because of my miscount.

Choice 1 : My Injury Prevents me from Working for Life as a Police Officer.

Choice 2 : I Can Start Working After One Year of Rehabilitation.

Putting Pepper Cayenne in his Eyes.

I take my cayenne pepper out and send it into my eyes. The man screams and goes to the ground. So, I proceed to his arrest. I tell him his rights and the reasons for his arrest. In fact, I tell him that he have the right to remain silent, that he have the right to see a lawyer. After this call, my supervisor congratulates me and explains my bravery to all of my superiors. After 2 years of patrolling, I see an ad on the internet indicating that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP Short, is looking for several candidates.

Choice 1 : I Apply to the RCMP.

Choice 2 : Continue to Patrol at the Same Place.

Remove his Gun by Making a Wrist Master.

I try to remove his gun by making the first master but I can not stop him. He pushes me to the ground and shoots me. My supervisor shoots him in the leg in return and puts him under arrest. The ambulance arrives a few minutes later, and I am transported to the emergency room.

The bullet penetrates my right leg just above the heel. It is on sale in an open wound. The nerve his badly damaged and I can not control my leg anymore. At night, the pain is unbearable. I do not know when I can drive again. The doctors explain to me later. I will never be able to exercise my dream job... In the beginning, I was very depressive but after 2 years I decided to make a baccalaureate of criminology at the University of Montreal. It's a study of 3 years and after that, I should become a criminologist. But, I have the opportunity to make a student exchange program, to study at the university abroad while remaining enrolled at the University of Montreal.

Choice 2 : Make my Study in Teaching.

I have an exchange program in France.

I love this program and I'm more motivated at school by doing it in another country. I have great mark and I decided to make my three years of study there because I met my love. After my study, I decide to stay in France and to make my life there.

I Can Start Working After One Year of Rehabilitation.

The ball penetrates my right thigh just above the knee. I remember the incident and the pain. I feel like a violent blow to my leg and then I see blood. I scream and fall. I loose feeling all over my body for several seconds. Fortunately, no nerve has been severely damaged. After one year of rehabilitation, I can start working.

Make my Study in Teaching.

After all my study and my internship in teaching and after 7 years of replacement and being a trainee I become a permanent teacher in primary in the school I made all of my primaries. I'm very grateful for that chance and I love my class. My students are nice and listen to me. After 20 years of teaching, I'm retiring. I decide to buy me a little house in the countryside where I will be able to buy horses.

After all of my tests to become a sergeant, I am taken. During my first year of being a sergeant, my stem went up so much that I forgot the rules to follow. That's why during a patrol day I make an illegal arrest on a minor. After this event, my superior fire me. I am now unemployed and I'm very depressive. I know that I will stay depressive for the rest of my. life.

In the beginning, it was correct but after other years of patrol I was tired of the tears, knots in my stomach and dread going to work every morning. So, one day I prayed to my angels for guidance. The largest, most vibrant double rainbow I had ever seen formed across the sky. People were stopping in the street to take pictures. To me, rainbows always meant hope and new beginnings. I had my sign.

Choice 1 : Go to the University to Become an Investigator.

Choice 2 : Stop Working as a Police Officer : Stay at Home.

It's the police department that pays for my studies at the University to become an investigator. During my first week of study, I flirted with a boy named Oliver. I find him really cute and very nice, so we went on a date. One year later we are always together, and we are both of us an investigator. I finish my career as an investigator and I'm really proud of it.

Stop Working as a Police Officer : Stay at Home.

The next day I went into work. The owner was in full rage mode; my head was starting to pound and my stomach was tensing up. A strong thunderstorm started, with flashes of light and loud crashes of thunder, occasionally overriding the owner’s constant tirade. A particularly loud blast of thunder made me bolt straight out of my seat. I stood up and loudly stated, “I couldn’t take it anymore? I quit!” It felt like an out-of-body experience: Did I just say that? I ran full-throttle through a long warehouse, through four doors, through the gate and to my car in the pouring rain. I was shaking as I turned on my car and peeled out of the parking lot. It was the best decision I’d ever made. I learned my value that day and choose to be in a work environment that emanates peace, calm and respect : my house.

Doing Various Volunteering Abroad in South Africa.

I work at an orphanage, so our daily routine at the township start off with breaking down tasks among the group to rebuild the school fence, the playground, and most importantly the building itself. We are able to spend time with the kids during their lunch breaks and reveled in learning their songs and games. Once school was out, and we have wrapped up, we would travel back to the volunteer house where local women prepare us their traditional meals with abundant food from the area. Having no radio, cable, or the internet was a blessing as I continue to appreciate how much I was able to learn so much about myself. I decide to stay there for a moment even if I didn't have a salary. All my help was invaluable for them.

I Apply to the RCMP.

Several stages make up the selection process: written exam, polygraph test, background survey and fitness exam, in addition. I had it all successfully, so I had to go for my 24-week training at the RCMP school in Saskatchewan before taking a few months of practical training. At the moment of reaching the first rank of the hierarchy, it is the direction of the police force that decides where in Canada I will start my career. Fortunately, they put me in Montreal. After 25 years of work in Montreal, I retire and travel around the world.

I eventually become a professor of police technology for the Police Intervention Course for Grade 2 students. I'm not happy about it because I'm not good at teaching. The students do not listen to me and most of the time I become very angry. After one year, I decided to take my real retirement and I'm very happy about it. I spend the rest of my life in Florida with my husband.

Thinking About my Retirement.

I'm tired of all my overtime, I need a real break : my retirement. It's a good choice because I'm in peace with all the good work I did. I was really thoughtful about that but it was the best decision I made.
