Historian or Professor ?

As I finish my liberal arts studies in Cegep, I must choose between becoming a historian or a university professor. It's kind hard to make a choice, and I don't want to pay the consequences in the future or regret it.

Become a historian.

I finally decided to pursue my studies in history. I truly like the University of Sherbrooke, but it's necessary for me to explore new horizons and deploy my wings in another city.

Choice 1 : Stay at Sherbooke.

Choice 2 : Go in another city.

Become a univeristy professor.

After a long moment of reflexion, it appears that it's better for me to share my personal experiences and develop more my well-advanced social skills. I thought teaching in university was the best path according to my situation. However, I was interested in two universities : Sherbrooke and Montreal.

Stay at Sherbooke.

As a nostalgic people, I preferred to stay in Sherbrooke. During my studies, I learned many subjects and tips such as the ancient Egyptian civilization and the right methodology to produce good writing works. Nevertheless, the deadline for my final exams were in two weeks, but my best friend asked me to join him to a car shows.

Go in another city.

I left Sherbrooke and established in Quebec. I selected the program of classical studies and learned a lot about the early ages. At the end of the year, I had to choose between going in travel in France or stay here during my vacations.

Choice 1 : Travel in France.

Sherbrooke university.

Sherbrooke was the best option to stay near of my natal city. I joined the liberal art's department and started teaching to a small group of students. My director told me it would be interesting to integrate some mythology in the lessons, but I didn't know if it were pertinent.

Choice 1 : Integrate mythology.

Choice 2 : Don't integrate mythology.

Montreal university.

Two posts were offering to me : professor in classical studies or professor specialized on the Middle Ages and Modern times.

Study for the exams.

Even if I really like cars, I didn't want to fail my exams for just one event, When I got my results, I had the choice to work directly in my career field or do a PhD.

Go to the car shows.

With my good results, I made the choice to join my friend at the car shows. We took a lot of pictures as the Pagani Zonda R and the magnificent Bugatti Mistral. While we were returning to home, my friend asked me to drive his car and drifting in the corner of the street. I thought it's dangerous but also fun to test.

Travel in France.

I spent three weeks in Paris and Visited a multitude of monuments. I met a woman in a coffee shop, and she was clearly a straight A's person,.

Stay at the same place.

The travel was too expensive, and I stayed in the same city all of my vacations. I worked and get outside with my friends, but one day, a thief robbed all my important documents and money. I felt powerless. Start again.

Integrate mythology.

My students liked my integration of mythology in the course. My director were right, but I wanted to change the subject for the next year. I thought viking mythology would be great, but I also had a feeling to explore Asian mythology.

Don't integrate mythology.

I refused the director's demand and continued in my own way to teach my students. My director was a little bit unhinged and let me the choice to leave the department or continued while following his instructions.

I felt alienated to my work when the director asked me to do what he wanted. I decided to leave the department. The End.

Viking mythology.

I integrated viking mythology, and I saw that's a truly good decision to get the attention of my students. Three of them wanted to pursue in this path after finishing my entire course. The End.

Asian mythology.

I thought it will be original to talk about Asian mythology, but my students didn't feel the same way. Half of the group left my lesson and I started to be depressive.

Professor specialized in the Middle Ages and Modern times.

Middle Ages and Modern times was my favorite period in history, even if pulled of my exams during my studies. I showed my passion to the entire program and started being appreciated in the whole university. I received good feedback and felt very recognizing. The End.
