The Beginning.

I'm 17 years old, and I'm graduating from high school. I have no clue what I what to do with my life and I have to decide what I want to do for the rest of my life. I really want to do something that gets me active, and I don't wan't to sit on a chair for the rest of my life.

Choice 1 : Go work at Mc Donald's

Working at Mc Donald's.

After I graduated from elementary school, I decided to work at Mc Donald'S. I started working here a few years ago. I felt really bad about this job. My job was boring I felt some sort of alienation. My lack of motivation grew on me, and I wanted to quit. I did overtime hours in this dead end job and my boss didn't want to abolish mandatory overtime. After the workday, my fulfillment was never enough, so it wasn't worthwhile for the company to keep me. I eventually got fired from the organization and felt so powerless about it. I had no accomplishment, and I felt like I had to start my life all over.

Choice 1 : Start over.

2 more years in school.

So I decided to go on and pursuit my education at College Montmorency. I choosed a random program that accepted anyone and did'nt really liked it... I had to do 2 years in this program, it's going to be painful.

Choice 1 : Change program for Fire Safety Program

Choice 2 : Change program for the Psychologist Program

Trade degree at Polymecanique.

I am now in school to become an HVAC technician. Here, I will learn how to install and repair refrigeration units and ventilation units. After that, I will have to find a job in this domain and work as a technician for the rest of my life.

Choice 1 : Go work at Navada (HVAC company)

Working at Navada in HVAC.

A few years ago, I got hired at an HVAC company called Navada, and they did a background check on me before they gave me the job. I first applied on a vacant position for this job. This new job was really fun, but it was not legwork. Then, I got sick, so I had to go on a leave of absence. Since this job had no compensation package, I was on my own for insurance. At least the HR understood my situation and was very kind to me. I eventually quit this job because I had no benefits with very low salary, and no pension.

Choice 1 : Start over

Fire Safety at Montmorency College.

I finally found something that truly passionate me. I made a lot of new friends at school, and I'm doing something I really love. I cannot wait to start a career in the firefighter industry. After 2 years of hard work, I'm finally graduating, and now I have to find my a job for my career.

Choice 1 : Go work for the city of Montreal.

Choice 2 : Go work for the city of Quebec.

Psychology Program.

I am now in the Psychology Program at my school. I really hate it, and it's not made for me. I am failing all of my courses and I eventually failed my session. Two weeks after the session ended, I received an email from the school saying that I got kicked out. Oh, well, I have to find another career.

Choice 1 : The Beginning.

Go work for the city of Montreal.

I got hired in my favorite city, Montreal! This is the big league for the firefighters, and I have to do a two-month formation. After two months, the HR contacted me to ask me in which fire station I want to go. This is a really tough choice because there's so many interesting fire houses in Montreal. In fact, there's 70 different fire station in the city. Now I have to decide what fire house I want to go?

Choice 1 : Station 51.

Choice 2 : Station 5.

Go work for the city of Quebec.

I don't want to work at Quebec City. It's way to far from my home and my family. I will feel so alone there and this was not my dream job. I have to choose a different path.

Station 5.

I'm now working at station 5.One of the best fire house in the whole city of Montreal. 25 years later, I can now say that I had enough of fighting fire, and I am now ready to go on my retirement. What a career I had!

Choice 1 : The retirement (the end).

Station 51.

I am now working at station 51 in the West Island. I am not getting along with the guys there. More often than not, workers wants to take advantage of the new rookies. Those rookies have to be careful of not getting sucked up in their game. The older guys are really good at withholding pertinent information from the younger guys. This is actually toxic for the work environment these guys. They hinder the rookies progression, and it's undermining. The rookies have to step up and stand for each other because if not, nothing will change for the future. I eventually go on a burnout and a major leave of absence.

The retirement (the end).

I'm finally at my retirement, and it feels so good. I worked all my life, and now I'm very tired, so I need to be careful with my health. I want to enjoy life with my beautiful wife and my granddaughters. I'm not too much stressed about money because I made sure I had set aside enough money before taking my retirement. Also, with my firefighter career, I have a pretty good pension that will help me clear my mortgage.
