Finishing college.

I'm in the Social Sciences program since 2024 at cegep de Sherbrooke, and I'm finishing my pre university program this year and I don't know what to do after college.

Choice 1 : Travel in Asia.

Choice 2 : Apply to university.

Travel in Asia.

I've been thinking a lot about travelling after college because I never had the time before, and I think it's a great opportunity to travel somewhere completely different to learn more about myself before going to university and invest 4 years of my life to school and my future job. The reason I want to travel is that I want to learn more about the culture of Asia. But the problem is that I undermine the language barrier, so I find it more stressful than I thought.

Apply to university.

My plan after college is to go to University Laval in the Social worker program for the fall semester. But the program offer online classes or in class. So, I'm not sure if I should move there which will give me a foot in the door for the new adventure which is university Laval and the city of Quebec or I choose to stay in Sherbrooke and do only the online classes.

Choice 2 : Move to Quebec City.

Decision about my future.

The hardest decision for me would be to choose between travelling in Asia or cancel my trip to go study at the university. But the thing is if I decide to cancel my trip I'll need to put aside the learning experience of a new culture and a new language which could be beneficial things to have in my life, and it could help me to make new friends and meet people who have live experiences that I never could imagine.

Language classes.

Before I go to my trip in Asia I'll need to learn some basic words in Mandarin to help me communicate with the people who live there, and it could help me to understand a little bit of the culture because the language is a part of a culture. So, the Mandarin classes could help me to learn the ins-and-outs of the language. But the classes cost a lot of money, and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to spend that much money for that. Because the trip and the flight ticket cost more than I can afford so my budget is becoming tight.

Stay in Sherbrooke.

If, I decide to stay in Sherbrooke I could stay at my parents' house during my years at the university which could be useful because I'll be able to save money for when I buy my future house. The fact that I grow up here and that I know the ins-and-outs of Sherbrooke make it so much easier than to learn the map of a new city and be lost all the time. I'll be able to see my friends like always and when I go out I'll see the same people that I know since way back.

Move to Quebec City.

If, I decide to move to Quebec City I think it would be a great new adventure for me, change the air and meet new people, make some new friends. The biggest change I think it would be to live in an apartment, to be in charge of everything which is nothing to compare life at the parent's house who you don't need to worry about anything like paying the bills and do the cleaning etc. So, it could really help to be more responsible and adult.

Take the language classes.

If, I decide to take the language classes it could really help me for the speaking and understanding side of the language so the I see it it could be real time management.

If, I decide to skip the classes I'll be able to save a lot of money, and it could help me pay my tuition which is gonna be really expensive if I decide to come back to school.
