The beginning.

One day in the greater Montreal, Alex was at a crossroads. Having finished his diplome d'études collégiales (DEC) in civil engineering technology at CEGEP Ahuntsic, he had to make a choice that will deflect on his life. Will he choose Polytechnique or ETS?

Choice 1 : He attend Polytechnique.

Choice 2 : He attend ETS.

Alex decided to go to Polytechnique de Montreal because it's one the best engineering school, well-known for its courses. He was super excited about getting into theories and projects. But things went south when he failed some mid-terms. He started to lose confidence. After a difficult first-semester, he had to choose between continuing at Polytechnique or switch school.

Choice 2 : Alex decide to stay at Polytechnique.

Alex decided to go to École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) because it is one of the best engineering schools, well-known for its practical courses. Polytechnique, is know for its rigorous academic. Even with all of his efforts, Alex found himself struggling more as the semesters progressed. All those theories wasn't made for him, it overshadowed his passion. Alex began to question whether this path was meant for him. After many sleepless nights, he made the difficult decision to drop out. This decision was a tough one but was the right one. Alex went through several jobs afterwards, but none felt right. He then started in the construction business. Started his new compagny. Everything felt right, he found his niche.

After completing his first year at ETS with success, Alex received jobs offers from two major companies. Pomerleau offered him for a project manager position, recognizing his leadership potential and human skills. SNC-Lavalin saw his technical expertise and precision, offering him a role as a technician in civil engineering. He then scheduled appointments for job interviews with both companies. During the interview with Pomerleau Alex showed his human skills and his vision for projects, while in his interview with SNC-Lavalin he showed his technical experience that he learned in school. Both companies presented him with job offers.

The position at Pomerleau offered him more opportunities for bigger roles and responsibilities that aligned with his ambition. The technician role at SNC-Lavalin was also attractive but Alex felt that Pomerleau's project manager position would be better for him.

After consideration, Alex accepted the job offer from SNC-Lavalin over Pomerleau. His decision was influenced by his dad, he used to work as a technician , which he felt SNC-Lavalin would be the right choice. SNC-Lavalin also offered him the opportunity to work on bigger projects, a challenging environment. Additionally, Alex was impressed with SNC-Lavalin's commitment to him they offered him a big package deal. That internship aligned well with his career path. Ultimately, Alex felt that SNC-Lavalin was the best fit for his skills and career goals.
