What to do after cegep?

When I finished cegep, I wanted to work in the machining industry. The purpose was to work in something I already knew. What motivated me was the feeling of making parts to make the world better every day. I had to choose between starting my own machine shop or find a job.

Choice 1 : My own machine shop.

Choice 2 : Get a machinist job.

My own machine shop.

Now that I had my shop, had to buy cheap machines to star because they were really expensive. I was in need of a lot more money if I wanted to grow my shop to a bigger scale. Should I stay a small shop or should I join my friends to make a bigger shop.

Choice 1 : Stay on my own in my shop.

Choice 2 : Start the shop with my friends.

Get a machinist job.

so I chose to find a job in one of the companies where I did my internships. My first interview was at TLD Canada for a CNC programing job. After the interview, theydid a background check on me and they offered me the job. I did not said yes yet because I had a seccond interview at PPD as a mchinist. They also offered me the job. What should I go for?

Choice 1 : Programer at TLD

Stay on my own in my shop.

Now that I had my own small shop, I had to buy tools and machines. I always loved to have a really big variety of machines but unfortunately, I knew that specializing in one type of machining would probably give me a better wage. Do I buy a lot of of cheap machines or only one good machine?

Choice 1 : Multitasking alone.

Choice 2 : Sticking to one machine

Start the shop with my friends.

I chose to start my shop with two of my friends from Cegep. We combined all of our savings to acquire more assets. After buying the place, we had to invest in our first machines. Now we had to choose between conventional machines of CNC machines.

Choice 1 : Conventional machines.

Choice 2 : Invest in CNC machines.

Multitasking alone.

I chose to buy many things, but it was really expensive. I became overwhelmed by all the new learning and expenses. Because of that, I did a burn out, and I had to close my machine shop.

Sticking to only one good milling, so I am now a professional. My only problem was my lack of clients.

Conventional machines.

We chose to buy conventionnal machines that are controlable by hand. Unfortunately, we had a lack of production speed. Unfortunatly, at this rythme we had to close the shop.

Invest in CNC machines.

That was the best solution, we are producing a lot of parts, and we could buy many more machines after that.

Programming at TLD.

I chose the job at TLD in programming. They taught me the ins and out of the job. After a while, my boss offered me a promotion that would give me a premium wage but would mean less time with my family. Do I take it or not?

I did my OJT as a bias machinist. John helped me to learn the ropes. At this point, I had a foot in the door and my test drive. Should I stay focused on the job or misconduct.

I chose to prioritise my family and I stayed there for years, and I liked it very much.

Choice 1 : Start over.

Take the promotion.

After I took The promotion, I became more important, and I had a premium wage. Someone offered me a bribe, and I accepted. Unfortunately, it was a trap from my boss and I lost my job.

I wanted to stay focused and my boss noticed it, and he was so happy that he gave me an augmentation.
