The beginning.

I was about to finish my degree in college in business management, and to option presented themselves. Ether go to university or go directly to work in a corporation. It took me time to figure it out, but I took my decision.

Choice 1 : Work in a corporation.

Choice 2 : Go to university

Corporation.

I was tired of school I just finished 3 years of college, and I thought it was enough. I was ready for work. I was looking everywhere, I did a lot of application, give my resume and had interviews. Everything was going fine, and I even got one offer for a job. The wage wasn't amazing, but I would have more free time. It was important for me to have more free time, I am young, and I wanted to live my twenties like I wanted. It was my first day, it was overwhelming between the on-the-job-training, meeting new people and all the new information, but I didn't mind. The work didn't look hard to do, and it was fun to see new things. I had my offices in the open-space, and I met my new colleague. After, my first official work day when I finished my on-the-job-training my colleague invited me to go get a drink with other people. I had nothing planned that day, I was supposed to go back at my place, and clean up a bit because I had guest the next day.

University.

After some though, I choose to go to university, but I didn't know which one to choose. It was ether UQAM or McGil.

I decided to go get a drink with my co-worker, it was nice. I learned a lot about some of them. We talked about work, and I realized that they all went to university. I felt weird a that moment, and I doubted myself. I just went to college, and I did an internship, but after that, I felt like a black sheep. They all had better wage then me when they started. After that night, I decided to go to university and do evening classes to get my diplomat.

Go back home.

I decided to go back home, I had chores to do. It was nice evening. The next day, my family visited me it was nice to see them I talked about my new work and my co-worker. After everything, my mom said that it is a dead-end job. I got mad about it I know that she never though I should go somewhere other than the family business, but I didn't want to go work at the mechanic shop. I know there would have been office politics because of nepotism. I told her that it is temporary and that I would go to school or change job later in life, but for the moment she shouldn't judge my choice. It was pretty hard for her to understand, but we changed subject after. After saying goodbye I started to regret my choice, I know she is right without a university diplomat I am not going to evolve in this corporation. I started to think if I should go to university or continued working there.

It was a tough beginning, but with my time management skill and internship that I had at the end of college I had great grades. I wasn't straight A's, but it was good enough. When I finished university, I got recruited in a big marketing firm I was so happy. I finally had my dream job. It was so nice to work there. I had a premium wage, my co-worker were nice, and it had a great retirement plan. Going to UQAM was the best decision I could've made I meet people that helped me to pull of my work. I wonder what would have happened if I choose to go to McGil.

I had a tough beginning, People were mean they didn't care about others work. During one teamwork project someone withheld information. I was so angry at them we were a team. I dreaded going to school. Everything felt wrong, but with hard work I pulled of good grade. In the end, I didn't find a job, but my family offered me one at their mechanic shop. I took this opportunity to go there and try my best. It was temporary at first, but the business really improved because of my work. So, I stayed longer, and it was fine. It wasn't what I dreamed of, but there were a lot of advantages. I had premium wage and the retirement plan was good.

Staying.

I decided to stay. I wasn't going to show my mom that she was right. I worked my ass of the first years, and I realized that it wasn't a dead-end job, I had real opportunity. It wasn't the perfect job, but the team was amazing and there for you when needed. Like that time time that I was sexually harassed by the new guy. There were all there for me. Everything fine now, the guy was fired after the intervention. I didn't go back to school. I stayed at this job. They merged with a bigger corporation, and they kept me. Now, because of my experience I have a premium wage. Not everything is perfect, but I am working to make it. I am happy with this job, and it is all I wanted.
