Congratulations! You’re almost done with your technique in Prehospital Emergency Care at Ahunstic College. All there is left is your summary of learning classes and your paramedical internship. We are arriving in mid January, you are about to start your last college’s semester, how do you spend your last days if Christmas break?

An uneasy morning.

After partying too hard for the last few days of Christmas break, you are having troubles waking up early for the first day of the semester. You arrive late, hungry and sleepy to your first classes of summary of learning. They explain to you the structure of the courses and give advice to help you during your last semester. After explaining the structure of the course and a couples of advices for the well going of your last semester, the teacher want to finish this first class with a small quiz to make sure everyone is ready for this semester . The teacher is giving every student two options: They can either take the version A quiz alone or take the version B quiz in teams of two.

With both of your knowledge combined, you both ended up passing the quiz with a moderate score. After the quiz, the teacher announced that students may choose if they want to start the semester with their internship or end the semester with it?

You could apply at Urgence-Santé which is closer to your home since they specialize in cover the whole Montreal-Laval area, but tend to be more demanding emotionally and physically. There is also the possibility to apply at Dessercom which is located in Québec, Lévis where one of your grandmothers lives but is still far from all your family in Montreal.

You decided to stay in Montreal and to do your internship at Urgence-Santé. You’ll be required to do 8am to 8pm shifts at Urgence-Santé West Headquarters. You meet up with your internship supervisor and you both become great temporary partners really quick. At lunch time , your supervisor ask to go to a restaurant to celebrate the well going of your internship, where should you two decide to eat?

Choice 2 : The local steamed-hotdog place arround the bloc.

Well done on your part, you’ve finally to get to the finish line without much trouble. Now you are ready for the real work as a paramedic in Montreal!

Before doing the internship, you’ll have to decide for which ambulance company you want to apply. You get there a little sleepy but you’ll still managed to get there on time. For the test itself, you managed to dig deep into last night studies to manage and get by shown at end. After many years at it, you finally manage to finish your DEC in Prehospital Emergency Care, congratulations!

The long sleep helped you get to school early enough to reread some protocols you had forgotten last night. During the test, you manage to efficiently evaluate the patient and evacuate as fast as you could to save him. You passed your exams with a 98%!
