Graduate from High School.

In High school, I was never a straight A student, and it was maddening. I never understood why my grades were so low, yet my peers' grades were so high. Once I reached college, I realized I was doing a cursory job in many of my classes. Procrastinating on homework was a sign of poor time management because I prioritized the social aspect of high school over academics. I put aside most of my work, and as a result, my teacher could see how little effort I was putting in. I rarely took the time to thoroughly check my assignments after completing them which drastically affected my grades. My teachers often told me that I had great potential, but in order to be a better student, I had to focus on my academics rather than prioritize social life. While I would want to enjoy my summer to the max I have to choose between Montmorency College or Marie-Victorin College in Social Sciences.

Choice 1 : Go to Montmorency College.

Choice 2 : Go to Marie-Victorin College.

I decided to apply to Montmorency College for the Social Study program after high school. This program now that I am in college I learned from the mistakes I made during my high school years. I can't deny that being more thoughtful about my work and staying disciplined has led to better results. I am proud of the progress I have made, but I also understand that consistency and focus will continue to be the key to my success. Going to Montmorency College has given me the necessary experience to get into my desired program in University. I had to choose between Sherbrooke University and McGill University.

Go to Marie-Victorin College.

I decided to go to Marie-Victorin College in Social Studies, so I could be with my friends from high school after graduation because I prioritized my social life. I did not learn from my experience in high school and kept doing a cursory job in my classes while being a party animal. I did not gain any relevant experience from my college year. I still didn't know what to do in university, so I started working odd jobs. All those job made me realize I could do more with my life… I could either volunteer in Thailand or go to Concordia University.

Go to Sherbrooke University.

I chose to go to Sherbrooke University in the general Law program because it offered a great perspective of law practices. I had no choice but to move out of my parents' house because of the distance. Since I was living on my own for the first time I decided to get a job to pay my bills. A coffee shop hired me, so I started working on weekends to make a good salary. This job helped me develop my social skills which came in handy at school. More often than not, I would stay after class to chat with my teachers and ask questions about the class, so they knew I was a motivated student. I also made some great friends who also shared a passion for law. My friends were all really driven and ambitious which motivated me even further. After 4 years, I officially graduated with a baccalaureate in Common Law and a master's degree in Corporate Law. Now I had to choose where I want to do next with my life! I could either do an internship in a Corporate Law firm or just start an on the job training, so I could start making a salary.

Go to McGill University.

I went to McGill University because its reputation is recognized worldwide which would make get to the top of the Corporate Law world pretty fast. Unfortunately, the tuition was very expensive, so I had to apply as a garbage collector to raise enough money to pay for it. I didn't get the full scholarship, so I did not receive a pension to pay for my studies although my grades were amazing and my social status skyrocketed with the amount of connections I made. After 4 years of my life, I had to choose what I wanted to do. I could either do an internship in a Corporate Law firm or get a career opportunity and get on the job training.

Volunteer Abroad.

I took the executive decision to volunteer abroad in Thailand. At first, I was very skeptical of going so far away without my family, but after weighing the advantages and disadvantages, I realized I could not miss this golden opportunity. Experiencing a new culture firsthand was better than any premium wage at a dead-end job. The other volunteers and I had a valuable experience together because we learned so much about the country. We had to have an in-depth comprehension of their customs in order to complete our mission. A disadvantage of volunteering in Thailand is that there is a lot of different food that can easily give you digestive issues, but I had enough medicine in my suitcase to ease my stomach aches due to the change in diet. An advantage of this trip was to experience Thailand's warm sunshine. Overall, I do not regret the fact that I volunteered abroad because it brought me great joy and experience. No need to earn a wage to gain experience. I was really satisfied with my trip but at the end of the trip I went broke because Iost my wallet on the plane, and I am pretty sure a strange guy named Paul stole it from me…. I was tired of all of this, and I wanted to make a life changing decision, I could either buy a convertible or do an internship in a law firm to become a Corporate Lawyer.

Go to Concordia University.

At Concordia University, I chose to major in business, At first, I felt alienated because business is something I was less familiar with. Over time, I found my way around and my colleagues, and we became friends. I also joined the photograph and videography club to increase my knowledge in marketing. One of my classes focused on the dynamics in the workplace environment and how easy it could be to be in an unfair power dynamic with bosses and coworkers. Due to a serial sexual harasser named Paul, the professors had to sensibilise us to harassment in the workplace and what to do if we were to experience or to witness it. I certainly didn’t want to be a victim to his attacks, so I vowed to avoid Paul at all cost.

Do an Internship in a Law Firm.

Internships are very important for growth and learning the ropes of careers you aspire to pursue. My first experience as an intern was interesting because I had the chance to put a foot in the door of a corporate lawyer working as a secretary at a firm. At first, I was very overwhelmed because I had not learned the ropes to this on-the-job training. It was also very hard to catch onto the corporate legal terms but after a few weeks as one of the interns, it came in handy. I felt like I was taking my dream career on a test drive. My internship was a very rich experience for me even though it could be overwhelming at times but certainly came in handy to learn more about the ins and outs of the career you aspire to pursue. I felt supported and guided during my internship at this law firm because the people were specialists in Corporate Law and I could get answers to questions that are not necessarily easy to understand when they aren't in practice.

