It was the end of high school. I finally graduated. I wasn't sure what to do next. One thing for sure, two choices were available to me. Should I go and study Social Sciences at Ahuntsic College or go to Rosemont College?

Choice 1 : Ahunstic College.

Ahunstic College.

I decided to go to Ahuntsic College. I got straight A's. In some of my courses, I did a cursory job. But because of my time management skills, I was able to pull off a passing grade in all of my courses. After 4 years, I graduated from Ahuntsic College and also got my master's from the University of Montreal. I can now apply for a job that will lead me to a career as a speech therapist.

Rosemont College.

After graduating and some deep thought, I've decided to go to Rosemont College and start a new part of my career journey! I'm really indecisive on which program to choose; there are so many options...

I chose to volunteer at a hospital, where I can help a wide variety of clients. It is very fulfilling, to say the least! The fact that I can see people light up when they can communicate properly or manage their disorders as the days go by makes me glad that I chose to become an SLP!

I've decided to get out of my comfort zone and get an internship at a London school. The environment is very different. The people, the way they communicate, and the culture. But it's what gives a plus to this whole experience. I feel like I'm able to develop new skills in order to become the best SLP that I can be!

Study Computer Science.

Computer science has been an option that I've considered for a couple of years. I really like the idea of being tech-savvy and problem-solving by helping people fix their network issues, creating websites, coding video games, and much more. I've put effort into my studies and barely passed my coding classes but still managed to push through. The only problem is, I suck at math... this is getting way too difficult!

I loved to learn, but as time went by, school just got more and more overwhelming. I couldn't handle the academic stress of having good grades and also managing a part-time job as a student. A lot of external pressure got to me, and I'm not so sure that college was for me in the first place. I should get some time off for myself.

Become an SLP.

After years of efforts that I've put into my studies, I can finally say that I'm ready to become a full-time SLP. I'm able to treat clients from elders to children. It was a long and difficult road, but it gave me the most knowledge and unforgettable experiences that I could've ever gotten. I don't know how many years I'll end up being in this career for, but one thing's for sure: the years will end up passing by, and I know that I'll have a wonderful retirement.
