University-or-Job

Apply to Concordia University.

Now in college, with my studies finally nearing their end, I had a lot uncertainty about what to do next. Aside from that, I had two paths in front of me: apply to Concordia University or start working at a company.

Choice 1 : Apply to Concordia University.

Choice 2 : Look for a job.

Go to Concordia University.

I attended Concordia University, getting an 80+ in most of my classes. I broke sweat for two long and fruitful years, and I graduated. Now I'm finally prepared to land the job that will set me on a prosperous career path in finance in the business world.

Choice 1 : Apply to Concordia University.

Concordia University

Find a job.

The fact that I have joined HSBC as a trainee, the same company that I deeply admire, gives me great pleasure. At the present, I am going through practical training sessions and have just started learning more about the profession and the workplace. So far the best part has been the kindness and consideration from my teammates. They have been the true essence of my journey. It is also very rewarding that every one of them is willing to help and provide their expertise. Although the current trainee salary does seem to be directly proportional to the current level of enthusiasm each worker exerts, I view it as a simple opportunity to learn and mature.

Look for a job.

Having completed my studies, I decided to enter into some working experience as this has been my path after school. However, it was not as smooth as my hopes. In the beginning, I found it difficult to get employed since my qualification was limited to my college diploma and most companies preferred filling their job vacancies with applicants possessing a university degree. This was sometimes frustrating, especially when I watched someone with a higher qualification acquire much better opportunities. There were sad moments when I was very tired of searching.

Choice 1 : Look for a job.

Starting working.

I was finally able to find employment at a small company after a month of searching. My initial happiness was due to the fact that I had secured a job and was able to start work. Things started to change over time. I began to realize that the workload was much more substantial than I had expected. I felt overwhelmed by the manager's assignment of many tasks with tight deadlines. The pressure was too much for me, especially since my salary did not reflect the amount of work I was doing while I was putting in my best effort.

Choice 1 : Look for a job.

Going back to Concordia University.

I chose the first of the two options. Now, I am going back to University to continue my studies. This job requires more knowledge and over time-work. Luckily everything I learned at my college will come handy while taking University courses. The second option was very bad. Because the less you have diploma the less you will find a work.