When I aced my job interview in the Corporate Law firm for Dummies company, I was incredibly nervous. I did not know what to expect, as I had never worked in a serious place like that. I knew the wage was going to be relatively low, but I was fine with that. My first time with on the job training was pretty intense since I didn't know the ins-and-outs of working in a Law firm. As a Corporate Lawyer, I learned to talk to clients and settle small cases. I would have to say the trainer had a little bit of a bias towards me because I had no relevant experience before this. Overall, it was a great job. The only drawback were the rude secretary that would fight tooth and nail to use the coffee machine before me. It was hard not to tell her my wage is not high enough to deal with her tantrums.

After all that training I finally got my own little office. I was part of the team, and I had a permanent position. After a lot of years, it was hard to get myself to go to my workplace because I would get sucked up in different situations. It would hinder my performance at work and make me less productive. A coworker named Paul was always gossiping about people in the office and withheld a lot of important information about upcoming events to set up people around him. For a while Human Resources undermined his behaviour and dismissed the complaints about him more often than not. If we were to bring up his case again they would undermine me and tell us that it is not hindering my work therefore there was no need getting sucked up in this situation. It was very annoying because I knew Paul had been spreading rumours about me which hindered my opportunities. At some point, I got tired and decided to take action, so I told everybody to withhold a very important information from Paul concerning an event until the last minute so he would not have time to prepare. Undermining my slight feeling of guilt for shutting him out, I got sucked up in the secrecy. Once he had found out the important information he was surprised, disappointed and saying that it was wrong. We told him that we were just giving him a taste of his own medicine. Paul was certainly a rotten apple! He made me realize I should think about early retirement.

I decided to open a Corporate Law firm. So now, I own my own law firm. To everyone else, everything is right and fair, but corruption is ingrained into my company. I’ve bribed judges and even witnesses. I know my law firm is corrupted, but I like the power drive it gives me, and I like being in full control. I hired a lot of my own family to work for me, and this random guy named Paul that brought a lot of issues to my company. I asked of them to do favors for me, so they could receive money, and it worked well until some people started noticing the shady behaviour I had. I decided to then resign from my position, and think about my retirement.

Learn a Valuable Lesson.

During my internship in the summer, I was the youngest one so everyone treated me as their personal assistant especially a man named Paul. I was the recipient to his lingering stares, and it would make me extremely uncomfortable. He would make me get coffee for him every morning which made me dread going to work. Paul was infamous for his excessive flirting because he flirts with everything that walks. Some people didn't mind and often said he was harmless,but I received a lot more of his flirtation that I was dreading most of the time. To me, he was a perpetrator because his actions were unacceptable. I would always deter his office because when I was close by he would always find a reason to call me in. Other people started noticing my deterring of his office and started asking me questions about why his behaviour made me dreadful of this job. I explained to them why his behaviour was so inappropriate and some people dettered my accusations by saying it was just his nature and that I had nothing to worry about. Other people said that they were also recipients of his sexual harassment because he had flirted with them multiple times. Other people came forward to say that there were other perpetrators in this firm other than Paul and that this misconduct had been swept under the rug for way too long. I found it strange that the directors didn't see their employees dreaded coming to work.

Retirement.

My retirement plan was perfectly organized and contained everything I needed. Retiring can seem scary for some people because the drive of work is what gets people out of bed in the morning. Once I retired, I made sure to keep some hobbies that I could do during all the free time I had obtained. Thanks to the pension I received monthly, I was able to buy any material for the hobbies I was entertaining. Since I had my own business, I had set aside money to pay my mortgage in full meaning the stress of having a huge bill was non-existent.

I sold my house, and spent all the money I had left on a very nice convertible because I wanted to take the chance to buy something that would make me happy. With that convertible, I rode in the streets of Canada freely during the days, and I would sleep in it during the night. Even though I was homeless, I had a very nice car. That was until I crashed it into a tree, and went into a coma. Everyone wanted to know if I was going to wake up of if they had to go to my funeral.

I woke 7 years after my coma, and everything had changed. Nothing was the same, everyone had moved on, and the only thing I remembered were the minutes before the car crash. It took me 3 months to learn how to walk again, and 6 weeks after that drive another convertible. I still thought about becoming a lawyer, but the way my nurse helped me get back to my normal life after being unconscious for so long I thought about becoming a nurse to help other people. Whatever I chose I had to start all over again all up to college.

My funeral.

My family planned a beautiful funeral in my honour because they loved me a lot. I had a tragic death, and I'm sure I was happy until the end. I died with no spouse nor any kids because I always loved my freedom. I made that clear with all the choices I had made. Whether it was defending someone else's freedom or exercising mine I always held a great importance to freedom. I died a free woman.
