Mathematics or no?

In the third year of high school, I need to choose if I want to continue my scholar ship with or without mathematics.

Choice 1 : Mathematics.

Choice 2 : No mathematics.

Great! I chose to continue with mathematics and learn that it a prerequisite course in the program in every Cegep. Now I need to choose what school I want to study at. The Management Science Studies program in College Momontrency or the one in Auntstic both are interesting which one should I pick?

Choice 1 : Apply to Montmorency.

Choice 2 : Apply to Ahuntsic.

Oh no! After not choosing the mathematics route I discover that I need them for the program where I want to go in the Cegep. I need to choose if I do late night courses after my high schools or, if I change my plan and change the program where I want to study.

I choose to apply in Montmorency in the Social Science with mathematics. After 2 years of hard works trying to be a straight's A student, I finish with an R-scores of 27. Now I have to choose where I want to study at university. I have the opportunity to choose between HEC or Udem.

I apply at Ahuntsic, in Social Science. This school offers some internship if the student want to experience their future career. I decide to take this opportunity that will give me an invaluable experience that could help me in my future job. After this internship in this company, they offer to take me as a part-time employee. I can choose to take this part-time job that would give me a foot in the door in this field of work, or I can decide to focus on my diplomat and maybe apply to other job after my university courses.

I sign up to go at the late night classes to go where I think I will like more studying in. As such I did 3 mounts of late night classes and finish my mathematics to apply at Montmorency or Athuntsic.

I decide to change my plan and go study Social Science The Individual courses. Sadly I lack of attention in class and fail some of my exams. I am just overwhelmed and decide to abandon this program.

The part-time job.

I keep the pat-time job when I go to university to get an income when I study. After I got my baccalaureate in human resources, my part-time job became my real job full-time. But this job is a dead-end job with no compensation package. I say to my coworkers that I do not feel fulfillment doing my job. She responds as follows: "If I were you, I would go back, change my plan and not choose this path.''

I need to focus more on my studies, so I choose to quit this job. This hard work without distraction is great. I can enjoy my time out of school and also be focus on my goal that is to get my diploma.

I choose to go to HEC. This business school has a great program with similar courses for all student and after the common classes I can choose my specialty. My plan is to continue in human resource.

I did it! I have finally my human resource diploma. As such, I have a lot of opportunity of work I could choose from. 2 company reach me by email and offer an interview but this interview is in the same exact time and day. I need to choose if I want to go to company 1 or company 2 knowing if I choose one, the other one won't give me another chance. I could also keep looking to get a better offer.

I choose the first company. They are a company that is working for the municipality of Laval. I reach out to the human resource to see if the job offer is still available. I discussed with them the compensation package that they are offering and what role I will be working in. After reading the job description I choose to stay in this company that gives me some advantages like an early retirement and a good income.

I choose to go see the company 2. They are a private company working to create some web pages for other company. They are a new company as such the manager is the one that I contact. They say that I would be hired to be the head of the human resource department. I am so happy to get this opportunity and accept this job that offer me some autonomy and a great income.

At first, I don't think I will like any of those two companies, and I want to try to look for a better offer and compare some company before choosing where I want to work for the rest of my life before retired. I also need to take into consideration what I want to do. I want to be able to go on vacation at least once a year.

Finally, after working for the city for about 30 years I can finally retire. I have enough saves to be able to retire and be a snowbird, watch my children grow and be proud of the life I had.

After about 3 years, a conflict accrued between two workers in the finance department. One of them made a grievance, and it lands on my desk. I read it and understand that the head of the finance department undermines her colleague, and it makes her uncomfortable to work with him. I will do some legwork to get to the bottom of this. First I will talk to other colleague to see if it is an isolate case. After I will talk to both of them separately to hear both sides of the story and talk to the big boss. I will, after all this, write my incident form to the manager, and write some solution that can resolve this conflict.

I retire at 65 years old. It is a little older than I wanted at first. I gain a lot of experience and can share with the next generation my knowledge. I share each week when I go to a business school to answer some question about the human resource field.

Got A job.

After looking for a good opportunity, I choose a little company that makes some handmade clothes. They are expanding and need a resource human representative to work with them. It's not a big company and do not offer a good income but it a great atmosphere and let me have 8 weeks of vacation each year. My colleagues are friendly and it easy to make decisions in group to improve the company. They also let me some autonomy with the hiring. I love this job, and I am happy that I kept looking for this company.
