I'm in grade eleven, and I need to choose the program I want to apply to for college. I've always loved science and mathematics, but a part of me feels like there might be another path for my future than that.
Choice 1 : I’m going to Lionel-Groulx College for Natural Sciences.
Choice 2 : I'm going to Ahuntsic College for Police Technology.

Great news! I've been chosen to proceed to the next step of the acceptance process for the program, which involves some physical tests, such as running. However, I hate it, and I'm not good at it. My parents are worried that I won’t pass the test, so they suggested they hire a coach, but I think I can practice by myself. It kind of stresses me out to have a coach. What should I do?
Choice 1 : I can pass the test by practicing by myself!
Choice 2 : I agree to have a coach.
I knew I didn’t want a coach, but I did it to make my parents happy. However, I didn’t think it would be this problematic. We started meeting twice a week, and I felt like he was being a bit flirty. At first, I thought he was just trying to make me feel at ease since I was shy, but it only got worse. After one practice, he crossed a line, he tried to sexually harass me. I couldn’t believe it. I went home and forced my parents to fire him. I was too devastated and gave up on Police Technology. I couldn’t stand the thought of dealing with people like that for the rest of my life.
Choice 1 : The End
I've started training 2 to 3 times a week, running to get better, and I was so motivated that I never skipped a training session before the test. I was getting better and better. I did, in fact, do it! I’ve been accepted into the program I wanted. School starts in 2 weeks, and now I don’t know if I should get a train pass or just take my car to go to school since is 30 minutes away. Help me make a choice!
Choice 1 : Take the train pass.
Choice 2 : Take my car.
It was not a good idea, it was so tough to find parking. I kept being late to my classes because of the traffic, which was hard to predict, and the time to find parking was never the same. I was maddening, so I changed my plan. I didn’t have a choice, I decided to get a train pass. If I had known, I would have taken it at the start of the month, it would have saved me money.
Choice 1 : Take the train pass.
Everything was going well by train. I went to all of my classes on time and had less stress. The rest of the session went great, I made friends and had good grades. It was now time to apply if you wanted to be a cadet at a municipal police department for the summer. I don't know if I should. I love my part-time job at Barbies; it's calm and easy, but on the other hand, I could learn more about my profession if I become a cadet. Should I do it?
Choice 1 : Do cadet.
Choice 2 : Stay at Barbies.
It wasn't a good idea. Everyone was telling me how much they loved their experience as a police cadet. I was really sad and regretted my choice. At least I can do it next year.
Choice 1 : Let’s go back to school!
I had the best experience ever! I did on-the-job training since it was new to me to be a police cadet, and I really loved it. I got to learn the ins and outs of police work, starting with the basics. I even arrested a guy the other day! We used radar and caught someone went way above the limit. I did well, and I even got a good wage and did some economics. So, my summer was insane!
Choice 1 : Let’s go back to school!
I’m in my second year of Police Technology, and everything is going well. I’m getting straight A’s in everything, and I’m even becoming closer with my friends. Everything is going smoothly and simply, but by my third year, I’ll have to decide whether I want to continue my studies in university with a focus on criminology or go straight to the National Police School of Quebec (ENPQ).Help me make that choice!
Choice 1 : National Police School of Quebec.
Choice 2 : University.
Oh, no! Wrong choice. I loved it, but I didn’t even have enough money to pursue my degree for longer than six months. It demotivated me, and I stopped school forever, working at Walmart for the rest of my life. I should have pursued a degree at the police university….
Choice 1 : Start again!
It was so nice. I even got a job offer from the Montreal Police Department, so I didn’t have to pay any fees for the training. Everything went so well! I learned how to use a gun and a Taser. I also learned all the laws, like the Criminal Code and everything. It was a lot, but I made it! I now have my badge, and I need to choose which police station (PDQ) I want to work at.
Choice 1 : PDQ 5.
Choice 2 : PDQ 21.
It was my first day, I had all my uniform, and I was excited. I made a few arrests, which was nice, but nothing else. It’s been six months now, and I don’t really like it. It’s boring. There’s nothing happening in Dorval. I deal with some domestic violence cases and minor crimes, but only once every 3-4 shifts. I want something more exciting. Back to choosing which police station I should work at!
Choice 1 : Choosing the PDQ I should work at!
I love it here, it fits all of my criteria. There's a lot of action, like drug trafficking, robberies, and even some murders from time to time. It’s a lot to take in, but I feel like it drives me and gives me a challenge every day to help people. Everything was perfect until one night, during a shift, I caught my dad drunk driving. He could go to jail for that. I can’t believe it. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Arrest him.
Choice 2 : Let him go.
I knew I shouldn’t have arrested him. Now, all my family is so mad at me, they don’t even talk to me anymore. I know it’s wrong to drive drunk, but maybe family is more important than my job. I quit my job because it was the only way to see my family and for them to forgive me. I don’t know what I’ll do with my life.
Choice 1 : Go back to square one.
What if someone had seen me not arrest my dad? I’m scared. But I think I made the right choice. My dad went home and took an oath that he wouldn’t do it again. Now, after a month, nothing happened. It was risky, but it was worth it. It’s been seven years since I’ve been working as a police officer, and now I have a dilemma. My brother is getting married in two weeks in the Bahamas, but at the same time, I have to attend a court hearing as a witness because I was involved in a hostage situation.
Choice 1 : Go to the weeding.
Choice 2 : Go to the tribunal.
I thought the judge could reschedule the date, but they couldn’t, so I missed it. Because of me, the criminal who was supposed to be in jail is out in the wild, potentially causing more victims. My boss was so mad that he fired me. I’m devastated, but at least the wedding was great. I’ll probably change municipalities, I’ll see what I’ll do with that.
Choice 1 : The End.
I went to the tribunal because I needed to go. I knew I had to explain the situation to my brother, and he completely understood. He even held a small gathering, shared his wishes, and recreated the ceremony when he came back, so we could experience a little bit of it. The suspect went to jail because of my testimony, so I did well. I love working at the SPVM, and I have a beautiful family, a boyfriend and two girls. I love my life and will continue to be a police officer for a long time! You did some good life choices!
Choice 1 : The End.
I was accepted into the program, but it’s really difficult for me. My friends keep hanging out, but I can never join them because I have so much homework and work to do. With work and everything else, I don’t know if I can really focus on my courses and adjust my time management. Maybe I need a break. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Take a break from school.
Choice 2 : Focus thoroughly on school.
The break allowed me to work a lot at my job, and I was able to afford some travel to volunteer abroad. I loved it; it made me realize so much and helped me understand how much I love to help people. Maybe, I needed that break to realize that I want to pursue Police Technology and dedicate my life to helping others.
Choice 1 : Apply in Police Technology.
I put aside distractions and focused a lot on school. It wasn’t enough though. I kept getting bad grades even though I put in a lot of time and effort. Maybe school isn’t for me, but this program definitely isn’t. I used to love math and science, but not anymore. I think I’ll quit school and get a full-time job.
Choice 1 : Try again!
