The End of High School.

Now that you are at the end of your high school year, you have to decide which path to lead. Should you go to college and pursue your studies, should you stop school and go to work instead to make money, or should you travel the word. What should you do?

Now that you have decided to pursue your studies, you don't know which program to choose. You don't know if becoming a lawyer would be challenging at Ahuntsic College or, if you should just go into finance at Montmorency College.

You started working full time in IGA, but you soon realise that you are hating this job, and you are not making enough money to pay your rent. You got kicked out of your apartment, and you are working overtime. Now, you have three jobs, and you are working during night shifts. As an overtime worker you were tired and burned out, and guess what your boss fired you because you were making a lot of mistakes.

Travel the Word.

You like traveling the word, and learning different cultures. Suddenly, while traveling in Europe, someone stole your purse. These pickpockets are everywhere! You had your wallet inside and your passport. You go to a police station, and they say that it takes at least 6 months to get your new passport, and you now have to go back home. It was a short experience.

Study Law at Ahuntsic College.

You love College Ahuntsic, the people are great even though you don't understand anything in law, and the courses were extremely maddening. You started to realise that probably becoming a lawyer isn't your future career. Let's go to Montmorency College!

Study Finance.

You are in the program of Accounting and Management. You like the courses, and you are pulling off straight A's. You are really thoughtful, and you decide to pursue your program. Your teacher then talks you about a program called ATE, which means that you can do a paid internship related to your field of study during the summer.

What a wrong decision! You should have done a paid internship. It would have been a great opportunity to learn the ropes. You would have created new professional contacts, you could have developed professional competences, and it could have been a foot in the door. Also, if you were stressed about it they had a OJT, so they were also giving training to new interns. During the mid session, your teacher saw that you were extremely dedicated in your studies and that becoming an accountant is in fact really your future career. Your teacher convinced you to do an internship.

Great way to get in the job market. This will help you develop new skills and earn experience in Accounting. You will also get a good wage as well as learning the ins-and-outs. Now that you're home, you have to decide what to really do with your life and your future life. You really enjoyed the travels, but now you are still young, and you have to take serious decisions. Should you just work and make money for future projects or should you go back to school?

What a smart move! Your teacher posted your post on their account, and a Financial Controler contacted you for an interview. During the interview, the person told you that even though you are a great person, that they can't hire you because you are still new in your program, and they were looking for someone graduated in your program. Don't give up! You remembered that last semester, you had a project where you needed to interview a manager/administrator, and you met a CEO. At the end of the meeting, she said that they hire interns. You could contact back the CEO. Or you could publish your candidacy on Indeed for jobs related to Accounting. What should you do?

The worst part is that not a single company contacted you to tell you that they are not interested in you. Maybe contacting the CEO would not be such a bad idea. Let's try! You have nothing to lose.

As an accountant, you have multiple responsibilities, such as analyzing the balance sheet, register some transactions of some purchases, preparing the salary of the employees, and make sure that the company is making some profits. Basically, everything related to the financial aspect of the company. Your supervisor gave you a project. A senior colleague was offering advice, and he was asking about your project. During the meeting he betrayed you with wrong information and numbers. It was humiliating. He also began to withhold important information, and it led you to hinder your reports. You should talk to your supervisor.

In a situation like this you have to communicate with your supervisor. He told you to not worry about it and gave you a chance to redo the project. Now you have to believe in yourself, and you don't need anyone's approval except your supervisor's approval.

After what happened with this coworker, he kept bothering you. Now, he makes inappropriate remarks about your body and your personal life. He was flirting with you and misconducting in the workplace. You soon realise that you are the recipient of a sexual harassment. You don't know if you should talk about this situation to your HR, or should you not say anything.

It is the right think to do in this type of situation, and your boss said that he will take actions because his gestures were not right.

Wrong, wrong and wrong. This is a big issue, and you cannot let it slide. You could risk yourself and something bad could happen to you. He may take advantage of you in the workplace. You have to talk to your HR.

Your next project was to register the purchases that the company had made in the pass, pay the mortgage and the bank loan. While you were paying, you realized that the account numbers of the suppliers and the bank had changed. Someone was trying the steal the company's assets. Thanks to your attention to details, you notice that there was a theft, and you reported it. What an excellent job! The company's CEO, is impressed by your work and gave you a big job promotion. You got a hire and better position that will make you retire much early. Should you take the job opportunity or should you refuse it because it's a lot of responsibilities.

You are being successful! You don't have any mortgage to pay, and you decide to retire from the company at the age of 42. Since you really miss the drive of work, you decided to work independently during the tax season. You now plan to volunteer abroad, and with the money set aside, you decided to travel in Asia.

This could have change your whole life. Don't you remember, you wanted to travel the word. If you had taken that opportunity, you would have retired at a young age, and you could have enjoyed the rest of your life traveling different countries.
