Where to start?

It's the end of high school. All of your friends know in which program they want to apply for a cegep, but you are not yet sure. Your family has often told you that they will see you through the law. You could very well see yourself studying with codes of law, and it’s true that you really like defending the world, negotiating and arguing. However, you have always had a weakness for a document and presentation layout, so you are very much considering the option of going into graphic design as well.

Choice 1 : Do a Paralegal Technology at College Ahuntsic.

Choice 2 : Go to a Graphics program.

Harder than you thought.

You are satisfied with your choice to enter technical studies, but it is the second semester, and you realize that having an R rating of at least 30 to enter university seems more difficult than you thought. You struggle and your classmates are getting straight A’s. You wonder if it's worth continuing in the program or returning to Humanities to get better grades.

Choice 1 : Continue to try to get the best grades possible to increase your R Score.

Choice 2 : Abandon technique and go to a more general program to have a chance of entering law university.

An alternative.

You passed through Paraegal Technology, but you did not manage to obtain a sufficient R Score to enter university. Though, UQAM offers the option of entering law if the student has two years of experience in the legal field. You could also enroll in a more general program and give your all to your classes, which would increase your R Rating considerably.

Choice 2 : Start college again in a more general and easier program.

Deception.

You entered Social Sciences, and you spend all of your classes with people who don't know what they want to do with their lives. You are very bored with your old program and the subject of the general courses is not captivating at all. You are very much regret your choice to have left Paralegal Technology.

Realignment necessary.

The program is much more elaborate than you thought, and you don't think you can meet the demands of the teachers. You could roll up your sleeves and give all you have to the technical side of graphic design or decide to start your own layout services company.

Money or pleasure?

You barely pass your graphic design technique, and you think about what you're going to do next. You have two great job offers, each with their advantages and disadvantages. The first has a very good salary, but you are not at all free when it has been coming to the creative side since you must continually follow the orders of your superior. The second pays less, but it is very close to your home, and you will always have carte blanche when it comes to conceptualizing the design projects that you do.

Life has a price.

You need a lot more money to start your company. You believe a lot in your project, but you don't know where to find financing. The banks want absolutely nothing to do with you because they think you are much too young. You turn to your parents, and they tell you that if they lend you money, they want 40% of the profits you make. Or they give you the opportunity to use your rich grandmother's inheritance.

A new passion.

You discover what the job of paralegal is, and you love it. You definitely want to do this for the rest of your life and don't want to go to college anymore. You're trying to climb the ladder, and you're always looking for a better job offer.

You finally pulled off the R Score you needed to go to law school. But when you helped your classmates with their homework, you discovered a passion for teaching. Do you think it would be a very good idea to get a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching?

You went through your program by putting aside the cons. It wasn't easy, but you are very happy to have taken this path because you can now afford to apply for the BAC in law. You can't wait to start your classes, and you already see yourself being a criminal lawyer. You feel like the future belongs to you.

You take Paralegal Technology again to continue your courses where you left off. However, your friends and acquaintances that you made during your first two sessions are in their third year, and you are starting your second. You have to start all the socializing from scratch.
