You finally finished college! After talking with your parents you can think of 3 options on what to do for next year. You could either continue school by going to university or you could live your dream of becoming a freelance artist.

Since it was closer to your house, you decided to go to UQAM. In the variety of programs, two interested you the most. The Visual Arts program, and the Visual and Media Arts Concentration in Arts Education program. What will you choose?

You decided to go to Concordia for it's Faculty of Fine Art that contains nine departments. The ones that catch your attention are visual arts and creative arts therapies. With Art Therapy you will be able to help people find ways to understand themselves through the practice of art. On the contrary, with visual arts, you will be able to make art for yourself. What program will you choose?

As a freelance artist, you can think of two choices to start your career. To open an art account on social media to get known for your work, or to try to start selling the paintings you have at home.

You are now a Visual Arts student! There are many things for you to learn in this program like painting or sculpting. Since you took your semester with a part-time schedule, you need to choose one of the two medium to take for your first class.

Creative Arts Therapies.

You decided to study in the Creative Arts Therapies program! The hard work you did in every class paid off, you were able to find a job in this field. In addition, therapy is something that you find important, so you are happy to be able to help others. Even more since it is by sharing your passion for art.

Painting and Drawing (BFA).

For your first project of the semester, your teacher gave you a small canvas. She explained that you would have to do a composition where the focal point is a character of your choice. In addition, she wants you to make some relief by using different types of brushwork. For this, you will need a lot of paint. You could either buy yourself some new bottles of paint that could come in handy for other projects, or you could use the teacher's leftover paints recipients.

It's not like it matters to you after all, the packaging looks cool and doing some research would take away 10 precious seconds of your life. Now that you have your material it's time to start your project!

You used the teacher's leftover paint, and it was more than enough for your project. You got a decent grade, and your classmates keep complimenting your artwork during the critique. The feeling of fulfillment you sense in you makes you eager to start the next project. You got this, this class was made for you!

While doing your project you decided to take a sip of water but weirdly enough your drink tasted strange. After looking down you realized you drank from the wrong cup, the one containing paint water. Paint water from Lead-based paint... You start to feel extremely dizzy until you can't feel anything anymore.

You feel the world around you going black as you pass out on the floor. What a way to finish this story. You should've researched about Lead poisoning before buying your paint.

Sadly for you, no one tries to buy ones of your artworks. Since you decided to quit school, you have to find a way to make money. You could try to find a foot in the door job, or you could take time for yourself. You don't need to worry about not having a job, right?

It worked! Your art account is blowing up, and more people keep asking you to take art commissions. At this rate, you will be able to make enough incomes from this to live comfortably for a while.

In the end, you never found a job, you always pushed it to later. But, without a job you don't have any incomes, so you have to stay at your parents' house. I hope that you like the basement, make sure that you are comfortable as this will be your house for the rest of your life. Unless your parents kick you out, you'll live on television and some beer you can find in the fridge.

This sucks. The only place that was willing to hire you ended up being a dead-end job. An office job where you have no opportunity for career advancement. Let's hope you will not dread your work days, this will be your daily routine till you are old enough to retire.
