My Future Job.
Enter the Business World.
It was the end of my 5 years journey of high school, and I was still a bit mixed about what should I do next in my academic life. I have always been a great student who is pulling off straight A's in all my class, so I did my classes of advanced mathematics, chemistry, and physic. I had some interest with the business world and with all the knowledge that I've gained from high school, two choices were available to me.
Choice 1 : Apply to Ahuntsic College and enter the Business Management program
Choice 2 : Find a job near my house with my high school diploma
My First Job.
I managed to find a decent but cursory job with only a high school diploma, I started to work at a Walmart store. When I first arrived as a trainee, my boss and the HR team told me that I could learn the ropes with an on-the-job training. I started with being a cashier, then I moved to being a telephone attendant with the online store. With the experience that I've gained, I improved my time management, my concentration, my communication skills, and it results with my boss giving me a premium wage. After a year and a half with that job, I started to really appreciate being an attendant, but I wanted to go into a different workplace. Two ideas came into my mind at this moment.
Choice 1 : Stay in Walmart
Choice 2 : Start the flight attendant training
My College Life.
In my first semester of college, I was living my best life. I was able to pull of great grades in all of my courses without too much effort. The problems came when I started my second semester at Ahuntsic College. The courses were fine and interesting but the study side of school was maddening. I always wanted to put aside my homework, but I would be in bigger problems, so I disciplined myself. Business was really in my interest at the time and when I finally got my DEC in Business Managent, there were two jobs that I thought would fit me.
Choice 1 : Apply as a Benefits Administrator
Choice 2 : Apply as a Business Valuator
Being a Flight Attendant.
So, I did the 8-week training to become a flight attendant, and it was a bit overwhelming because of all the new things and skills that I had to learn. I could say that my previous job came in handy, because I already had some experience with being an attendant at Walmart. After passing my final exam and getting my official license, I started my internship with Air Canada. I was the only intern at the workplace at the time, and I quickly adapt and secure a spot in the agency. I worked 2 years at Air Canada, and it was really fun. I made some new friends, but one day something turned me off. I witnessed corruption and the plane while working. I saw my coworker Bryan giving free tickets to people in exchange for substances. One of my other coworkers also saw that, but he didn't do anything because Bryan gave him some bribe probably to keep this ingrained situation private. I really felt uncomfortable so, I started thinking about 2 solutions.
Choice 1 : Stay at Air Canada and keep my mouth shut
Choice 2 : Enter a different agency like Transat
My Dream Job.
This was really the greatest and proudest accomplishment that I've had in my life. I could mix my mathematics and business knowledge to help other people grow their projects, and to hinder future problems. When I started working at Business Valuation Inc., the HR group really helped me to integrate the squad. The office politics weren't too difficult to apply in my routine, and because of my great work, I've gained a premium wage only after 6 months. It felt like paradise in my life, so only one choice was giving to me.
Choice 1 : Work here all my life
The Worst Decision in My Life.
After only 2 months in that new company, I knew this was the worst decision of my life. I thought that being in a benefits Management company would be really likeable to work in a squad with a great chemistry, but it wasn't that. It was the absolute alienation. I was working alone, on the desk, and all the reading was though to understand. It got me thinking about a sooner retirement. After the third month, my mind was clear, I had to do something.
Choice 1 : Stay in that company
Choice 2 : Apply in another company that gives the same job
