I finish my DEC in Social Science in May 2025, and I am not sure what to do next with my life. I don't think I want to go to university directly after cegep. I have two options that interest me. Firstly, I want to travel. Traveling will bring me so much as a human being, understanding others way of life and seeing with your own eyes what is really happening in the world is so important to me. But, if I leave when I finish the cegep, at my return, I won't have a lot of money and my living situation in Canada will be complicated. The other choice is to buy a house in Canada with a friend and work to pay it all of. I would also have the opportunity to start my own political journalism page on social media, something I want to do for a long time and now is the time because politics are becoming mainstream with the attention on political events like the US elections.
Choice 1 : Go travel and think about your economic future when you'll get back
Choice 2 : Stay in Canada and make sure you have everything you need to live before going to travel
I left for Spain, where I am originally from. I am so excited to finally discover this part of me that I knew nothing about. Spain is beautiful and I am perfecting my Spanish. I am really happy to be here. I even got a job offer at a small restaurant owned by a friend of my family, I don't know if I should start working this early in my trip. I would come back to Canada with more money, but I wanted to discover the world.
Choice 1 : Decline the offer and continue traveling
Choice 2 : Accept the job
I decided to stay In Canada to buy a house and work on my journalism project. I'm happy to be working hard with my friend, I'm creating a better future for myself and working on a project that passionate me. We didn't buy the house yet, but we're debating which one to buy. We visited one for $540 000 that was not pretty but that we could definitely afford and another one at $630 000 that we're not sure we can pull off but my friend is positive and don't think we need to stress, we'll fin a way he said.
Choice 1 : Buy the $540 000 house
Choice 2 : Buy the $630 000 house
I'm a new employee at the restaurant in Barcelone. The staff is really nice and my Spanish has improved so much over the last couple of weeks of work. But honestly I feel empty and not in my place. I wanted to explore the world not stay in single city for months, I regret my decision. I quit. I need to stay true to the objectives I set in the first place.
Choice 1 : Quit the job and go back to traveling
I'm glad I didn't accept the job offer in Barcelona. I'm now in Bordeau, France to see my cousin, and he wants to go to the museum tomorrow, but I would rather go at Plum Village. It's a Buddhist monk monastery that is sometimes open to the public. I love their philosophy of life, and I would love to go meet them in their peaceful village. My cousin really wants to go to this temporary exposition on Inuit art. I don't know what to do.
Choice 1 : The Inuit art museum
Choice 2 : Plum village
We bought the $630 000 house, and it's beautiful, but we are not able to pay it. I work 40h a week, and I have no time to work on my journalism project. I could continue like this for a couple of years or abandon the project and go back to my parent's house to get back on my feet.
Choice 1 : Go back to my parents house
Choice 2 : Work harder and try to make it work
We bought the $540 000 house, and things are going really well, we are easily paying our mortgage, and I have a lot of time to dedicate to my new social media page. My time management is on point, and I have a great balance between work, friends and family, and my project. My first videos were about the relationship between the political left wing and the right wing and why a lot of countries are so polarized. I am passionate about the subjects that I speak about, but I hardly have any views. I am thinking of changing my subjects to more mainstream topics.
Choice 1 : Keep working on the topics you love
Choice 2 : Change your subjects to get more views
I finally accepted to put aside my ego for one day, and we're at the museum to look at a really interesting exposition on Inuit art. There is a really pretty girl just in front of me, I think she's a trainee at the museum. I don't know if I should go talk to her.
Choice 1 : Don't annoy her while she's working
Choice 2 : Go talk to her
I convinced my cousin to come with me to the monk village, I really hope to find inner peace and my life purpose. We have our first group meditation tonight, and I'm really exited to learn the ropes of meditation. My cousin met some teens earlier in the day that invited him to "chill' instead of going to meditate. It's been so long since I last smoked, but I want to find inner peace.
Choice 1 : Go smoke, you deserve it.
Choice 2 : Go to the group meditation
I'm back at my mom's house. I bit off more than I could chew, and its sucks. My dream of becoming a home-owner is broken because I got caught up in the esthetic of the house. I don't know what to do next with my life. Should I just give up and leave Canada to go travel or try buying another house?
Choice 1 : Go travel and think about your economic future when you'll get back
Choice 2 : Buy another house
I am currently not happy with my living situation. More often than not, I eat ramen to be able to pay my mortgage. All the stress is overwhelming. I feel like I'm stuck. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to do quick and easy money by working with a friend of his. It's definitely not honest money but what other choice do I have.
Choice 1 : Go work for your friend's friend
Choice 2 : Keep working hard
My views went up a bit in the last weeks, and I got contacted by a journalist that offered me on the job training while being able to make content for my channel. He said he liked my authenticity. It's the perfect opportunity to make contacts and to build my reputation as an independent political journalist. But, it would mean I don't have as much time to work, I might have to go out less.
Choice 1 : Internship!!!
Choice 2 : I want to go out more
I changed my content to right wing propaganda because it's really trending right now with the Andrew Tate era. I have 1.6 million views in the last week!!!! Sponsors even paid me to talk about their product in one of my videos. Things couldn't be better, I have money now. I'm going out with my friends to celebrate.
Choice 1 : Party!!!!!
I'm back in the hotel with my cousin, and I'm thinking about that girl. I should have gone to talk to her, my judgment was impaired because of the stress and fear. I regret it.
Choice 1 : Back to traveling
I went to talk to the intern who was being trained at the museum. She couldn't talk but gave me her number. We went on a date to a cafe and after a couple of weeks started dating. We just got married in Barcelona and we just bought our home on the cost of Barcelona. I am so proud and happy I went up to her.
Choice 1 : You found love and stayed in Spain
We got caught, and I'm now banned from the village. What a dumb decision that was. I found inner peace but just for a couple hours, drugs are really not the solution for a happy life.
Choice 1 : Make the right decision, find inner peace.
The guided meditation was great, I met a lot of really interesting people and got so relaxed. The monk, brother Phap Huu, who was guiding us through the mediation inspired me. He was so calm, caring, confident and intelligent. I want to be a monk now. I will keep practicing mindfulness, it really feels like home.
Choice 1 : I found inner peace
I am now working as a driver for a shady dude. I deliver cars to different warehouses in Montreal. One night I crashed the car and lost consciousness. I woke up in the hospital, handcuffed. After prison, I'll stay out of crime.
Choice 1 : Clean money is the best money
After weeks of hard, hard work, 50 hours a week and so much stress, I won the lottery. One million dollars. What a relief, I paid the whole mortgage, and I am going to Spain.
Choice 1 : Spain here I come
My test drive in journalism is going great, the work drives me, I love it. My channel is really popular, and I am now a reference in politics in Quebec. My life is going great. I'll continue doing this until my retirement.
Choice 1 : Good job try again
While partying, I realized I had lost my path. At the start, I wanted to make a difference in society by explaining to the average citizen the reality of politics in the world. My thirst for money corrupted me and my values. I need to go travel to find myself back.
Choice 1 : Go find yourself
