You just finised cégep and now it is time to decide what you want to do next. Should you continue what you are currently doing, waste no time and go to university in education to become a teacher. Or do you want to take a break from school and take a gap year to work, make money and do things.

After only a few days you found a job as a florist which is a very cool because you always loved flowers. Your boss is a very cool lady that travelled all over the world. After many months of hard work you have some money to spend, you want to spend it on something that you will never forget. You thought about taking skydiving lessons for a long time as it was always a thing you dreamed of doing. But you boss is also trying to convince you to go to Vietnam for a month, she says that she knows all the best spots and that it is the best country to travel to in the world. Should you take skydiving lessons or listen to her advice and book a trip to Vietnam?

You chose to listen to your teacher and booked a flight to Vietnam. During the flight, you are frightened because it is the first time that you leave the country, you don't speak their language, you don't know what you are going to do over there and what if I get hurt? Your anxiety is taking over but, you take deep breaths and begin thinking more clearly: You are going to have so much fun during your trip, meeting new people, discovering new places and experience the culture. 30 days later... Wow, it is already the last day of your trip. You did not see the time pass, between going out with new people, swimming and hiking you did not have a second to be bored. You're more than happy with the last month, you learned so much and just can't wait for your next trip.

You chose the skydiving lessons. Wow, you're a bit scared of your decision, but you are happy you took it, you know you're not going to regret it. First lessons takes you directly into the fun, after the explanation of a few rules you take the plane to the jump zone. For this first jump you're going to be with an experienced teacher. You made your first jump and were addicted immediately. The feeling of fall became a drug quickly and without you knowing it, you had found a passion for life. Over the months you started to take it more seriously and got proposed to a special formation to become a skydiving teacher. Your task would consist of jumping with the inexperienced people. You accepted on the spot and made it a career. Looking back, you always knew you wanted to be a teacher but didn't think a single choice could a make such a huge impact on your whole life.

You hand over your registration document to these two girls. They ask you a couple questions about your experience in photography and why are you joining the club. Your answer by saying that you want to learn more about photography. The months pass by, you discover many new things thanks to the help of your new friends. You're able to get a few contracts and create for different brands. You are quickly expanding your photography to videography and, you develop a passion for filmmaking. Your skills make you earn a small amount of money, and you always find time between your classes to create some more. You realize that you might have the opportunity to make it into a career, should you stop school and invest all your time in a creative career or should you stay at school and pursue your studies?

Choice 2 : Prioritze your studies.
The running club is exhausting, you have to train at least twice per week with the team, you also have to do three solo trainings. Your days are full, and you don't have that much time to yourself. But that's okay because you feel great and you see your performances becomes better with each day of training. You set yourself a goal at the beginning of the year, run a marathon under three hours. To achieve this goal, you need to be constant and can't afford to miss any trainings. You occasionnally miss trainings due to injuries but it does not affect you too much. A few months of hard work pass and you feel more than ready to achieve your goal to the marathon. The race is the next week and you push yourself hard to be at your best. During the race you give it all but unfortunately can't be fast enough to achieve your goal. You're a little disappointed but very quickly you regain your morale when you find your family in the audience. You haven't lost your spirit and you're ready to continue your training.
Choice 1 : Prioritze your studies.
Having a career in a creative environment is not easy. At the beginning you don't get many contracts and it's hard to get money. After a few complicated months, you are forced to find another part-time job. Day by day, you enjoy the creative process less and end up giving up. Until the day you find one of your old unfinished projects. You decide to finish this short film that is supposed to represent your life and your difficulties. You published it online and very quickly, the film was loved. You gain an audience and subsequently, get contracts with major brands. Now you can make a career out of it.

You kept it up at school and are now a graduate!!! Congratulations you can now use your diploma to find a job and have a career. You also developed many passions that will stay with you during your life. You feel ready for what's next and can't wait to enjoy life without school assignments. You look back at the choices you made and feel more than happy about what you achieved. (:
