Here you are at the end of your 5 year high school journey. You are really happy to have graduated, but now, it's time to decide what you want to do next. For the past few months, you have been conflicted on whether you want to continue in the Social Science program to get into computer science once you get to university, or to continue in the Natural Science program to get into Med School later on.

Your first semester went pretty smoothly. You kept all your good studying habits and time management skills from high school, and that helped you pull off straight A's in all of your classes. Since your time management skills were good, you found yourself with a lot of free time on your hands. So, you decided to try out for the school's basketball team to keep yourself occupied for the following semesters. You've always been good at basketball, and the coach was able to recognize that right away. Not only did he select you to play for the team, he put you in the starting line-up. It didn't take much time for other people to recognize your talent. After only 10 games, you receive an offer to play division 1 basketball for one the top schools in the United States. You don't know what to do. Your dream has always been to play at the higher level, but you're not sure if you want to leave your hometown where your family and friends are.

Your first semester was a nightmare. Even with your good studying habits, you weren't able to pull off some good grades. The program was a lot more difficult than what you anticipated and that was very maddening. In your second semester, you end up meeting a few guys in your program, and you start studying and hanging out with them. On your 18th birthday, they invite you to come celebrate at the club, but there is an issue. You have a final in chemistry the next day, and you are barely passing the class.

The move to the U.S. wasn't too bad. You were able to adapt pretty quickly and make some new friends in your new town. After two years in the states, you manage to maintain your good grades while drastically improving your game. Everybody sees your progress, and you start gaining a lot of attention in the basketball community. Your coach calls you up to his office one day to talk to you. He informed you that you are one of the lottery picks in the upcoming NBA draft, and he was wondering if you would want to skip your last year and enroll yourself in the draft.

You made a big sacrifice for your future, and it played out perfectly. After all of your efforts in college, you got offered a scholarship to Concordia University. At the same time, your new girlfriend wants you to come with her on her dream volunteering project. The issue is that it's going to be abroad in Afghanistan for 6 months. This would mean that you can't take the scholarship. What should you do?

The academic comeback.

You stayed home, and did a thorough study of the material. Your new friends were a bit disappointed that you didn't come out with them, but it was worth it. Even though the exam was tough, you managed to pull off a good grade on your exam. You used this new motivation and discipline to push through all of your classes in college and graduate. The only thing is you're not sure if you want to continue your studies right away or take a year off and travel.

You had a great night at the club, but your studying time was really affected. You tried your best to squeeze in a study session before your exam, but you were too overwhelmed by the amount of material you had to study so you just went to bed. Obviously that had a big effect on how your final played out. Unfortunately, you failed your exam and your class. At this point, you feel like you have nothing to lose. So, you keep on going to the club every day, and you completely ignore and put aside your school obligations. Now, you're on the verge of getting kicked out of the school.

The big stage.

You end up getting picked first in the draft. Your childhood dream finally came true. You are now a professional basketball player, and you signed your first multi-million dollar contract in the NBA as well as your first multi-million dollar sponsorship. With all this money coming in all at once, your best friend since high school offers to help you manage your money and your sponsorship deals, so you can focus on basketball. Your mother and your pregnant girlfriend would rather you meet with a professional financial advisor instead.

As your last semester was coming to an end, everything was good. Your grades were good, and you were still one of the lottery picks in the NBA draft. Life was good until the last game of the season. After going for a rebound, you fell and got seriously injured. Since doctors weren't sure if you were going to recover properly, no team picked you. Slowly you started getting back on your feet and that meant it might not be the end of your basketball career. Your old basketball coach knows a few people who could potentially get you into the European basketball league. From there, you can try to get in the NBA. Your girlfriend on the other end isn't supportive of that decision. She's concerned you'll get injured again. She would rather you continue in your field of study.

You decided to stay in Montreal, and take the scholarship at Concordia. Unfortunately, you had to break up with your girlfriend since you couldn't see how a long distance relationship would work out, but that's fine. Everything else is great. After 4 years, you finish your degree in computer science, and get offered a premium wage job with good benefits overseas in Dubai. You're a bit skeptical at first, but the advantages are almost too good to pass up. The pension plan offered by the company was what sold it to you. So, you pack up your stuff and go. You end up settling down in Dubai and starting a family. You and your family get to take vacations every year, enjoying life to the fullest even after retirement.

You were so madly in love with your girlfriend, and decided to follow her on her volunteering trip in Afghanistan. The both of you were helping little kids at school. You guys made some invaluable memories with those kids, and you finally feel like you have a purpose. Now, you're debating if you guys should prolong you're volunteering trip or go back to Canada.

The sabbatical.

