Hi, my name is Megan and I'm studying Social Sciences at Montmorency College because I would like to become a criminologist. It's my last session of college and I need to choose in which university I want to go.

Choice 1 : Go to the Montreal University.

Go to the Montreal University.

I choose the Montreal University because the psychology classes are given at the Laval pavilion which is near my house. I don't like driving in the city of Montreal so I choose the only university that isn't in Montreal. After choosing in which university I'll go, I need to choose when I take my classes.

Day courses.

I decided to take day classes because I don’t mind waking up in the morning. I like to have time at school to study so at the end of the day I will stay at school and study with my friends. I prefer day classes instead of night courses because I am more awake in the day than the night. Now I need to choose if I want to work or not.

Choice 2 : No job.

I decided to continue working at the same place I was working when I was at Montmorency College. It’s called Bouclair maison and it is right behind the university, so it is easy for me to get there. I have already done the on-the-job training so it is easier for me to stay there than starting a new job.

Choice 2 : Trip in Greece.

I kept the job I used to have but I shouldn’t. Last week, I went to see the doctor and he told me that I was doing a burn out. I wasn’t feeling good for more than a month and now I understand why. I need to take more time to relax and told my boss that I quite for mental reasons. I thought I would be able to work and study at the same time but maybe I was expecting too much about myself.

I continued working at the same place I used to work when I was in College. I saved my money and in 2 weeks I go to Greece with my best friend. That will be an amazing trip. I always wanted to visit Greece with my best friend, it’s like a dream come true. I work hard and that’s the present I’m giving to myself for Christmas.

I decided to quit my job because I want to give my 100% in my studies. I want to have the best grades, so I thought that having no job would help me in my goal.

I’m a little bit stressed because I don’t like to earn money to someone and it’s like the same thing with the bank. I hope that I won’t need all the money they give me. My parents.

I am so grateful to have my parents by my side during my studies. They are paying for my food and they don’t ask me to pay a pension since I still live at home. I couldn’t ask for more about them. I really love them and when I will be done with school, I will make everything they want me to do to help them like they help me.

Evening classes.

I decided to take evening classes because I don’t like to wake up early every day. I like to wake up whenever I want to, take my coffee, study and then go to school. I can’t go to bed before eleven o’clock, so I ask myself why not take evening classes? They are made for me.

Day working.

I decide to continue working at the same place I used to work when I was in college. I like that place because the boss is very nice, and he gives me the hours I want. The only thing is that he needed me to choose between a part-time of a full-time job.

I told my boss that I will take the full-time job because I need money and I think I can do it. I am very organized, so I can do both. I am working between 30 and 40 hour per weeks which seems a lot with school, but I have been doing this for 2 weeks now and I’m pretty surprise about how it goes. I am doing very well.

I told my boss that I will take the part-time job because I think that the maximum of hours, I can handle is fifteen. I don’t want to stress with school, so I only work 2 days per week which gives me enough time to study. I have anything to paid because I live with my parents so the money I make, I use it for some activities with my friends on the weekend.

I don’t want to work because like I already said, I am not an early person. I like to sleep late in the morning, so I told my boss that I won’t be working for my fist year at university.

I have great grades at school right now. I know that the fact that I don’t work gives me more time to sleep or study. I feel good, and I am always in a good mood. My friends have part-time job and they are always stress because they say they are missing time for school. Yesterday, one of my friends fainted in the cafeteria because she didn’t have enough sleep. I think that quitting my job was the best thing I have done because I don’t feel stressed at all.

I am very stressful since I quit my job. I shouldn’t have quit it because now I need money and I can’t live well. I ask my parents, but they don’t have enough money to give me some. I asked the bank for a loan and they refuse because they think I won’t be able to refund them. Everyday is a bad day, but today is the worst. I just came back from the doctor and he told me that I have a cancer which can be cause by the amount of stress I experienced in the past few months.

I was sure I was about to graduate and go to the university, but I fail one of my classes which means I must go back to college for a full session if I want to go to university. I have to choose because I am tired of school, so I don’t know if I want to go back to college or I will give up.

I became a dealer. I know it’s not a legal job, but it is only for a few weeks. I was looking for a soft job that brings back a lot of money and my friends told me that he knew someone that could help me. Now I am sealing drugs in Montreal and I really like that. It’s kind of stressful but I don’t mind because I make a lot of money.

I am living at my parent’s house. I don’t have a job. I don’t do a lot of things; my life is kind of boring. I play video games all day, I eat, and I sleep. That’s all I do. I am not motivated. My parents keep telling me to do something with my life, but I don’t know what I want to do so I keep playing video games.

Today I receive my final grade. I have 98% average overall. I am very proud of myself and I think I am ready for university. I see the positive side of this failure and I take it as an experience of life.

Yesterday, I receive my final grade. I was so happy because I had 98% average overall, so I call my mom. I was driving and talking on the phone at the same time. I get distracted and I make an accident. The ambulance brought me to the hospital and I passed tests to find out if I was hurt . Now I need to sleep at the hospital all week because my back and my neck hurts.

I choose the University of Laval because I heard that the teachers where much better there and that the ambiance was very nice. I also have a couple of friends that are going there so I won't have to worry about being alone at school. I need to decide in which program I will go.

I decide to study in criminology because it is a subject that catch my attention. I chose this because there is a link with psychology and I used to like the psychology classes in college. I like talking about dependence, making intervention and study the mental health. I am now almost done with university and I need to decide where I want to work.

I work in a prison and I really like that. We don’t have a routine, we always do something different and that makes me happy. Today I work with a criminal and I tried to understand his perception. He has a punishment because he wasn’t kind to me.

The criminal I was working with today tried to take advantage of me. I told him that I don’t want him to touch me and that if he continues, he will have consequences. He didn’t stop so I call the guard and he took care of him. Working here is stressful because we work with bad people trying to make them better.

The criminal I was working with today start yelling at me for no reason. At first, I was shock but then I calm myself and listen to what he was saying. I was doing overtime when this happened, and I ask myself why I stayed. But when he calms down, everything goes back to reality and I realized that I love my job. Every job has their disadvantages and mine that sometimes I have to be the punching bag on which the prisoners left off steam.

After graduation, I start working at pinel institute. It is a psychiatric hospital located in Montreal. Every day I see something different and that’s why I really like my job.

I have my week end free, so I can have time with my family and friends. I also have 2 weeks of vacation in my first year of work which is very good. My salary is above the average. I can’t ask for more about my job.
