The end of Cegep.

Finally! After two long years, Ryan is now done with the Social Sciences program at the Cegep. The last years were filled with countless homework, exams and study hours. Although he is excited of leaving Thetford for university, he is also nostalgic of all the friends and memories he has in his hometown. In December, he had to choose the field of study in which he will pursue a career. It had been a hard decision. Ryan always enjoyed understanding the human brain and behavior. He liked knowing the reason behind people's actions. For these reasons, he strongly considered studying psychology. However, Ryan always has been good taking care of children. He really enjoys his summer job which is a day camp counselor. This is why becoming a physical education teacher had always been an option. Nevertheless, three months later, he is very happy with the decision he made.

Psychology at University Laval.

Ryan was so excited to be in Laval studying psychology. He made a ton of new friends and his classes are so interesting. He even got a new girlfriend named Melissa. As the semester goes, things start to get tough. Long texts and thick reports started to come in. The workload really started to weigh heavy on Ryan's shoulders. Right now, he is struggling to find time for his friends and family, and it's starting to take a toll on him. This morning, as he was is studying in the library, his favourite teacher Mr. Campbell says he really believes that Ryan has the potential to get a higher level degree if he upgrades his grades just by a little bit. This gave Ryan a boost of self-confidence and of hope for the future. Later today, another one of his teachers says he got invited to a psychology cabinet for an internship. This would mean he could get paid while learning everything about being a psychologist. He spent the evening trying to figure out what to do. He has trouble sleeping, he needs to make a choice.

Physical Education in Sherbrooke.

Ryan is having fun in Sherbrooke. The physical education program is not hard for him, and he really likes it. He enjoys the vibes on campus, and the people in Sherbrooke are super nice. Since he got here, he has really been enjoying the "college-life". He studies during the day, party during the night, and do it all over again the next day. Ryan really enjoys the balance in his life. However, any education program has mandatory on-the-job training. Today, Ryan got a called from a school he applied to. They want him as an intern. This means his beloved routine will need to change.

Study, Study, Study.

For his last year of University, Ryan studied harder than ever. He stayed late on campus, he had private study sessions with all of his teachers and he did all the optional lectures in all of his classes. He is extremely tired, but he is also proud of the improvements he made every day. At the end of the day, he now has a psychology diploma. Not only did he get a diploma, he ended up having the best grades of his class. Mr. Campbell is very impressed by his hard work and wants him to do a master's degree in a much harder psychology field. Ryan is burned out and just feels like giving up, but at the same time he does not want to let that opportunity go.

Internship at Quebec Psychology Clinic.

Ryan decided it was time for him to learn and experience what it's like to be a psychologist. He has been working at the clinic for 3 months now, and even though he struggled at first, he really enjoys it. He learned a lot by watching how other psychologists operated. However, he also noticed how office politics affected the clinic. Promotions and title such as "psychologist of the month", were all given to the best-looking women or the boss' friends. Ryan knew right away what was going on inside the clinic. The end of Ryan's internship also meant the end of his years studying in Laval. On his last day at the clinic, the boss offered Ryan a contract to start his career at the same place he did his internship. This was a great opportunity for him, but he is still uncertain about accepting a job at a clinic filled with office politics.

The "College Life" Continues.

Despite doing an internship at the school. Ryan didn't change his way of living. He still partied as much, no matter what he had to do the next day. However, Ryan was very happy. He was having a lot of fun and his grades were okay. The only problem was that he wasn't very dedicated to his internship. After the internship, the school did not contact him, and Ryan found himself with nothing to do. His family began to worry about him, and telling him he needs to get his life together. One afternoon, as he was walking in the university's hallway, a poster on the wall grabbed his attention. The poster showed: " A summer in Spain". He called the number on the poster for more information. It was a volunteering project in which he would spend a whole summer in Barcelona, while working at a local school. Ryan thrived for new adventures, but he enjoyed the comfort he had built in Sherbrooke. There he was again, thinking if he should go to Europe or Stay in Sherbrooke.

A Great Internship!

Ryan felt so honored the school chose him as an intern that he did everything he could, to help the school. His dedication to become a better teacher really impressed the direction. He had a good attitude and was very involved with his students. He really enjoyed the experience. Everyone who was working at the school was unanimous about bringing him back for a long-term contract. Ryan's life was much more stable since working there, but he still wasn't sure about accepting the offer.

Ryan decides not to listen to his body and grind the master's degree. However, his body is just not following anymore. He gets sick, he never leaves his house, and he always feels tired. One day, after many talks with his family, he concludes it is better for his well-being to stop the degree. After taking a break, he feels much better. Now, he has two choices.

Choice 1 : Choose another program

Choice 2 : Work as a normal psychologist.

Working At The Clinic.

After years of studying, Ryan finally got his first real-job as a psychologist. During the first few years, he likes the job and his salary is okay. Ryan also has his first child with Melissa. As a new family dad, he is looking for a promotion to provide for his family. However, new psychologists get higher level contracts in months while he is stuck at the same place as when he entered the clinic. That makes him very frustrated, and even when talking to the boss, nothing changes. Melissa divorced him for a rich man, and took custody of the kids. Ryan was destroyed. One day, he decided that it was enough, and that he deserved to be treated better than that. He ends up quitting the job, and is back wondering what the future will look like.

A Little Too Much To Drink.

Ryan keeps partying over and over again. Girls and parties started to become his priority. He became less interested in teaching, and just ended up giving up. Six months later, he didn't have enough money to pay rent. Just like that, he was back in Thetford, at his parents' house. His mom took him to " Alcoholics Anonymous", and he began a long rehabilitation process. He later went back to school to finish his teaching degree.

Life in Barcelona.

Ryan decided to fly to Spain, to go live a once in a lifetime experience. He volunteered in a Spanish school for one summer. During that summer, he met Andrea, an English teacher at the school. She thought him Spanish, and showed him Spain's culture. He liked the country so much, that he decided to stay there with on a working visa. A year later, he married Andrea, and he later became a Spanish citizen. After many years of teaching, he retired in Spain. He enjoyed retirement with Andrea and his kids under the sun.

The Deadly Divorce.

After getting his degree, Ryan signs long contract with the school he loves. He really feels at home at the school. During his career, he met Charlotte, a doctor that he ended up marrying. Everything was going fine, and he was on the way to a very successful teaching career. He even won teacher of the year twice in his first five years as a teacher. One day, everything changed. He was getting home from work on a random Thursday, he caught Charlotte in his bed with one of his colleagues. He was devastated. He just wanted to hide, and never see anyone ever again. However, a couple week after divorcing Charlotte, one of his friends called. He told to him about a volunteering project in Spain, for teachers. He wasn't very interested, but he really needed to get away and start fresh. He left the school at the end of the year, and left for Spain.
