The end of secondary school.

I am applying to schools, but I am not sure of what I want to do. I know it will be in a field of health of the human body, and helping people feel better in their bodies, tho it will be something that goes along the movement of the body. Which, brings me to two choices in particular. Should I study to be a physiotherapy technologist or a chiropractor?

Choice 1 : Study to become physiotherapy technologist.

The technique is 3 or 4 years, I can choose out of 4 colleges, but I only got accepted to Montmorency College and Ellis College. Montmorency College is a public setting, where Ellis College is a private school.

Montmorency College in Physiotherapy Technology.

Montmorency College have the greatest program for the field. It is in Laval, which means that I don't have to go live in an apartment for college, which also means fewer costs associated to living. The program costs $300-$400 per sessions, so it really is cheap and means when I'm done with school, I won't have any debts.

Ellis College in Physiotherapy Technology.

Ellis College offers a good program that has its advantages and disadvantages. For the 3 years, it will cost approximately $15,000 and that is without any living costs of living at Trois-Rivière. The teachers are really good, but by the time I'm done with school I'll have debts to recover from. Plus, there is not a lot of socialization opportunities, because the program is so small.

Finding a job after Montmorency College.

Montmorency College opened the door to a few jobs that offers to pay the on-the-job training. Those jobs will show me the ins-and-outs of the job. I chose to go work for a company named Kinatex, that is close to my house and where there seems to be no bias and downfalls on employees.

Finding a job after Ellis College.

After I finished my 3 years, I was able to find myself a job in the field. That job was asking me to do on-the-job training for 6 months without pay, which of course is leading me to drown in debts. So, I found a second job on the side to be able to continue living and reimbursing my school debts. All of those responsibilities will lead me to my downfall I can already feel it, but I continue pushing through and force myself to keep going.

Kinatex gave me new reasons to love my job, like our good office politics. I see my friends talking to me about their office life, and I find myself really happy to realize that I have some respectful colleagues and bosses. I do sure think I will have this job until my retirement because they offer us a few advantages that will appear on my pension once I decide to retire.

My job at Cora.

I was right a few years earlier when I said this job would be my downfall. Cora is a horrible work environment for me. They offer bribes to employees, but only if they do not ask HR for leaves of absences. I am also sure that the HR are not in on it, but that the owners are stealing from their own company and being thieves. I really need to find myself a new job, but I am scared of background checks. Not because my background is bad, but because Cora's owners falsified my background to be sure I don't leave. The thing is, I can't prove that they did it. I fell out of love for this job, so I think I will just quit.

I applied at my community cegep in Joliette to go and study Natural Sciences. I want to be able to go to university afterwards. I did 2 years of natural science, where I got good grades to be able to get accepted in chiropractic at the UQTR. I worked really hard during my studies to get straight A's, I had to do A LOT of time management. Even though I struggled a few time I still pulled it off seamlessly.

I started university in 2026, I am just now, in 2029, starting my 18 months of supervised clinical training, and I love it. I did not get straight A's again after starting the chiropractic program, but I still get really good grades considering the complexity of our exams. For now, I didn't yet learn the ins-and-outs of the job because I am only doing training in the school's clinic, which is still like learning, but learning what the job feels like without being out in the world yet.

Chiroforme is a great clinic situated in Joliette, so close to home for me. I of course don't need on-the-job training because we trained and treated patients while in school. So instead when I went on an interview, they showed me around and offered me a shadowing day as my first day. Which means that I would be following someone around for my first day to see how everything is over there. They also offered to pay me for that day, which is rare in this field. I liked the layout of this clinic ans it had a few advantages compensation package wise.

Job offer at Chiro Solution.

Chiro Solution is a clinic situated in Montreal. They offered me to go work for them as an individual, which means that I need to build my own client base to be able to have a stable wage. For the mean time Chiro Solution is willing to help me built me client base and to give me a lower but stable salary. There is not a lot of compensation packages, but if I want to open eventually my own clinic of chiropractics, this would be the best solution for me.

I accepted the job offer that Chiroforme offered me. I am now one of their full time employees, I love the advantages that come with this job. I can take a Friday off here and there just to have a long weekend. The salary is good and stable. I have amazing coworkers that helps each other out whenever needed. I have a great manager that assists me if I feel the need, because I am still new to the field. I can’t wait to have a little more experience.

I accepted the job offer from Chiro Solution! I love the lay out and how things are here, but I sense a lot of tension between the coworkers. I think it is all coming from one guy, but I can’t be sure. Anyway I won’t be here for more than 5 years before I build my own clinic.

5 years at Chiroforme.

It has been 5 years since I started working at Chiroforme. I still love this job so much, but I am starting to feel like I could do more with my potential. I feel like I would be able to build my own clinic or re buy someone else’s. I just don’t feel challenged enough anymore in this clinic. I would be way too scared to go away tho.

I decided to quit on good terms at Chiroforme, I am now building my own brand new clinic! I am so excited and proud to be doing this. I think I can really give this place a beautiful look for my clients to love and to get the help they need from my employees and me.

I am still at Chiroforme, and I am starting to dread going to work every day, and not because I’m being harassed or anything, but because I am simply bored of what I do every day. I am now in retirement, and I regret my decision… I stayed and lost the love I had for my work.

I don’t know how to say this, but I am being harassed at my job. I am almost considering bankruptcy and building my clinic even though I am not stable enough financially right now to do that. I am being harassed by the guy that I was worried about 5 years ago, I should’ve listened to my gut and not get friendly with him. I wanted to be nice, so I talked to him, once and everything went wild since. He takes me as his victim every day. He makes me not want to go to work every day, and I am tired of it. I am going to try and stay until I am stable enough to open my own clinic.

Another 5 years later, I am now my own boss. I have my own clinic. I have a few employees, I was the victim of harassment at my old job for a few years, once I got stable enough financially wise I went and built my own business to get out of that poorly managed clinic. I reported the guy multiple times throughout the years, and he never got reprimanded, so I quit. I had enough of feeling like I was not worth anything because of how he treated me. I am now happier, but I still lost a big part of the love I had for this job.
