The door of high school had just closed behind me. I had graduated with honors, and I needed to choose the next door I want to open in front of me. The only problem is that the two options that were opened to me were complete opposites.
Choice 1 : Go to Ahuntsic college.
Choice 2 : Take a sabbatical year.
I am studying in the paramedical care program. Luckily for me, I love the program and, I made incredible friends. Life is great, but another choice is presented to me, my friend wants me to meet her boyfriends friend because she thinks we would be a great match. Here's the dilemma, do I meet the said friends, make memories and have a little bit more of a social life, or do I concentrate on my studies for now and worry about the romantic aspect of my life after graduation?

I booked my flight for Mexico with the wish to meet other young people, learn the culture and make many memories. Only, I don't know if I should book a return ticket or go with the flow.

Me and the boy hit it off instantly. We laugh and talk for hours and hours. We get together every day and decided to make it official. We move in together and plan our future. We both want kids in the next year, but is it irresponsible to have a baby while I'm also studying? Should we go for it or should we wait until I graduate?

Me and the boy connected really well, but the timing just isn't right. I'm busy with studying and my priorities are my future and my career. This being said, I decided to cut it off and to wait until I graduate to have a romantic relationship.

After nine long months of growing a baby, our little girl was born. We were over the moon. I took a year off after our child's birth and went back to school after. Since I have graduated, and I have everything I've ever wanted, which is a family, a career and a lot of love.

I finished my studies, started working and made sure we were financially stable before having a baby. We got pregnant one year after my graduation and couldn't be happier for the life we created for ourselves.

My return ticket is scheduled for in a year exactly, which means I have plenty of time to visit the country. I saw a good deal of beautiful scenery, whales, birds and so many more animals. I made some friends, and we made sure to have the time of our life before going back to our studies. I had so much fun, and I couldn't have wished for a better outcome.

I left with only a backpack and dreams. I made so many friends, and we explored new places together for the last six months, but my friends want to leave Mexico and go to Guatemala, I'm not sure if I should join them or not.

I fell in love with Guatemala. My friends and I explored the country for six more months, until they had to leave. Only, I fell in love with the culture and couldn't seem to bring myself to leave. It's now been four years of me living in Guatemala, I have a husband, a family, a job and so much fun. I am so grateful to have followed my friends over here.

I spent the last six months alone, making the best memories and living the best experiences. I went back to Quebec as planned and have since went back to school. This adventure was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I can't wait to travel again.