You ended up taking a one-year sabbatical to explore Europe. You got to meet a lot of new people. You even got to meet your soulmate while on that trip. When you came back to Montreal, you were performing better than ever at school, and you were able to land yourself a paid internship at your dream corporation. They liked you so much as an intern, so they offered you to take one of the vacant positions. Since you liked the people and the office politics, you accepted the position. Life is good now, you are a university graduate, and a new hire in your dream job.

Unfortunately, you really overworked yourself and started to burnout. Your grades started to go right back down, and you lost all motivation to continue your studies. You end up getting kicked out of the school, and you fall into a deep state of depression. This affected all aspects of your life including your job. Your manager realizes that you haven't been working properly for the past few weeks, and decides to fire you on the spot. You are in absolute disbelief, and your state of depression gets even worse. Now, with no income, you get evicted from your place and become homeless.

You dropped out, and took the time off, but you didn't take the time to reflect on what you want to do with your life. So, you had no choice but to take a job to pay your bills. Now you're stuck in this dead-end job with no life goals. On top of that, at your work, you have to deal with your manager who keeps on aggressively flirting with you all the time. You already complained to human resources about the sexual harassment you have been dealing with, but nothing changed. Now, every day, you dread going to work. You don't know what to do anymore. You became a total failure. So, you decide to take the easy way out, and kill yourself.

It was hard for you, but you managed to focus back on your studies, and get your life back on track. You got your grades back up, and got accepted to Med School you always wanted to go to. You will finally get to be a doctor like you planned originally.

You trusted your best friend to be your financial advisor and manager. You got the chance to buy all the houses and cars you always wanted. Got to take vacations all around the world in the off-season. Your life and career was going great, but when it came time to retire, you realize that all the money you've been putting aside for your retirement goes straight to your best friends secret account. Unfortunately, he had access to everything, so you're stuck with absolutely nothing. He stole everything, and you could no longer take care of your assets or your family. It got to the point where the bank came to repossess your house and cars. Your now wife is furious because she had told you not to trust your "best friend". She decides to leave you and take the kids. Here you are now, a retired professional basketball player left with nothing to his name. What a shame!

You went with the financial advisor, and you do not regret it. While having an amazing playing career, your financial advisor made sure you would have an even better retirement. He kept you on track with your spending and savings. All of your mortgages and cars are paid. You own plenty of investments that will allow you to maintain your lifestyle even after losing that drive of work. When the time came to retire from the sport you loved, you got the chance to go down as one of the greatest to ever the touch an NBA court. You even get to live like one with your family with the money you put aside.

Even though your girlfriend isn't supportive of this plan, she packs her stuff, and moves with you to Barcelona where you get offered to play in the Liga ACB for FC Barcelona. You slowly get back to your old self, and start playing like you never got injured in the first place. One day, your coach informs you that a few NBA teams have been watching my games, and are interested on getting you to play for them. One of those teams is the Los Angeles Lakers. There was no way you would pass up on this chance. You get to live your dream, and play with your favorite player of all time; LeBron James. Your life is finally complete. You have a family. You live in your dream house. You drive your dream car. You have your dream life back. Nothing is better than that!

The long run.

After all, your girlfriend just wanted the best for you, so you listened to her. You found yourself a job that will get you a decent wage with some good benefits. You're happy, but the love of the game is still there, and being in this job is killing you inside. You are able to support your new family, so you don't complain. A few years later, you cross your old coach at a bar, and offers you a position as assistant coach for your old school. The idea of being back in the sport you love is making your heart jump. You accept the job offer on the spot. You're doing such a good job as assistant coach, NBA teams scout you as assistant coach. You accept the offer, and get promoted to head coach pretty quickly. It was like the final piece to make your life complete. You are finally happy inside. You are back to the sport you love. Life is good again.

You decide to go back to Montreal, and continue your studies in medicine. Your trip in Afghanistan completely change your perspective on life. You decide to always donate any extra money you have to the kids in Afghanistan or any other country where people are struggling. When you finally graduate, you decide go abroad, and practice medicine in countries in need. You even open your own charity foundation for countries like Afghanistan and Palestine. You have found a new purpose to life with your new perspective from your volunteering trip.

You decided to continue your service in Afghanistan for another 6 months. You are really enjoying your time, but the fun is short-lived. One day, your group received a random letter from the Talibans. They think your volunteering group is corrupt and is stealing donation money for yourselves. They started threatening you guys to leave, but you thought it was a fake letter. A few weeks later, while you were going into the city, a random car pulled you over, and asked for you to step out the car. It turns out to be some Taliban members, and they kidnap you. Nobody ever saw you again after that sadly.
