I graduated from high school! In March, I had to choose a path that would lead me to my future career. My main goal was to become a physiotherapist, but in order to achieve that goal, I had to get straight A's in high school, which I did!

My first year in the Natural Science program was hell. I had a lack of sleep, I was horrible on time management, and I putted aside my favorite sport which was skateboarding, so I wasn't happy.

I really loved my two and a half years of studying in the physical therapy technical program at the cegep of Sherbrooke. It was a good test drive for my future career. To get my degree, I had to do an OJT at a physical therapy clinic.

I decided to fight and getting my degree in Natural Science! I had no choices because I was getting threats from my parents when I was considering dropping out. This program was maddening but I completed it!

I decided to drop out from the Natural Science program because I felt overwhelm. The only thing that I wanted at the time was to come in handy to the civilisation. So, I wasn't going to rest on the couch all day long for many weeks, I had to keep moving and learning.

I really liked this clinic because it felt like this was my purpose to eventually work there. The boss told me that my positive attitude could really be useful to this clinic.

I hated that internship. There were sexual harassment between the employees which made me feel very uncomfortable. I dreaded that something bad was going to happen. So, I had to consider stopping this internship.

I went to study in a physical therapy program at the university of sherbrooke. I had my first girlfriend at this university. She eventually cheated on me with one of my best friends, that broke my heart.

Travel in Europe.

Traveling in Europe was one of the best decisions in my life. I had nothing to undermine about Europe, except for the fact that many teens smoke cigarettes, so I had to hold my breath very often because I hated the smell of them. The trip was coming to an end, but I wasn't totally sure if I wanted to stay or go back to my normal life in Quebec.

Europe

OJT at a restaurant.

I was a trainee at a restaurant called the 3 amigos. My trainer was called Miguel, I really liked him because he included me like I was his son. I learned a lot about making tacos and fajitas, and even how to be a good human being. Pablo told me a lot of his life lessons which helped me to not make the same mistakes. One of hem was to study as long as I could.

Observation training in physical therapy.

I did an observation training in a physical therapy clinic in order to learn the ins and outs of this profession and to ask myself, ''do I really want to do this for the rest of my life''. Luckily, this was for sure one of the best and interesting job to me.

I decided to not go to university and stay at this clinic to work as a physical therapy technician. I worked there for 35 years, and I stopped because one day, a theft decided to rob all of our equipment, and we had no insurance. Because of that, the clinic eventually bankrupted and closed. That was a sad ending.

I was able to study in a physical therapy program at the university while working part-time at the private clinic. That was really helpful for my learning because I could practice the things that I just learned in school right after my classes. It was a good opportunity to learn the ropes.

I couldn't handle it anymore. I was right about my feeling that something bad was going to happen. One of the employees was flirting with me, even if I told her to stop. One day, she touched me inappropriately, so I decided to slap her and left this internship.

I finished this internship totally traumatized. The employees were really mean to me, and I felt like I learned nothing. I had to change my thoughts and feel something more than fear and regret.

I decided to volunteer abroad in a small country in Europe called Spain. At least I thought that this was a small country, but I learned quickly that every country in Europe was smaller than Canada. I volunteered in an elementary school in Madrid to help kids to learn French. I had no wage but my heart was full of experiences and the kids loved it.

After all these experiences, I had to pursue my dream job, being a physical therapist. Going to university was stressing me, but I was full of motivation, and I was sure that I was able to pull this of.

After my OJT at the 3 amigos, I had to go back to school to find what I really wanted to do. I did consider staying and work all my life at the restaurant but the drawback was that the wage was to little for my capacities. Pablo told me to keep studying, so that is what I did!

Becoming a chef.

I loved so much my OJT at the 3 amigos that I decided to stay and work at this restaurant for the rest of my life. I thought that I was going to get a premium wage with my years of experiences and by becoming a chef, but this wasn't the case. Pablo sold the restaurant to another chef who was really maddening. I eventually decided to quit and retire.

After all these years of working and giving my energy to other people, I decided to retire. I eventually was overwhelmed with work, and I wanted to take some time for myself and just watch my kids grow and telling them my life lessons, so that they won't make the same mistakes that I did. This was my career.
