A new beginning for me.

Hi, my name is Amina. I finished high school in 2019, during COVID-19. I didn't know where to apply, what job to do and didn't have any guidance. I decided to start by picking a school where to study. Should I choose Ahuntsic College or Rosemont College?

Once at Ahuntsic College, which programme should I choose? The police programme or the criminology one?

I heard Rosemont College is known for it's nursing programme. Should I join?

Type of nurse.

Now that I finished 3 years of nursing school, should I study more and become a postpartum nurse or start as a registered nurse?

Now that I have chosen that I want to be a postpartum nurse, which hospital should I work at? Should I work at the Jewish General Hospital or at Saint-mary Hospital? They are all really good.

I love working here. There postpartum department is fully equipped and is always clean. They also have a NICU which incubate premature babies. I can work here until I retire.

I finished 3 years of Police Technology than went to the academy where I met a bunch of old friends from high school.

Working at the SPVM is the best. I got to solve a case with my partner. We both got promoted, and we are now training interns.

I will need to do 3 years of intensify learning, I will study in psychology, social work and criminology. But than I will need to decide which career path would I like to take.

I will now work as a special education technician. I will help kids with their work and help the teacher whenever a student misbehave. But I don't know if I should work with little kids or teenagers.

I love working with little kids. I smile from them makes me happy. But I don't know which school to pick.

This is my childhood school. They really helped me with my education. I am currently helping kids who are having difficulties in at home. It's my way of giving back to the school.

Helping teenagers is a difficult task. I have to be the one to talk to them about their problems. I have two options to choose from.

I enjoy my time here, there are lots of kids who are open to talk about how they are feeling because there are almost on there way to college.

It' one of the most diverse schools in the area. They have multiple programmes. They also have special classes to help teens have their high school diploma (motivation jeunesse). It motivates teens by making them love going to school in different ways.

Being a social worker means to help others in need. They can be from different backgrounds. All of these options are good, but which to choose from?

Working at the CLSC is a great reward. I get to work with immigrants, families in difficult situations and many more. Every day I get to work with new people. I just help a mother and her kid get back together.

There are so many homeless shelters in Montreal, but so little help. I try my best every day to help as many people that I can.

Being a registered nurse means doing everything. Unfortunately it requires me to do overtime every day. I am mentally exhausted. I don't think I will do this job for a long time.
