How the story begins.

It all started when I was in high school and didn't know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I went to see the guidance counselor and told him I wanted something active and with challenges. He told me that the Prehospital Emergency Care program would really suit me. I hesitated a lot because I also wanted to do like my dad and go study Police Technology. Both programs were given a college Ahuntsic.

I arrived at school on the first day and started my classes. It was a big adjustment from high school and my 9 classes were exhausting me. I was living far from the school, so I had to take the train and the metro to go to school each day and that would take at least 3 hours a day of transport. I did two semesters like this, but then I talked to a friend, and we were thinking of moving into an apartment near our schools. Moving away from home and paying my rent would be hard because it's a lot of money, but on the plus side I would have a lot more free time to study and work.

To enter the Police Technology program, I had to pass a running test. The test Cooper is to run 2.2 kilometers in twelve minutes. I have a hard time with my cardio, so it was a challenge for me. The day of the test, I was sick, and I only did 2 kilometers, so I was not accepted. I was sad because it was a dream of mine to be a police officer like my dad, but at the same time, I told myself that there was so much more waiting for me. I could still try next year, or go into another program.

Move into an apartment.

I decided to move into an apartment with two of my friends at the beginning of my second year of college. I was closer to school, and it gave me more time to study which helped a lot because I had better grades. Although I worked a lot to pay for my rent, my schedule was manageable, and I made it work. I had so much fun with my friends each night when I came home from school. After a year, I had to choose between staying for another year or going back home.

Stay at home with my family.

I chose to stay at home and keep saving money for the future. I still had three hours a day of transport to do, and it was really harder to find enough time to study. Also, my younger sister still lives at home too, and she is a monster. I mean, I love her, but we fight a lot, and sometimes it's hard to be with her all day. This is why, I would not stay home. I tried again the next year, and got in! However, I had so much fun in the other program I started that I wanted to pursue Prehospital Emergency Care instead. TRY AGAIN!

I decided to stay for two more years, until my program was almost done. The only thing left was to choose where I would do my on the job training. I was hesitating because Urgences-Santé seemed fun because of the action, but SPLL was where I grew up, and I love the suburbs.

I started four months ago, and I like almost every aspect of the job. The only problem is my partner. He is an older man, and sometimes he makes comments on my physique. I told him to stop several times, but he hasn't. I had to quit my job because of it. TRY AGAIN!

I love working at SPLL. My partner is amazing, and I work close to my home. However, we had a call this morning about a male with an injury. We arrived at the scene, and saw a man with a bullet wound. We saw another injured man in the alley nearby and understood that our patient was the offender. The man offered us money to keep us quiet. Should I take the money, or report the crime committed.

I chose to report the crime to the police. It turned out that the man was a serial killer, so I got a medal for bravery. I stayed at SPLL and worked for two more years. I then had the chance to go to university to specialize myself, or stay on the road full-time.

I passed all of my classes and became a Paramedic in advanced care. I was so happy to be able to help even more of the community. Many years later, I thought about going back to university a second time to get my teaching degree and teach my passion to young adults.

I met a lot of new people in my classes and I graduated with one of my friends. All that was left to choose was which school would I teach at. I loved College Ahuntsic because it was where I attended, but on the other hand, John Abbott seemed nice, too.
